working from home has its good and bad advantages ...You would think the soap operas would pull me away from work at home but actually I get caught up online too much. But I also get to stay in jammies if I really want to and raid the fridge inbetween jobs ;)

eh, I think if I worked at home, I'd be dangerously close to becoming a vegetable, considering most of what I'm good at working on is sitting in front of a computer, like typing this post in. Good thing I got things like geocaching and the medallion hunt goin, or I think I'd forget what the sun looks like :)

Good Evening!

Two days of working overtime will pay off on Friday with a day off. Yippeeee!!!!

Life changes all the time and it seems I will see some changes soon. Our program is being cut from our organization effective June 30th. There are negotiations ongoing with a couple other non-profits to pick us up and that is looking fairly good from what we're hearing. Of course I have just about 5 years before full retirement benefits where I am, so I'm hoping something opens up and I can stay. If not, at least there'll be a severance package and a chance to polish my resume and interviewing skills.

sorry to here about the job Terry.

Good luck tomorrow on your proceadure Clue Master. Were all praying for you.

I have good news about my brother inlaw. He's awake and responding well to the doctors and can speak. He recognized his daughters picture and said "thats my daughter". He's talking, but not a lot. He swore once, so he must be frustrated. He told my sister inlaw that he loved her and rubbed her sons head (He's 9) with his hand. They are confident that his motor skills are going to be OK, but aren't sure about his reasoning skills yet. A lot of that can be adressed with therapy. I'm releived that he is making progress. All your prayers must be working! Thanks to all of you!

NBC announces new 'Treasure Hunters' global reality "quest" series

    By Steve Rogers, 03/18/2005

NBC formally announced Thursday that it has ordered Treasure Hunters, a new ten-episode reality "quest" series that will feature multi-person teams of treasure-hunting contestants traveling the globe and using folklore, fantasy and actual history as clues to solve an intricate puzzle.

First reported by Daily Variety earlier this month, Treasure Hunters will be executive produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz and produced via their Magical Elves production company, the same folks behind the Project Runway and Project Greenlight reality shows airing on NBC's Bravo cable network.

Joining NBC and Magical Elves onTreasure Hunters' production team will be Imagine Television, the television arm of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment, and Madison Road Entertainment, a 2-year-old "branded entertainment" (ie. memorable product placement) marketing firm that's recently begun to branch into producing its own unscripted programming. As a result, the show's credits will list no fewer than seven executive producers, with Imagine's Grazer and David Nevins and Madison Road's Tom Mazza, Danica Krislovich and Jak Severson adding their names to those of Cutforth and Lipsitz.

Similar to Dreamworks Television's involvement with Mark Burnett's The Contender, the move makes Imagine Television the latest scripted production company to adopt a "if you can't beat them, join them" attitude and partner its way into the world of reality television.

"I can't wait to get started," said Nevins. "We thought a lot about what Imagine might bring to the reality television arena, and we think that with this idea and the terrific production team that has been assembled, we will be able to create an exciting event series." "Madison Road and Imagine Television partnered to raise the bar in reality TV," added a pretentious-sounding Mazza.

While Treasure Hunters' global format will no doubt evoke comparisons to The Amazing Race, the long-running CBS series that has only recently become a mainstream hit, NBC says that unlike The Amazing Race, Treasure Hunters will focus on the solving of its puzzle rather than the race itself -- a description that would appear to make the series a reality version of 2004's National Treasure hit film that starred Nicolas Cage (and like The Amazing Race, was also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.)

"It's inspired by the success of books like The Da Vinci Code," NBC Universal Cable Entertainment & Cross Network Strategy president Jeff Gaspin told Variety. Making the show sound perhaps more similar to ABC's The Mole, another modestly-received "first generation" reality series that unlike The Amazing Race, limped through several editions before eventually succumbing to low ratings, Gaspin explained how the puzzle will be the show's focus. "As opposed to focusing on the race, the show will focus on solving the puzzle," he said. "The challenge will come as they try to put the puzzle together."

Billed as "the smartest show on television" during its run, The Mole nonetheless struggled to attract viewers, with ABC eventually airing two "dumbed down" celebrity editions in an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to broaden its audience. Seeming undeterred by ABC's experience, Gaspin promises a mystery that will apparently be even more complex than those of The Mole.

