Holy shit Otis, get out of the parks before the first clue, I told you you'd freeze your face off!
Who's wedding was that anyway?
Where am I?
Who am I?
HOW am I?
WHAT AM I?????

Hell I'm just going to set up camp in a park. Shorter drive to work then Maple Grove.
Yeah, I guess you could munch on that squirrel if you get hungry.
Looking at the older picture from the early 20th century, a bustling street of activity was operating, called 8th Street. Now, it is known as 7th Place
I wonder if this is the same line?? but geez...how things have changed...
Someone's been busy with Larry Millett's book. There are some great photos of the past and present. It sad to see some of the beautiful buildings that have been torn down to make way for progress.
I figured those came outta that book...but I found them on a website somewhere else...is why I posted from the photo links vs. "stealing them"
Looks like they care more about stealing bandwidth than the actual pictures. I had to go into their properties to see them. Maybe it's a work thing.

I can't see the pictures, but 7th Place used to be 7th St. and 7th St. was 8th St. And it was like that through the late 50's at least as I recall. The Golden Rule fronted on 7th St. (now 7th Place) and Robert and backed onto 8th St., now 7th St. I still call the current 7th St. 8th St., but I still call Herberger's VanArsdell's too. :)
Hey OT - You sound like you're old or something. ;-)
Although I remember when 7th street was a straight street as well. Didn't they change that in the late 70's?

I'm not sure when they screwed the streets up. Like closing off 7th between Wabasha and St. Peter and diverting traffic from 7th to what was once 8th. lol Do I make myself clear? The 70's are kind of a blurr to me what with raising my family and all.
Yeah it's funny that 7 corners is now only 4.

Hi OT :) how are you?
Hi Search! Doing ok. Remember when it was just you and me?? Things change a lot in a year, don't they? lol
OT!! Hello!Â
Hi Terry! Heard you had a great Christmas! I did too, but the farthest any of mine had to travel was from Zumbrota! That's very cool though.Â
Yup! Christmas was more than wonderful around here. After hearing stories he never wrote into an email, I think I could have him certified as totally nutzo.  Hehehehehe!! Not many people would continue on with some of things he's witnessed.Â
I'm sure you're very proud of him. It's an honor to know his Mom and Dad. :)
As a footnote to the whole 7th Ave. vs 7th St. thing, if you were to look where the Medallion was found, in the 50's I think it was, under a mail box on the corner of 7th St. and Robert, you'd have to look on 7th Place now. But I bet it isn't even there anymore. The mail box that is.Â
I still hate the way they changed all the streets downtown. I can never get used to all that.
We're proud of him and try not to worry.Â
JOE! I've been patiently waiting for this one.Â
Seems I've scared OTS off by by "remember when it was just you and me" comment. hehe I was referring to when he was first setting up his web site and I must have found it through the PP board and gave him suggestions and stuff and steered him to this place. Just to set the record straight. Not that anyone would misunderstand...I am the Oldtimer after all. :)
OT... I never saw that comment :).....
But yes I do remember... I was just mentioning to the crew in the other thread that it was you who showed me the way here last year.

Hmmmm. Could be. Is this like the 50th anniversary of that find or anything??Â
I just sent off an email to my son-in-law re: a job opening.  We'll see if he's talking to me. ;)
Oh, and as I recall, when I got to that park I asked you why the heck you weren't on the other side of the lake!!
Yea I guess we were on the wrong side weren't we. I did go over there later though before she found it.
Hey Ian, where did you find that super secret photo of me and Me2?
