That's a common thing along the 'gauntlet'.  They're just waiting for someone to run.  I didn't see any cops at all on the way to 494 but saw 3 at one intersection on the way back a few minutes later.  About shit my pants.  Next to hwy 13 by the Moose that's the worst spot in the cities for DWI's.  Yikes

There must be a joke in there somewhere.

I broke my pitcher- went straight for the Hornitos tequila....
No, kidding... Saving that for later this Saturday.
I'm so glad Dennis isn't here to see this.

Oh- I didn't break my pitcher either. I never get THAT looped.
...Well perhaps once.
Never mind- you all just confuse me.

well..just got back from a 3hr coaching clinic....would be nice if I knew anything about soccer b4 I coach these kids....they basically told me to beware of parents ;(

Looks like I'm going to be doing a ton of googling on youth soccer this week...I'd like to know at least how to dribble a ball..

If anyone can google it, you can.  I used to play soccer.  Not sure how I would be as far as help.  I could give suggestions, but you'd probably just google them anyways.

I taught intramural soccer, volleyball and basketball after school for 5th & 6th graders.  It wasn't the parents that were so bad.  It was retaining control of the kids that was tough.  Just as you get a pretty good idea on how to keep them focussed, the seasons over.  I wasn't a coach tho. Only a teacher.  Good luck Kitch.  It is pretty fun and rewarding once you see the improvements happen before your eyes.  What ages are they going to be?

well...I figure since i'm coaching under 6..i just need 2 learn how to dribble better than an 8yr old...just enough to look OK

oh I get it now....

The following are the rules for joining our group to line up for Episode III at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Please download a PDFof the full rules form. Print and sign the form and bring it with you on the first day you come to join the line. Be sure to read our extensive FAQwhich explains our line in more depth.

  1. A Minimum $50 donation to the Starlight-Starbright Children's Foundation is due by May 4, 2005.

    • If you sign up after May 4, 2005, the minimum $50 donation is due immediately upon registration.

  2. You must be at least 16 years old to join.

    • If you are between the ages of 16 and 18, you need written permission to join from a parent or guardian.

  3. If you live within 250 miles of Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California, you need to accumulate at least 72 Hours in Line before 8:00 a.m. on May 18, 2005.

If you live further than 250 miles from Hollywood, California, you need to accumulate only 48 Hours in Line before 8:00 a.m. on May 18, 2005. Proof of travel and/or residence will be required.

  4. You are responsible for purchasing your own ticket to the opening show of Episode III. You need to be in Line with cash in hand when tickets go on sale.

    • If you cannot be in Line at that time, you must make arrangements with another member of the Line or any member of the Logistics Team to purchase tickets for you.

  5. You need to be in Line for the final 24 hours before Episode III opens.

  6. In order to accumulate Hours in Line, you must Sign In and Sign Out when you come and go.

  7. You can only be gone from the Line without Signing Out for half an hour.

    • If you are gone from the Line for more than half an hour without Signing Out, you may lose all the Hours accumulated since the time you last Signed In.

  8. There can be no harassment, intimidation, violence or threat of violence towards any member of the Line.

  9. There can be no damaging, breaking, stealing, or purposefully messing up of any stuff that belongs to any member of the Line.

  10. There can be no consumption of alcoholic beverages or recreational drugs while in Line or in the immediate vicinity of the Line.

  11. Your Total Hours in Line will determine your place in Line - both for the opening of the movie, and for the purchase of tickets. The more Hours you have, the closer to the front of the Line you will be.

  12. You can gain Hours only by waiting in Line. One hour in line will gain you one Hour towards your total Hours. There is no other way to accumulate Hours. Hours are not transferrable.

  13. Although the adjacent Grant Parking Lot is generally considered to be within the bounds of the Line, the inside of any vehicle parked in the Grant Lot is NOT in Line.

I'd do it for something I loved so much too. Remember we all have probly at one time or another camped out for concert tickets at some point in our life. Many of those fond days are over with the advent of Ticketmaster soooo the next best thing is probly movie tickets.

Too many rules- we don't need no stinkin rules!

Star Wars fans line up in Hollywood

Los Angeles April 9 2005

The new Star Wars movie "Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" is opening all over the world on May 19.

At the Imperial theatre in Copenhagen the fans have lined up for ticketson the street since March 15.

In Hollywood, outside Grauman's Chinese Theater the line started April 2.
However there is a small problem.
The Star Wars Movie will not play at the Graumans's Theatre but at the ArcLight theater a mile away.

The hardcore fans say "We've heard all this before," and claim it is a false rumor.

At the Hollywood lineup websitethey say

  • We are definitely at the RIGHT theatre!
We will remain waiting in line outside the Grauman's Chinese Theatre, in hopes that Episode 3 DOES play at the theatre, even if for one single showing only. You'd think that the fans that helped drive Star Wars to what it is today at least deserve that much for this last final episode in the Star Wars saga.

The story about the fans lining up at the wrong theatre is all over the world even at CNN, and BBC,