"We'll use iconic locations, with a mixture of real history and folklore along with our own fantasy elements we use to create this puzzle," Gaspin told the trade paper. "It's vital to have a puzzle with complexity, so that in addition to their own brainpower, contestants will have to use the Internet and library as resources for research."

Treasure Hunters will also feature an "online component" that will also allow web-savvy viewers to get involved with the show -- a concept that also conjures up memories of another unsuccessful ABC series, Fall 2002's Push, Nevada.

Considered a "next-generation twist on reality television" Push, Nevada was executive produced by original Project Greenlight team of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Sean Bailey and Chris Moore (via their LivePlanet company, which starting with Project Greenlight 2, began teaming with Magical Elves to produce the show.) A scripted mystery series with interactive web elements that included the awarding of a $1,045,000 cash prize to its viewer winner, Push had evolved from what was originally envisioned as a fugitive-style reality project entitled The Runner. Never produced due to post-September 11 security and safety concerns, The Runner was to feature a single contestant travelling the country attempting to accomplish eight real world missions while avoiding "capture" by prize-seeking viewers.

Critically-acclaimed but poorly viewed, Push, Nevada ended up airing only seven episodes before being canceled.

According to Variety, it might not take long to discover if NBC (and Magical Elves) can succeed where ABC (and Magical Elves' LivePlanet associates) failed. While NBC has not yet released a broadcast date for the series, Variety reports that Treasure Hunters could premiere as early as late August

cool!!! wooohooo!!! they even have a part for us!!! "WEB SAVY"

a reality tv show I could possibly stand to watch? that's amazing in itself. Long as finding the treasure doesn't involve a bunch of petty bickering amongst team members, ingesting a variety of disgusting items, or performing weird and stupid stunts. If they can keep it about puzzle solving and the like, it might be worth watching.

BTW, they should just hide the treasure, and do the show live, that way anyone watching it could go and nab it if they figured it out. Would be quite the ending to the show when the "winning" team shows up, opens a treasure chest, and sees a note that says something to the effect of "too late". But the web savy bit.. I'm all over that

    Good Evening!

Was hoping to hear how the procedure went today for you CM. Hope everything is good.

We're off to get groceries for my Mom. Seems there's always something to do.

BTW - I want to say how nice it is to come here and have people getting along. Glad all the misunderstandings and resulting anger has past. Let's work to keep it that way. Life is too short for all that.

Thanks for thinking about me today you guys.  It was quite the procedure but was harmless enough even though the risks they tell you about ahead of time scare the shit out of you.  Long long precess tho.  All is OK on the serious side of things!!!  I teared up and begun thanking everyone around me in the room working on me.  I even started with the I-Love-You-Man things.  The doc said he loves me too but that I was under some influence at the time and he understood.  Great staff over there I tell you.

I can't sneeze, cough or fart for a few days so I don't bust open where they went into my main vein. (no not that one, but close)  I was thinking of you Kitch.  I had 4 pretty girls working on me and I told them that I had a friend named Kitch that would be loving this right now.  haha  No need to imagine anything.

Anyway it's time for me to finally get some rest.  I couldn't sleep at all last night or today.  Pretty beat. - from doing nothing!

    TTYL Rock On

    I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

'twas great to hear that cm.

tc's pneumonia has added bronchitis and reactive airway disease.  ugh. her blood is a virtual pharmacy right now. waiting to see if her socks start hurting or eggs start skiing down the wallpaper because of the cough suppressant she's on. (its an old allergic reaction she had once upon a time to codeine). fortunately for me, i'm on penicillin myself so i can still safely sleep next to her. after all, snuggle therapy works wonders ;)

after all, snuggle therapy works wonders

Kinda like trying to 'trade off' the illness... Works for me a lot of the time...

Hope she gets better soon, pneumonia sux, that is where all of Zacks med. problems began... Bronchitis... Not fun... I used to get it all of the time... Water, water, water.. need to flush all of the bad stuff out (meds don't do too much for it) :(

I am gonna try some snuggle therapy later (don't say it)... I have been sick for the last 3 days, hopefully the new med's will keep working... It is a combination of allergies, chest/sinus stuff, and I think alcohol shock... oh well, I 'slept' 20 hours last night, and I finally got some medicine that seems to be working...

Good luck to all... The cooler has got to be ready for an upswing soon...
