KT
Mom, That would be good enough, although I do understand the loading up the kids dilemma. Some days it hardly seems worth it, and staying home IS quality time.
based on the recent posts, KT thinks that she may be in dire need of recognition, as she has filled up a thesis of self-gratifying conversation with herself. Sorry. ;)
The other threads must be made of cotton. Mine are apparently made of rayon, as they make people itch. My son Matt just showed up with 33 donuts, put them on my counter, and left. I have no clue what to do with these yeasty, vile creatures.
K T, I like to read your posts about Hannah. Wolves have been a passion of mine, too, for most of my life. I've probably read all the literature there is on them. I never did get to the Ely wolf center when I lived in Minnesota, but I hope to visit it someday.
Just curious, did you get Hannah from a breeder in or near Annandale? I heard there was one thereabouts. Also, do you have a pic of her you could post?
I would be interested in getting together, if you want, to to see if Gypsy and Hannah could be friends. Gypsy if spayed and is very friendly with other dogs. She is submissive and has never been aggressive with other dogs. She likes to run and chase and play just like you described...and she always lets the other dog decide how the play goes.
We can't make it to the bonfire as my husband plays darts on Sunday nites and we can't be 2 places at the same time. I was really disappointed to hear you were going with Hannah and we couldn't come so I could meet her and you.
Crafty, Isn't it ironic, the statements you made about pit-bulls, when many say the same types of things about wolves? :) Muskwa, the breeder used to live near Brainerd, but I have no idea where he is now.
I think the problem is that most owners (of "problem" animals) don't take the time to really learn about their animals and take precautions accordingly, like KT does. Alot of people get these kinds of pets for novelty(its the thing to do)and then lose interest, or for fighting or profits and treat them accordingly. I think 75%(or more, thats being kind)of the problems stem from the owners, 25% from the animals nature.
With that I'm off to wally world to spend some of my hard(ly) earned money!
It sounds like KT is VERY RESPONSIBLE & UNDERSTANDING of her animal. I'm glad that I don't have to keep reinforcing the fact that my husband & I are the "alpha" over & over.
Don't forget the bonfire starts tomorrow at 4pm Daylight Savings Time! I'm feeling better, but not completely. I think I'll be able to make it, but not sure that I should be playing with food right now. Maybe I'll just bring some pop.
as for the marshmallows, i dunno what i'm gonna do. i've got more hershey's chocolate than i know what to do with :) oh well. after the easter candy is gone....
There's a guy on Food TV that does really cool stuff with chocolate...turns it into champagne bottles with chocolate labels and stuff. As for me, I'd freeze it, so as to not lose the the aura it picked up being with all of us...:)LL,me thinks you have some small, very muddy clothes to wash. ;)
I would SO love to sleep, but there are freshly washed, very loud tennies in my dryer. Dan got home safely, but with no more trout. Whew!! I hoped I wouldn't have to cook anymore today. Terry, the little roaster is great, but would skewer the meat out of most hot dogs :P
i would so love to sleep too. unfortunately, an 11am wakeup and all the caffeine in my veins are doing a fine job of keeping me awake. i may have to go pop a couple of benadryl here quick.
Marley, hope you get commission from the parts YOU pull! P.S., the snow geese were cool, huh? Hi Artemis!!!!... I told Dan about the deer snorting , and the first thing he said was "He's lucky he didn't get gored." Those must be cooool pics! Shoes are dry, g'nite, thanx for the poetry.
The ride home was not much fun for us due to me observing a police car and ops went right through a stop sign right in front of her.Think maybe its an entrapment kind of thing. Stop sign not lit up at all and officer parked right there like it happens all the time.(st.anthony ave and east river road)For $105 bucks think I will take some pictures and fight it!
Kt-my bro owns the place, so ya all kinds of commision, like free parts, a $50 escort and all kinds of fringe benefits.
marley, i've been told that stop sign/red light tickets are the hardest to fight (this came from a lawyer, who had some experience fighting a few tickets herself). considering that the only way to really fight a speeding ticket is to pray that the officer doesn't show up, your chances are probably nil. on the other hand....my brother's received 2 tickets. one for speeding, one red light. he went to court they presented him with "the program" because of his clean record. pay the fine as "court costs", keep a clean record for a year, and its like it never happened. now this was in ramsey county, and your intersection sounds like its in that other county, your mileage may vary. good luck, regardless.
I think the officer would show up.Minneapolis park patrol, they cant be to busy. But I think a jury would see my point(maybe).Stop signs are supposed to be for safty not making money.Would make more sense to lite the stop sign properly then to have an officer sit there and hand out tickets.Just think when the officer is on a dougnut break and a pedestrian gets hit when someone runs the stop sign.
Terry, I love that nick-name for andy! I guess he will have to be an official cooler-crew member now! he was pretty tired but he made it all the way home without falling asleep, probably due to the fact that I am a "big meenie" for making him come home. LOL! he was not ready to leave and he made sure I knew it! I think "little roaster" is going to be a bear to wake up this morning! I had a blast last night! thanks everyone! we must do this again soon!
yep, frosti, you missed a really nice fire, and some very interesting conversation that won't ever, ever be mentioned here (yes, me2, i'm talking to you)
Mom, That would be good enough, although I do understand the loading up the kids dilemma. Some days it hardly seems worth it, and staying home IS quality time.
It is 68 degrees in Kennewick, WA.

