Well, I saw the back specialist today for a follow up appt on my back / sciatic pain. She's not recommending surgery at this time. YEAH!! What a relief! She said because i'm seeing substantial improvement / relief with physical therapy that we should continue on that route. I find out tomorrow (Wed) from my general doc when (if) I will be going back to work any time soon.
What up, peeps? The cable co. was supposed to come on Monday and hook up our tv & internet, but when I called them (after the appointed time had come & gone) I was told "we don't have any record of your request." So I'm currently internet-free at home. :(
Also, I have a job interview at 2 today, so wish me luck.
The summer is slipping away! Can't believe we're coming up on the 4th of July so soon.
I haven't posted here for weeks (months?) but I have been trying to keep up! So, congrats go to TC & Ares! And also to Frosti on the recent real estate buy/sell. And Kitch his upcoming transactions....
Sympathies to Me2 & family on the loss of Mary. Hugs to Whitney - you guys did a fabulous thing striving to extend her life.
OH! And good luck with the interview, Frosti! Know it's over and done with now, but wishing you luck with the outcome ;).
We have been up to the typical summer type stuff, mostly trying to keep the kids entertained. Dad was laid off in February, don't know if I'd mentioned that way back when, but try to think good thoughts and send some positive vibes for him/us....he's still not found anything. He has at least been able to be home with the kids, a lot more anyway, and gotten a couple of house projects done.
Emily is playing softball for the first time, and the teams are all going out to the Twins game this evening. They get to parade on the field! Exciting for her....I get to stay home with the other 2.
TC will have to tell us all about ares' romantic proposal.
Â
He said it first not me! I wanna hear to :)
did he take you on a romatic balloon ride in the sky? ask you on a giant billboard? put the ring in your cake at a romantic dinner? Did he hire a trio of mexicans to play music outside your window at night as he gently tossed rocks at your window to surpirse you?  do tell us how Ares asked you?
I really don't remember hearing how he did it?
Hi *MoM* !!! thanks much for all your help and thoughts- it is still rough. I had another nightmare the other night :(
Last nights nightmaredream wasnt soooo bad though...I was in one of those competitions, like the reality show where the man chooses a woman. He chose ME! wow! thats a first-I got shot down a lot with men -so it felt good to be chosen.
Okay - since I am actually here and have a few minutes, I'll throw this out there....
This is for all the law students/scholars...and anyone who just might know the answer...
My mom wants to add my name onto her property records so that when she passes away the transition will be an easy process.  The people at Ramsey County will not help us in any way as far as what type of form needs to be filed - they recommended consulting a lawyer. I have run across a couple of different documents - one is a "quit claim deed", and the other is an "affidavit of survivorship". Has anyone been through this before? Are either of these forms the correct one for what we want?? Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
I'm not a lawer but, I have used this document before. It is for removing someones name off of a property deed. Sounds to me like you're looking for the other one you mentioned.
No, she's not in a nursing home.....really old would depend on perspective, I guess. At the risk of offending any of the more *senior* posters here, no, not *really* old hehehe....she just turned 75. She's in pretty good health, manages all her own affairs, but she wants to plan ahead.
We're planning on heading up north for the long weekend. First time we've been up since Memorial Day. I'm looking forward to not *having* to do anything!
Congratulations Ares and Treasure Chest!!!!!!!!!!!Â
I, too, want to hear about the proposal and if there is any significance in the wedding date that was chosen.
Congrats to all the new property owners! We're closing on our land deal next Friday.Â
Mom - We have had an attorney tell us putting our kids on the title of our property is a good idea. We need to talk with him further about that and get our wills in order and all that...but that might be just a little bit further down the road. First we have to get to this closing and working those finances before paying an attorney for all that.
Congratulations, too, CM! Way to go!!!
LL- Sorry to read about Butterscotch. Pets are a wonderful thing - but the downside is that we most often outlive them.Â
From both Ares and me: good luck Frosti on the interview and congrats ESD on the honor roll.
As for the property, MOM, I imagine that what you are interested in is a new warranty deed. Your mother would sign it as both the "buyer" and the "seller" and you would sign in the "buyer" area. Assuming, of course, that the house is unencumbered by a mortgage. But check with an attorney first. (You could always sign up for pf's pre paid legal service and help out the forum :)
I've got good news!! I saw my doctors today about my back and they both say surgery at this time is out of the question. woohoo! I'm to continue with physical therapy since that's working and they're keeping me on full disability until after the baby is born. Yeah!!
Nice unclaimed Joe there RR. You loosing it or what. Stop by more often duuuuuuuude.
I know how Ares proposed. It was romantic in that way only Ares knows how to be romantic ;)
He rocks. I know that TC must have been just swept off her feet and embraced him as hard as she could. He probably whispered sweet nothings in her 'ear'. That ares is a real hero to most romantic's that still know how to show a babe how special she really is.
Just messin wit ya bra. You two are awesome together. I'm glad you both found happiness.
On another note, we're having a divorce party for a good friend of mine tonight. She gave him his papers on his birthday as a present. Some guys have all the luck. ;-)
J/K - I guess being an grumpy old married man is better than being a grumpy old unmarried man anyway.
I haven't paid rent in about 8yrs.
Been a homeowner for a while now----just closed on a different one...
Good for you. Movin up in the world then huh?
CONGRATULATIONS to ares and TC
yep..I just out grew the other one.
yep..I just out grew the other one.
Yeah, I've put on a few pounds myself as well. ;-)

Thant's ok :) For a long time I actually thought Allison was a chick :)

And sympathies too to LL for Butterscotch!
The loss of a pet can be such a hard thing to go through let alone having to try to explain loss/death to a child.
yeah-if I didnt say it before I am sooooo sorry LL about Butterscotch!!!!

good question *MoM* -my ears are open to suggestions as well :)
when my grandma died-the 5 kids sold the house and split the money -I dont ever recall deeds ever being in any of their names-
