1999 Pioneer Press Medallion Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

It's time for the Medallion Hunt! The first clue will appear on PioneerPlanet just after midnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Come back here to compare notes with other treasure seekers, but be certain you read the rules on the Planet's Winter Carnival page.

Is it possible that by standing at one end of a row of trees you would be able to see some sort of sign in a distance? What is the "sign"?

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 11:24 PM Permalink
Sister Sister

Rock - No. Trees in a line, lead to a sign. They are trying to give us a street name - that's the sign - a street sign. What street.

Last year - everyone helped each other on this message board - that is what it is designed for. If you can't say something, then you should get off and not post

messages about secrets in emails!

there are only lines of trees at Highland... no clumps... if it is at highland i know exactly where

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 11:27 PM Permalink

This is really too easy. OK knotheads I will decipher the latest clue for you. According to Webster a row of trees is a hEDGE. The street, like I told you all before is

EDGCUMBE. Is that Clear enough. THE MEDALLION IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL. I suppose I'll have to just go get it

myself, even though I don't need the money.

I agree with Sister Sister. This is a place to SHARE ideas not brag about how you know where it is and everyone doesn't.

I also agree with Allison Wonderland. I'm looking at the clues and trying to spell something with them.

Sister Sister is right. The sign is a street sign and the name on the sign is revealed in this clue through some kind of wordplay. But I don't see it yet.

DAMN CROSSING THING ANYWAY HOW DO YOU GET EDGECUMB FROM HEDGE? THIS CLUE IS PERFECT FOR NEWELL.

Think "first" of trees...How about Pinehurst (Pinefirst!!)--runs right into HP. What do you think??? Rob??

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 11:38 PM Permalink
Sister Sister

Grannie - Allison and I are on the same track - you too Geo. Its a wordplay, an anagram, something like what hunting4it is saying - but I dont get Edgecumbe from

just Hedge.

think i will try bc i only live a mile from there

Fri, 01/29/1999 - 11:41 PM Permalink

Susie - I was thinking Pinehurst also!! First, Hurst. I think this might be it. Line refers to a street. Hmmm - looking at my Hudson Map though, Pinehurst runs right

into the golf course part of the park. Would have to see in person. Maybe it is just really close the the course - that's why they told us NOT to go on the course.

What do you think?

Grannie - you and #2 should check this out!!

HIGH. Then take the ten grand and go to school.
