Hell yeah... man.. sup with all these other brands of chips rippin off the "chips in a can" gimmick?? It took them all long enough to realize that the idea rocked.
Aight yo, the Shaggs is boutta lay this down one time.
First of all, I haven't slogged everything said up in this piece for a couple days (seeing as how we were out "hunting") I just skimmed through a few posts, so I have no idea how many people will agree or disagree with this, or who they are.
Now then, my cohort Violent J and I were standing not more than 5 feet from the ninja that found the medallion. I'm telling you this right now, J and I will no longer partake in this "hunt". I seriously think the Prank, the say it isnt so, and the malarky lines were all referenceing the fact that there was nothing to hunt for at that time. This was so obviously a case of someone planting the medallion just before it was found. There is no way in hell it was in that area during the "hunt."
First of all, we're damn near positive this dude picked it up underneath a log, which was not there just 4 or 5 hours before hand. He didn't know what it was, read it, and then had to ask the news crew what the deal was. I don't know which channel he brought it up to first, but they couldn't understand him or something and blew him off, so he went to channel 9 I think. When he brought them back to "where he found it," he broght them to a spot a good 20 feet from where he picked it up. Yeah, I know big deal...
Next, at the park he said that he hasn't looked for it yet this hunt. I personally haven't seen news paper articles or any of the news broadcasts on him, but I've heard that now he's saying he was out 3 days before, and even something about him being out the night before.
Anyone see that thing when he showed it to the cameras? Perfectly clean, do things not get dirty on the ground in the winter? Which brings me to my next point. Does that last clue not say a green, plastic, unedible doughnut? That's what it looks like to me. I don't believe any of this real doughnut crap, and can't see a medallion being jammed into one, to show up completely clean at the end. Animal eating the doughnut, and then licking the medallion clean? I don't think an animal would be expecting a hard piece of plastic up in it's grub, so I'd suspect a tooth mark of some sort in the medallion, there's a few shovel marks from past hunts, but no teeth marks. It might have happened, but its way too far fetched and either way, it wouldn't have been found where it was.
I don't even want to hear anyone tell me that the mob of people tossed it from the initial spot where everyone was digging. Did you see that hill? Did you see where those people were going? Did you see where all the snow, and sticks, and everything else were going? Down, not up. If the medallion would have been moved due to hunters, it would be in that giant pile of snow at the bottom of the hill, where everything else went.
So it was found at the top of the hill? Damn! No way! We cleaned that hill dry. And those logs were cleared by the few of us left sifting after 5AM. I can see it being clean as I would have polished that thing before showing it to anyone just by holding it so tightly. I also heard that they didn't look for it for 3 days but for 3 separate years. Not sure how much they looked this year tho. I'm glad you were there when they found it. I must have just missed it. I couldn't wait around. I'm sorry I didn't tape you guys on 9. I started just after you were on. I'm real surprised that Jake didn't stick around to get some face time. ;-)
Its my feelin also, that the thing was dropped 10 minutes before the ninja picked it up....
He picked it up, just like Shaggs said, under a log, that WE WATCHED people carry out of the pit, less than 2 hours earlier... also.. dont go lookin for the log, cause we burnt the damn thing after all they hype was done... and no.. there wasnt a hole in the thing for it to have been hiddin in....
furthermore... anyone who saw the area, can tell ya how much snow was there... not alot.... and the log that it was "hidden under" was covered in snow.... snow that was originally at the bottom of the pit...
yeah... try and tell me that someone carried that log up the hill and just happened to drop it right on top of the medallion..... let alone the curved part of the log was dropped on top of the medallion...
also... right where it was... was basically the area where the moshpit crowd was standing when the phone calls started coming in.... tell me that, that many people trampled around on top of the thing and no one saw it... tell me that no one was diggin there earlier in the day/later in the day... and didnt see something about as blue as the background on this website, sitting there in dirty ass snow, and light brown pine needles..
Also... like 2 Dope pointed out... the guy cant keep his stories straight... now.. im not takin anything away from Luis Ibarras (thats his name right?), more power to him.. congrats for wandering out there and pickin it up... congrats for having all the daily clues... good luck next year too, ninja (yeah.. like he's reading this).. but really... at first. out in the park, he was talkin about how he hadnt even been out yet.. then all of a sudden the story changes when he gets in the paper, and when his kids are interviewed on the news at school, crying, and talkin bout how they had been out 3 different times, and were even out the night before...... we saw the ninja pick it up from under the log... and then when he went to bring the channel 9 ninjas back there... be brought them 20 feet away from where it really was, and was talkin bout how he hit his head on a tree branch..... yo... where the log was... there was no tree branches to hit yer head on... unless maybe your 12 feet tall or someshit.. which he wasnt...
the way I see it... im givin these ninjas (the Pioneer Press) the 3 strike rule... techincally this should have been a 3rd strike, but... its not, considering the fact that at Merriam, the damn thing was actually hidden that year... those people finding it in the open field, on clue 6 proves that.... with last year and now this past hunt.... being the first two strikes.. im givin these ninjas one more chance.... next year... if they pull some bullshit move again... no more Violent J... I know a buncha people, right now are saying "big deal!! you guys are babys!! crying about this shit!!!"... yeah.. big deal exactly... thats what it is... especially to people like us that are out there every damn clue, lookin for this thing, just to have this clue 12 drop effect happen......
I know from reading posts that theres a buncha people that think basically that the thing was actually out there the whole time... but most of the people saying that, werent there when it was picked up...
infact.. there wasnt many people there at all... I think me and Shaggs were pretty much the only people from the Crew that were there... and like my homie said....we were 20 feet away
aight.. this is the first time ive posted my thoughs on this and now im done venting on this... ive been doing this for 2 days now... if anyone asks at the ReHash.. you'll hear the same things said...
Lets hope my ninja that they don't screw us over once again. Hate to see you lose the love for the hunt because some cluw writer has no real heart in this whole deal.
thanks shaggs and VJ...I really was looking for a first hand story...
from everything I have read nothing makes since....
We are too good to be tricked ....I mean if we can put these clues togethor we sure as heck are able to put stories togethor....
all i know is this ...I raked that area...as well as about 50 others...I would have felt better if we didnt know where he found it at...I would have accepted that.... (at least then I would have thought he found it in the PIT.)
