I probably watch the pianist and the guitarist more than the drummer because A) its easier to see what they are doing and B) my brother played keyboard in a band and Mags played lead guitar.
But I do have a lot greater appreciation of percussion since Drummer started playing.
Why is it that they put the drummer in the back, anyway???
my office is in mendota heights(110 and Lexington)
I used to live just down the street from there Kitch. In those apartments across from that beautiful cemetery. I like how they fixed up your area since I was there.
Good luck VJ.
CDs made off albums
Not sure where to go but you have me curious if I can do it. I'll let cha know when I have time to dinker around. I'd be sure you couldn't DL it or buy it first before burning an old scratched up version tho.
might be a good site for those that want to try to convert the LP to CDR... I don't own a turntable ...so would be tuff....but maybe I'd be interested in doing this with my old cassette tapes...since I don't have a car player for those... I think I can find my old "twisted sister" and my old "grateful dead tapes" (wow what a difference)
Get in the door, sales rep comes up "My laptop only boots to a blank screen, can you fix it?" since this was the old IT guy's laptop, it had linux loaded as a dual boot system, so the linux loader (which controls the dual boot) went kaput. Seeing as I'm no linux genius (yet), getting this guys laptop fixed is going to be a major project of learning, being humble and asking linux users on the net for help, and hoping I can get the dumb thing to just boot to windows again without losing this guy's info.
He's been by my desk hourly to bug me about it.......
All this talk about LP's. I'm considering bringing my old stereo up from the basement and playing mine again.
Do it ! They're just sitting there. They're lonely, bored, wanna dance
I have at least 5000 LP's and probably closer to 10,000
I have a turntable in my garage, at work, in my basement, and with my "main" system upstairs. I have very bad hearing, so I don't have real high-tech stuff, but check this out:
dual-cassette recorder/player, 5 CD deck, 45/33-1/3 turntable, and an 8 track recorder/player !
Oh yeah: 100 primo 8 tracks, and a few thousand 45's
I still pick up LP's at sales and the Goodwill. I plan on taking my stereo to a cabin we're building eventually, but in the mean time I think I want to enjoy them now. I also have an old mono player/am/shortwave radio that plays 78's. It's what we used to listen to when I was growing up, before TV. It's out on my porch and every year on the day I clean the porch for summer I play it. I can't believe that it still works after spending all these years in the elements. I still listen to Twins games on it on a warm summer evening and picture my father doing the same.
Hey Eags! A couple of us are in the 2004 AW Hunt board noodling Alice in Wonderland clues. I keep humming the White Rabbit. Seems I remember someone singing that at karoke one or two nights. :-)

If anyone figures out how to do LP to CD, I'd be interested in having my old high school choir albums transferred.
