Woodbury's Winter Medallion Hunt: Coin Quest 2021

Calling all wise, creative, adventure-seeking and puzzle-solving Woodbury residents! Woodbury’s Public Safety team members have secretly hidden three coins in Woodbury parks and we need your help finding them before the snow melts! Fortunately, Public Safety provided three creative clues for each hidden coin to help participants find them. Will you be one of the secret-solving seekers to decipher the provided clues, find the coin and redeem the prize?

The three-week Woodbury Winter Medallion Hunt: Coin Quest will include three coins, one each week, that will be hidden in a Woodbury park. Clues to the hidden coins will be provided on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, beginning the week of Jan. 18, and running through the week of Feb. 1.

The individuals who find each Coin will receive: the original coin keepsake, $100 worth of gift cards to Woodbury businesses and each time a Coin is found a $100 will be given to a local non-profit in Woodbury. Thank you to the Woodbury Community Foundation for generously sponsoring the donation portion of each prize.

No registration is required and this activity is open to all Woodbury residents.

Encouraging the community to seek and find
A special Coin of its very own kind.

Coin number one is hidden where we see trees and fields.
Think wisely to see what this clue reveals.
You will see yellow vehicles there too.
At this park, there is so much to do!

Step-by-step you will find your way,
Carefully look all around, they say.
A quieter place the Coin is near,
But venture west and the roar of the crowd you’ll hear.

Have you narrowed it down to the right park?
Do you have an idea, a hunch or a spark?
Maybe clue solving is your knack?
Make sure you are looking so the sun rises on the Coin’s back.

Clue 2
Kings, queens and other people in a royal court provide
The boundary around the west side
They may say royal meetings drag on and on
Similar to students who might dream for school days to be gone

If the trees could talk at this location
They would share stories of many generations
Of park goers with balls, bats, and even on wheels
Who fill this park with season-round squeals.

Not too close to where skates and sticks
Make an appearance when the ice is thick.
Not too close to where bumps and spikes are planned
But look to the west to see some native land.

Step into the snow and slush
But no need to touch any trees or brush.
Roughly halfway between the north and south lot
Seems like the pretty perfect spot.