evenin' kt. just been catching up my reading over in other threads.

Good to hear you're feeling better! Looking forward to the bonfire! Still not sure what to bring though, I guess I'll figure it out in the morning.
Nobody else should probably bring Doritos :)Or smoked trout.
:: crosses doritos off his shopping list ::
however, in honor of the hunt, i still hold that pringles are obligatory, and will thus be bringing some of them. along with ingredients for s'mores.
I hope y'all have a good time at the bonfire -- wish I could join you and meet all of you. How's the weather up there today?
Muskwa, A balmy, snow-melting 50,cloudy, with a few passing, snow-melting sprinkles.
Hello Hello
Ares whenever you need that injector(for your tempo)just let me know, its almost free.
Kt-I love the wolf stories.
Im thinking of dumping a bucket of water on artemis to wake her up. Think she will get mad?hehe
See you all later today.
We'll do hot dogs and buns and condiments.
We got back south here. We brought a trunk full of wood for the fire, some homemade banana nut bread and will probably have some sort of chips too.
It's gonna be so cooler to see everyone again!
Hey Artemis! We'll have hot dogs too...just as soon as Inks gets back from the store. :-)
We also have some plastic silverware and some plates.
MMM Banana Bread! I was thinking we'll pick up some potato salad too.
Just be sure NOT to do 24 pounds of the stuff!
LMAO! I got an e-mail from Green recently, it was good to hear from her.
i've got the pringles and the ingredients for s'mores. and some barbecuing equipment if i can find it. and a propane torch.
This is going to be really fun! I can hardly wait.
Thanks everyone for a great evening! We definately need to do this often.
KT - The smoked fish was great as were the dips that I tasted - I didn't taste the "not mild" one. Hannah is gorgeous.
The marshmallows were great Ares - especially the ones done by the little roaster. :-)
Artemis & Marley - the potato salad was really good! It surprised me a bit because often the store bought stuff is lacking something.
Allison - Great fire building - as usual.
I best keep on going here. There's a few things left to do before bedtime tonight.
agreed, terry.
as for the marshmallows, i dunno what i'm gonna do. i've got more hershey's chocolate than i know what to do with :) oh well. after the easter candy is gone....

Ares - You can always roast marshmallows over a stove and have all the s'mores you want!
I almost forgot about those cookies! Those snowmen with the M&M eyes were soooooo clever! I would love the directions/recipe for those.
Now I'm done for the night. Time to hit the hay.
Goodnight and SCDs everyone!
g'nite, terry.
actually, i can roast them with the torch :)
which reminds me. someone remind me tomorrow to take that thing outta my trunk!
Hello everyone!
Artemis and I had a good time at the bonfire.Definitely should do that again soon!

Geez, Ares! try tylenol PM, Not antihistamine(sp) ...or read cheezy books. You shoulda had fish. it makes you sleepy.
hmmm. benadryl active ingredients: diphenhydramine hcl, pseudoephedrine hcl. tylenol pm active ingredients: diphenhydramine hcl, acetominophen.
given that diphenhydramine is the antihistamine, it really doesn't matter :)

But if the officer is getting a doughnut, they won't be there to distract you from seeing the sign.

KT, Me thinks I might leave those clothes for MR.LIQUOR!
Glad everybody had fun last night, but we couldn't make it. Regrets all.
yep, frosti, you missed a really nice fire, and some very interesting conversation that won't ever, ever be mentioned here (yes, me2, i'm talking to you)
last one back is a rotten egg!!!!!
last one back is a rotten egg!
last one back is a rotten egg!
Sorry we missed the party last night. Did everyone see the anchors in and on the air? hee hee
Any more plans for a spring/summer hunt?
No specific plans yet. Just some vague notions. Do you think people would be up for a weeklong thing by then? Or maybe a one day hunt would be better?
