2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

How yall doin today. Wow this is amazing. Looks like another year where the grandest thing will be put inside of clay. No snow. That's Minnesota for ya.

T.S. - nothing to say lately, any new thoughts?

clay, mud, wads of grass, buried under leaves between a couple of roots in a tree. i imagine hidden falls or someplace else near the river would be good for this where there'd be trees with higher growing root systems.

Ares, that's my first stop, on Monday the 21st. Never been there, gonna check it out, hide a cache, snoop around.

BTW, nice Mustang !

Good Evening!

Snow would be nice - and I'm sure we'll have some before the end of the hunt. After all, this is January in Minnesota.

Glad to see folks are getting along.

Allison - I agree with you. Sometimes it's hard to know whether one should post their thoughts or not.

I figure the purpose of this board is to share ideas. The finder will still have to wade through all the random thoughts, pick which ones make most sense to them, and then get off their cans and pick up that shovel and dig. Without the digging, there will be no reward. Doesn't matter who called what first or who first interpreted any particular clue correctly. The only thing that matters in the end is that someone finds it.

thanks ian. and if the weather doesn't get better soon, i may actually have to take her out for a spin!

After all, this is January in Minnesota.

terry, last month was december in minnesota too, and the month before that was november. and neither of them saw a hunt-worthy amount of fresh snowfall. i'm still betting its gonna be a dry hunt.

Evenin' All!

Not being the world's best Hunter - if anything, prolly the worst - it *is* a big deal to me being the first to interpret a clue correctly.

I doubt if it will ever be said o'me, "green found The Medallion in 2XXX!"

But it can always be said, "green aced 'a line of trees = wood row = Wilson' in 1999!"

Maybe when I've been hunting as long as so many o'you, noodling a clue correctly will become old hat as - if! - I do it more and more often.

But until I get better at all this, just figuring out what The Clue Writer(s) meant/means is a BIG HIGH!

Ares, as much as I pontificate and spew "I'm gonna find it this year!," I really don't think I will - this year or ever. I *want* to, very much so! But I just can't figure out The Clues.

They're like a foreign language to me!

I never ever give up hope. I doubt if I ever will. But, in all honestly, I don't think I'll ever be a Med finder.

I have to quit eating my Viet Nam garlic/pepper sauce on Velveeta and crackers before I go to bed...

Dreampt (sp?) all the parks/rec centers were completely covered - every square inch o'ground - with California navel oranges...

at least you get a lot of oj after all the parks have been turned over.

Thu, 01/10/2002 - 7:37 PM Permalink

That sure would be a coincidence, though. And a gold star would have to be awarded to the youngster for his determination to focus on that park all year.

Timmer, I think he likes outside the city just as much as HI.

I thought harriet last year. I guess it is still at the top of my list. But that meens nothing, I am not basing it on anything.
