So it's in a cookie or bread....I found some of that already...Think I'll go back and see if there's more.

We were out scouting parks tonight. Highland is out but a couple people digging. Mounds is out though there were quite a few people digging. Cherokee is definately it - especially with this last clue. Hardly anyone there earlier. I bet that's changed!

Oops, I mean message 1545. I was a Mounds fan before, now I'm thinking Cherokee.

RE double division: OK, but mounds (we're talking indian mounds, there is also a mounds, but that's not it) borders on both south st paul and west st paul. I also think the large object in view that will guide you refers to the aircraft radio tower at indian mounds (used to guide planes to holman). As for "Mother Lode": Combine that with rosebud to get mama rosa as a container. But I still like the idea of rosebud as a reference to larry hodgson's memorial at como.

What is the elevation of cherokee? Indian mounds has an elevation marker.

Enough about clues, to me the best part of the hunt each year is being out in the field and having people ask you stupid questions. What are your favorites? Here are mine, with my answers:

So, you think it's over here, eh? No, but I got tired of digging over there.

Found anything yet? Yeah, I found it two hours ago, but I love digging in 40 below weather so much, I just kept at it.

Are you looking for the medallion? No, I lost my poodle in a snowbank.

anyway, ryan, only ramsey county residents are eligible to collect the prize money... so even if you could get there from stillwater, it wouldn't do any good

Ryan, Cherokee is across the High Bridge. Can you get yourself to downtown St. Paul? If so, take 7th to Smith and you'll be at the High Bridge. Cherokee is just across the bridge on the West St. Paul side.

For doodledog, Cherokee is directly across the HIGH bridge. Don't know the elevation but it is high ground,

Does anyone else think the word "track" in clue 6 was just a rhymer for stack? I wonder if RR tracks have nothing to do with it.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 11:54 PM Permalink

there are train tracks right by cherokee. can't miss em.

A rosebud pastry would be a good thing to savor in Cherokee. Just don't go into Lilydale....duke

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 11:56 PM Permalink

this might be way off, but do you think double division might refer to RR tracks?

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 11:56 PM Permalink

Can also see tracks from Mounds...I'm still in favor of Mounds. (Though, sitting at my computer doesn't accomplish anything...its cold and dark though....brrrrrrr!)

there are train tracks, woods, water, and places where kids go zoom, all over st paul, not to mention that seven hills provide a lot of high ground!

It doesn't seem as if clue 7 helped out much. It makes Cherokee look pretty inviting, but it's not certain. Hmmm

In two, it talks about water and woods in the neighborhood, both of those streets are in the neighbor hood of cherokee

Selma, where is Dome Park and Division street? I've never heard of it.

Fri, 01/30/1998 - 11:59 PM Permalink

there are two streets, COlorado runs east/west, DElaware runs north/south. They don't actually intersect, but if they are extended to their intersection point, there is a place of double division there

CO. + DE. == code?
