I hate to say it but if the log only says...TNLN or something like that.....then it was sooo boring that I didn't care to write anything else...

Hey Matt, good to see you. I'll post my thoughts on this later. This is a post and dash.

I end up writing a decent log, unless I was either in a hurry or there just wasn't much to say.

Then again, I'm still new to the game, seein as I'm not trying to bet out Moe for numbers. I enjoy the caches I go to, and feel compelled to write something about my journeys, either for myself, or the person that hid the cache. If that's TMI, well whomever can just scan over it, or feel free to complain to me. I'd hope it'd be a refreshing change from "TNLNSL" though.

oh..i forgot one reason i don't do a great log...i look as ANY info I can give could be a spoiler.....just a word is a clue in some cases...

Good point on the spoilers. Fine line to walk sometimes, but I figure people can always ignore logs to make it more of a challenge. I usually just check to see if there's a lot of DNFs before going to a cache.

Lately I've been posting more online, and less in the logbook. I'll post a DNF, then delete it after the cache has been found. The only reason I do that is I just want find notes on my log page. After a period of time, I delete notes and archives for the same reason.

When people find one of my caches, I'm most interested in the condition. The second thing I like to see is the person's thoughts about the area the cache was hidden.

A few times I may feel that a certain cache was a "unique" hide. I really like to see comments on these. On a few occasions, I've asked a person to edit the log, to remove any spoiler info.

I have 11,482 e-mails in my geocache folder and I've deleted a few thousand. I hold out all DNF's and cache maintenace issues. I'm able to keep an eye on those, or plan a trip to check them out. A handful of 'cachers are tremendous "helpers" and I'd like to thank Matt and Joel. If Kitch, Clue-Master and Centris have done maintenance for me I've temporarily forgotten, but it's appreciated.

thanks Ian, I'm glad to help out where I can, even thinking of keeping a cache repair kit in my car or along with me in my pack (learned that's gonna help a lot come summer when I don't need to wear a jacket, I'd miss the pocket room). Hate leaving a cache in disarray anyways, can't be much fun for the original hider nor the next finder to pick up a messed up one.
