2020 Treasure Hunt Headquarters Fall Hunt
Starts at 5 PM on Thursday, October 15th with the release of the first clue.
There will be a total of ten clues, released daily around 5 PM from October 15th to October 24th.
Search limits include parks and public spaces within Ramsey County.
Treasure Hunt Headquarters will award the finder a $150 prize.
Bonus prize money also awarded to finders of the 6 Treasure Troll locations based on their Treasure Troll tokens.
There will only be one finder in the Treasure Hunt Headquarters Fall Hunt. Tokens cannot be combined from multiple people, only the tokens claimed by the official finder are eligible to increase the prize. If searching as a team, the tokens of the person who finds the medallion will be used to determine the bonus prize money.
No registration is required for the hunt.
The Bonus clue for the individuals who located all 6 Treasure Troll locations will be emailed on Thursday, October 22 at 9 AM.
Treasure Hunt Headquarters reserves the right to discontinue the treasure hunt at any time if public property is destroyed or people are hunting on private property.
The medallion will not be on or in a body of water, on top of a building, up a tree, on a steep cliff, underground, indoors, inside anything electrical or something that is locked. Be safe. Search, don't destroy.
Please follow posted park rules and practice social distancing when searching for the medallion. Please be safe and have fun while exploring our parks and public spaces.

The key to this hunt, comes in the descent
The official meaning of the clue.
The “climb to the top” and “360 views” are referring to summit. Summit Avenue runs into the park. The word “descent” was letting you know that you’d have to descend into the ravine.

Will you walk from afar or be lucky to park close by
Depends on the time of day and if the weather is dry
Nearby there are signs of Peter, Paul and even John
But no proud display of the name of the land you are on
The official meaning of the clue.
The first two lines refer to the limited amount of parking at the park. It was very hard to find parking on a nice day and while scouting the park I had to walk in from area streets as the parking lot was full. “Peter, Paul and John” are references to names on the Shadow Falls plaque in the park. St. Peter Sandstone, St. Paul and John Ireland who donated the land for the park. The final line refers to the fact that there is no park sign labeling the park as you drive by.

Confine your search Imniza Ska, that’s no bluff
When you get there, pay attention to what you hear
What you should do is enter there and exit here
The official meaning of the clue.
The first two lines refer to St. Paul which was known to the Dakota people as “Imniza Ska” or white bluffs. From the third and fourth lines, what you should hear is “exit here” referring to Exeter Place which intersects Mississippi River Blvd near where the path enters the ravine.

How can things in close proximity disagree
It is an easy mistake, so do not condemn

The “twenty-two” and “twenty-three” refer to the Shadow Falls plaque stating that The Monument was built in 1923, yet the plaque at the base of The Monument refers to 1922. For those that needed another hint, “then mount em” anagrams to “The Monument”.

If you are surrounded by water on all sides
in different states where the treasure hides
They all share a name from what you can see
Known as Wakpa Tanka in early Dakota history

The water on all sides and Wakpa Tanka refer to the Mississippi River. It is in liquid form to your west with the actual river and in a solid state on the other sides as Mississippi River Blvd.

The surrounding homes are quite the digs
The nearest built by one of the little pigs
A charming place where downed trees are rife
With a reminder from the ancestors - water is life!

The first two lines refer to the very nice homes surrounding the park also gives reference to a stick home along the path in the ravine. The word “charming” was the description of the park from the Shadow Falls plaque. There are many downed trees in the ravine and “water is life” refers to the fact that there is water very near the treasure location.

Sticks and stones may break your bones
Be safe as you head into these unknowns
In our case we’ll use them for crossing water
It’s dead to right, now you’re getting hotter
The official meaning of the clue.
“Sticks and stones” and “crossing water” are referring to the first two places where the path crosses the stream running through the ravine. The first is made of rocks and the second of logs or branches. “Dead to right” is a hint that the treasure was hidden near a dead tree on the right side of the path as you are descending into the ravine.

The words “sunny day” and “lead or follow your way” are referring to the word shadow. The words “stumble” and “waters tumble” are referring to the word falls. Combining those two, hopefully got you to Shadow Falls Park.

Between the two crossings made of sticks

“Between the two crossings made of sticks” tells hunters that they need to search beyond the first stick crossing and before the next crossing narrowing the search area. The last two lines are referring to the fact that they are looking for a tree without bark within 6 feet of the path.

Pinpoints the location of the medallion very near the third stream crossing, near a dead tree under a piece of bark on the ground. The medallion was hidden in a small case covered in camouflaged duct tape.

The official meaning of the clue.
The first verse is referring to the six parks used for the Treasure Troll; Hidden Falls, Oasis, Afton Hills, Sitzer, Wakefield and Driftwood. If you take the first letter of each park name and unscramble them you come up with the word “shadow”. The second verse tells you not to go down near the falls and that you don’t need to stray far from the path and water. It also mentions that it’s under bark and leaves.
