I love a man who keeps a park clean ;)

a huge pet peeve of mine is litter on the street or park.

Another is when people dump their ashtrays from their vehicles on the ground or throw their cigarettes out the vehicle window (happened to me 3 times on Friday!-the vehicles in front of me on the highway)  ...I do however like seeing the splatter of the fire when the cigarette hits the ground!

She used what she had learned in gun-safety training

??? Isn't she like, 12? not many girls take gun-safety ~wow~

They better put it back-it may have been what ESD hid for us to find during his hunt! (It is Battle Creek-Mounds Regional afterall) ;)

I have a prior event to attend in Rush city for friday night. I'm still gonna try and make it out to crosby before I leave for it. I'm thinking around 6 or so, if my wife lets me. I would have gone sooner in the day, but I have to sleep. If I'm up soon enough, I may stop earlier without the wife, cause she works till about 5:30.

I think I accidently found "Love the one your with" when I was there.

ummm...I didn't want to say this....

here's what i've watched somebody pick up or picked up myself....

2 used condoms, Panties, lost count at 12 condom wrappers, rubber gloves, package of lube.

Ian, you shoulda had condoms and KY samples in that cache

It's up to you what you want to put in your cache, budget permitting. If you are a Dot com millionaire, I would hope you would pony up a bit of cache (err cash), but most of us can spend less than $10 to place a decent cache.

Do not put food in a cache! Critters have better noses than we do, and will bite, nibble or swallow your cache in an attempt to get to the goodies. Bottled water is a good alternative (and refreshing to geocachers).

Please! No alcohol, tobacco, firearms, prescription or illicit drugs. Let's keep this safe and legal.

I guess condoms would qualify as being safe. HEH

In Spanglish -Adam Sandler say:

when you drink in 41 degrees F it lowers your matabolism and keeps you sober.
Somehow I havn't seen this work when we are treasure hunting.

On a windy, semi-chilly day, several Minnesota geocachers, Winter Carnival medallion hunters and park visitors participated in an Earth Day event at Crosby Regional Park (Crosby Farm Nature Area).
Thanks to the Park Department for supplying the bags and gloves.

A lot of good work was done, and it was great to see people who were not aware of the event, asking questions, grabbing gloves and trash bags, and helping out. A visitor from Tibet, Lama Gendan Gyatso and his friend Victor Rangle were very interested in what we were doing, and filled a bag with trash during their walk along the river.

It was good to see Perrine again, after a couple years. Thanks for helping out.

It was nice to meet Mr. and Mrs. Rubber Toes, who were cachin' and trashin' most of the day.

Had a nice chat with Rickrich, gave him a minor hint on a cache. I really appreciate your comments too.

Many other 'cachers and members of the Cooler Crew attended. MrMNMikey found his first cache, without a GPSr and without trying. Hmmm I wonder where it was??

We never got his name, but "Guy on a Bicycle" was very active during the day. Had a nice chat with him.

The "parade" during the day was interesting. It seemed like some vehicles ran the route several times.

Didn't make it to the event? You missed out on the world's best campfire cakes, baked by the multi-talented mucluck. Chocolate was good, but I still have to pick the pineapple upside-down cake as the best cake I've ever eaten. Yummm

Speaking of mucluck, she did a lot of the prep work for this event, and I can't thank her enough.

Wish we could have been at Crosby on Friday. Planned on it. So wanted to be there! Didn't work out. Long story that involves Inks' folks and another crisis.

Great pictures I've been seeing. :-)

Would be great to keep it a tradition, the more people that show up, the more trash an be picked up. Let's hope they hide the medallion in a nice park this year (not saying anything bad about crosby, just would be nice for a change of scenery).
