Mad_Dach5und

LeSueur County in mid 80's - none of my moon shots made it into the fair - my landscape photos were a helluva lot better

I went to State a couple of times for Model Airplanes / Rocketry - got to stay in the 4-H "Hilton" at the fair for three straight days. I don't think we had hot water EVER in that ancient dormitory. I think they've remodeled since then, but I haven't been in there for decades...

We probably played against them in 4-H softball. We were the team of nothing but 8&9 year olds - and my 15 year old tired arm stuck in Center field. (had to back up EVERYONE)

Working on finishing off a thousand cranes by the end of the month for a birthday gift to a friend (they like japanese things, and I thought it'd be nice to do for them). So I thought I'd take a photo of how they come together, fold by fold.

So far I got 150 done... as you can see by the paper in the box, I have a long way to go.....

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift!

Playing around last night. I was able to get the laser beam to show up in the dark. I still need to get out in an open field to see exactly how far away I can reach with it. Can't wait for a foggy night!!!

It worked fairly well with a gallon jug of water, lit the whole thing up. Then we have a chandelier in the house that was just a natural thing to try....

And of course I had to try this...

HEH looks like by double pumping the cavitiy you may be successful with the generation of orange lased light...

Summary: We have developed diode pumped solid state orange (593 nm) laser by use of intracavity sum frequency mixing for Nd:YVO/sub 4/ dual pumping dual cavity (1342 nm and 1064 nm). The maximum orange power was 1.29 W at 30 W pumping. IEEE site

Playin' with your LASER

KC0GRN

you know, they don't make lasers in orange... closest is yellow-orange in the 593.5 nm wavelength, but I haven't seen any for sale...

I stand corrected. I guess they do have them, but at 299 bucks for a 2mW... ouch!

I found this going through pictures for the wedding website. I had to share it, because I think it's a really cool picture of my dad and his cat, napping.

He must have owned the cat for awhile as they tend to look alike
