Here in St Paul, as part of the Winter Carnival, they hide a medallion in a park, publish 12 clues (1 a day for twelve days), you figure out the clues to find the medallion, the person that finds it wins $10,000.
Yeah...its real fun. We dig our butts off until the last clue and then watch a thousand people fall into a big hole with rakes, shovels and lanterns. Ever see "Blair Witch"?
I've been thinking about heated underwear. Like a heated blanket, runs on batteries that are charged by the movement of the body, like those nifty watches.
I'm working blue collar for two weeks - hard physical labor, lifting boxes, doing inventory - with a smatter o'white collar tossed in: checking what's in the boxes matches the packing slip and doing credits, etc., etc.
Enkneeweigh, they don't want you to have ra-did-eeos in the warehouse. Gets too cacaphoneous - that a word? So, went out today and got me a CD-thighy that's 'jogable' and all. Didn't go all out and get the one with the ra-did-eeo, too pricey for me right now. Enkneeweigh... I've discovered the JOY of personal music devices!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I used to have the "This Is Soca," by David Rudder and just LOVED it. Was a cassette tape and it died. :(
So, after quite a few years decided to get me a Bob Marley CD today (Also got Robert Plant's "Sixty Six to Timbuktu".) Hadn't wanted to as I'm so apolitical. Didn't know if I'd like it. Got "LEGEND - The Best of Bob Marely," AND ITTIZ DEVINE!!!! I CAN'T QUIT LISTENING TO IT!!!!!
I be-boped all over this afternoon - singing to the songs. Those poor people at work! Got three pallets o'boxes done today - and only two done yesterday when I didn't have any music (GOOD MUSIC!) to listn to! :D
Marley, you think Electric Fetus can still get me "This Is Soca" by David Rudder? I REALLY like soca! And what do you suggest I get for more of Marley? And what's his son like?
Got the CD going on the putter as I'm sitting here...
MAN! Is this EVER GOOD music!!!! :D
Marely, you like soca? Got any good recommendations?
Slogging has taken on new meaning again. Folks are posting stuff all over the place.
Had a good day today. Got my yearly review and got an overall "O" for outstanding...the highest anyone can and very few get. Guess my job is secure for awhile.
KT - I was listening to my new CD at work today. Thank you sooooo much!!! I'm truly blessed and humbled by your thoughtfulness.
TERRY ...since we don't have 500 to slog thru...we gotta do something to pass the time.....
and its also gotten a few of us to dig deeper into the folders..... ...only took me 3 weeks to read everything... well i got a few left to read...the NEWS is going to take me a while....
Thanks Kitch. Nice to be able to share good news now and again.
Once you get caught up around these parts, you'll find the News folders are the ones that often have the most activity. For some reason during the hunt it gets pretty slow in there. I suspect they all read the medallion hunt board instead.
I got to drive the elevator at work today. My supervisor complimented me on my efficiency in doing so. I told her I'd have to tell her the story of the Fitger's elevator some day and why I love pushing those buttons. She looked at me like I had a screw loose and then she just laughed.
Good thing I had my review before that exchange! Chuckled all the way home thinking about it.
Miss Nosey Ter... KT was wondering at The Re-Hash Bash if you'd like your CD. Ah... It was... Well, kind of a spur-o-the-moment kinda thighy.
I told Miss Worry-Wart KT that you would ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT and that you would "cherish" it forever. That it would mean the world to you that she thought enuff to a) give you music; b) give YOU music; c) think o'you. I told her you'd just love it.
HEHEHEHEHEHE! I can bee right - sometimes!!! :D
Knew you'd love and enjoy it. Glad you are. You deserve it - the beauty and the happiness!
Alright it's time to get back to normal posting
You mean we should all go back to hanging out at THX's shed again?
You mean we should all go back to hanging out at THX's shed again?
I even found a dead raccoon back there last year.
No lie!
Looked like a furry frizbee.
did you check to make sure it didn't have the medallion?
Ah, no......
doh! seems lately all sorts of critters have been walking off with it.
Quick version:
Here in St Paul, as part of the Winter Carnival, they hide a medallion in a park, publish 12 clues (1 a day for twelve days), you figure out the clues to find the medallion, the person that finds it wins $10,000.
So, you have heated underwear for this hunt?
BRRRRRR!
Has anyone here ever found it?
Yes, Minnesota.
Heated underwear? Not that i know of, but you give me a great invention idea.
Actually, you get rather warm once you start digging in the snow.
BTW: Over fifty years and it's found every year.
It's been found by Coolercrew members, but they found it before they were part of the Coolercrew. At least I think that's the case.
Yeah...its real fun. We dig our butts off until the last clue and then watch a thousand people fall into a big hole with rakes, shovels and lanterns. Ever see "Blair Witch"?

Cool.
I've been thinking about heated underwear.
Like a heated blanket, runs on batteries that are charged by the movement of the body, like those nifty watches.
They do make electric battery-operated socks.
Am I the only one who has worn hand warmers in her underwear? Please tell me I'm not!
ummmmmmm, I know I didn't, I did wear thermal underwear though.
I've never even worn handwarmers on my hands.
theres some weird stuff goin' on in THX's shed!
I've never used hand warmers in my undies - only because I never thought o'it!
Thanks for the idea, G'Oldie!
Be careful of the location
Man this place is getting weird too!
You're just mad you didn't think of it. ;) And I didn't specify which underwear.
yeah, just think MMM, No shrinkage next year ;)
You just gave me an idea for the next time I go swimming in the lake up north
You people are right down my alley.
;)
Ah, electrocution now?
I'm not Thatsadistic.
Just trying to prevent and shrinkage wherever I can is all. ;-)
Hope it works out for ya....
;)
We have pre-dug, we have noodled, we have raked, dug, and shoveled snow in the parks.
Why isn't it spring yet??? And why is it snowing again!?!?!?!?!
terry ...is called practice!!!
Why isn't it spring yet??? And why is it snowing again!?!?!?!?!
Exactly! Didn't the ground hog say it was going to be only 12 more days of winter on clue one?
CM - That's how I remember it...and I'm sticking to it.
