Yeah no kidding. Pie sucks. I atill think it's in Newell. Pie smells. And the clue tonight should point us to the exact -go away Pie- location.

I think Pie was one of the Girl Scouts

Im just keeping my options open on Hidden Falls cause in clue four with the SWRA as the first letters, SouthWestRegionalArea, and there is really only one park there. (excluding Crosby Farm). You really cant say it isnt somewhere yet, because they have either been so vague or there is more to the clues than i think we are seeing :) thats not to say it couldnt be one of still many many parks, ill post my list of all parks by size in a sec . people that keep saying Swede Hollow park, i went there last year on like clue 3/4, and i hope you realize how small this park actually is. It is basically a scenic overlook , which is on a dangerously steep hill for kiddies to be near, i can assure you they wouldnt put it there :)

The majority of the land associated with the park on the map is the steep hill itself.

SueBee whats up? Well funny feeling about this 6 clue. It says well trained with a - between the words and that - is not supposed to be there. And last year they had us going to Newell until the last few clues and now its saying to be well-trained.

OK one more time, but with more detail.

What does anyone think of Arlington/Arkwright?

Clue#2: pace, chase, ace = racing, chasing and winner, Clue #1: Cavort = prancing as in horse

SO horse racing = Arlington horse track

Clue#4: gain relief from the rain = by looking up "ARK" in the dictionary it is a shelter from the rain, as I Noah’s Ark

Clue #4: also has Well = which could mean, "right "

SO PUT CLUE 1, 2 and 4: together you get Arlington/Arkwright Park

Also Clue #3: A tower or two should come in view

At night you can see two radio towers to the north,

or if you look through the trees from Ivy street which runs into the park you can see a tower.

So Ivy tower and a Tower comes into view through the trees.

Clue #6: there is a railroad track near by, the munger trail.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? ANYONE OUT THERE HELP!!!!!!!

When #6 came out, I gave up on Phalen as I could *not* get it to fit. But then I got an idea 'bout the Gateway Trail - part of the Wm. Munger Trail that goes on the old Soo(Bee) Line. In fact... Oh, never mind.

Anyway, went out there 2day and was ssssssooooo disappointed! Figured, "Damn! I made the clue fit the park!" But I kept driving around...

And had one of those moments that makes you so weak you almost lose control o'your bladder. Thank gods I was in the car else I'd have fallen in a heap. And I looked around me... And almost passed out. I could NOT believe my eyes!

Did some more driving to a different area for a look-see. And almost cried. I could not believe it. No stretching, nothing.

Clear as a bell! Fit like a glove.

I shook the entire way home.

I know the popular wisdom is "Never again at Mounds"...but does anyone like Mounds? Cruised through today and it looked good...was out at Newell for about an hour...just doesn't look/feel right...I was totally with Phalen until clue #6...but I can't make that one work enough...I hope tonight's helps nail it down...but I kind of like Mounds at the moment...anyone else?

Fri, 01/28/2000 - 6:18 PM Permalink
green

Sorry. Meant to say I was disappointed because the Gateway/Munger Trial runs right thru Keller, north o'Frost. No way MomP'd use that as a clue.

Searcher, dont mean to rain on your parade, but think it's not that complicated a meaning. Good ideas, but doubt they would go into that deep of detail. Good Noodling though..

Not mounds and not arlington and arkwright possibly phalen everything fits in and if you look close enough it tells you where it is

"A well-trained eye is one reason why a good hunter stays on the right track."

An un-trained (unknowing) eye's gonna pick the wrong track!

As I said, there are many different "tracks" at Phalen.

And #6 wants you to be able to see *this* particular one. Just like you gotta see the towers.

We've now two clues for sighting, lining up.

And directions have been nailed down. At least three, anyway.

Man, if it's in a park as big as Phalen, you'd think they'd have given us the park name by now, no? I bet we get it tonight.

Searcher, I think you have to read the clues generally, more than one word at a time. That is to say you can't just pick out certain words and forget the rest. Looking at last year's clue, only once did a single word have a double meaning (orient, hinting it was on the east side)

SueBee, in my opinion, they've given us the name o'the park not once, but twice, in Clue #1.
