I would perfer Magellan for durablity such as dropping it.
I've dropped all my gps's at one point or another. I just know given my 1st Magellan a really bad blow and its still worked just fine (it still works right Kcorn??) (HEH)
nah--they are both good you just get used to the format...
IMHO buy what you can afford....upgrade when you can......but you will always want to upgrade no matter what you have.
lol - I bought a magellan big clunky green one when they first came out (I have ADD and never figured it out) its the old green one about the size of a book with a square pointable antenna arm thingy ......you think the thing would still even work?? or would be worth using?
I think that would be really cool. Like talking on one of those old ass cell phones from the 90s that were bigger than any regular cordless phones are today.
I have the Magellean Gold - I got it about a year ago - as far as caching goes, it's a little fancy - there are like 6 screens to tell you pretty much the same thing.
It's fairly idiot proof and it's durable when dropped, bounced and kicked through a dry creek bed too.
The coolest part about this one is, it links to mapping software you can attach to your lap top and then when you are driving around you get the fancy *onstar* like driving directions. (not that I ever get lost or anything.. )
Oh my god! The funniest thing just happened. My mom gets a letter today addressed to my youngest sister who lives out of state. It's starts off as a letter to her graduating class of 1996 and how there 10 year reunion will be coming up in a few months and all the wonderful things everyone has accomplished. Then it goes into all the wonderful things this one specific person has done, the best of all, becoming someone's mistress!!! So this letter is actually a tell-all of how this person seduced and older married man and took him away from his wife and 4 kids. Get this - she supposedly won his sympathy by crying to him all the time by how rough she had it as a child because her dad left her mom and kids for another woman!!! Can you believe it? This wife sent letters to her entire graduating class!!!!
To top it off, we happen to know this family (not well), but we've known them since elementary school. I graduated with her older sister.
I can make a wager of who won't be showing up to her 10 year reunion. Hell hath no fury than a woman scorn. :eek:
My mom was so confused as to who sent it. I'm like "duh" the wife/ex-wife of course. I explained to her the wonders of the internet and all this wife would have to know is her name, age, and city she was from and she could gather a list of classmates from various websites such as classmates.com, reunion.com and such and then look up all there addresses on the web. Now she probably didn't get everyone, but my sister's class had over 500 people so you could imagine if she got to even half of them!
I just found out via an old pal, that some peeps were talking smack about this guy from H.S. - I guess it ruined his LTR with his girl and a bunch of other stuff in his life ... He's figured out who is in the center of the crap...
and is sueing for slander and Defemation (sp?) of character.
Now usually I'm anti - stupid law suits etc.. but this guy has really gotten raked over. I don't know either of the parties really well - prolly wouldn't be able to pick either out of a crowd these days - but I knew them way back when...both seemed like alright fellows to me.
Funny thing is - (if my source is correct) all this is just backlash from some stupid jealousy years ago.
My daughter said that KQ read an email this morning that pretty much said the same information that Randy had re: the Vikings. So now that it's in the public domain, I'm sure we'll be seeing it all over the Internet.
