Greg: I'm not familiar with that park. What about shelters or train tracks?

Weentany--as a downtown resident--I am currently not downtown, but across for newell--It will not be in rice--epicenter of carnival activities today--anyone showing up with lots of shovels will be asked to cease by security--they are trying to protect sculptures--downtown is a mess today--

Theres a rec. building to escape from the rain. There is also train tracks just north of the park on the other side of 35e. The park is close to Spanky's Bar.

Thanks for the report Dave! We haven't been out digging yet but we've gone through the THG about a hundred times. I believe NP is place this year! The woman and I are headin' out shortly and we won't forget the rake.

Weren, Yes, Palace is at the bottom of the crocus hill. Near the intersection of 35e and victoria. You can see the Linwood rec ctr from Palace park.

HI- been to Newell seems too easy almost which worries me- alot can fit unless we are all reading it too easily- tonites clue may frustrate the heck out of us I fear.. but back to Newell after we down these warm brownies- good treasure huntin meal! The kids just want to build fires and play- can't get em to dig! Good luck all- see ya at Newell and beware of Bob! He can get a bit driven and over the edge- like a few others I guess!

I have been looking at cherokee I know this is a long shot but here goes:

1. Park in St Paul

2. Not much of anything if you look in past clues the second clue a lot of times doesn't refer to much of anything

3. Smoke Stacks accross the river

4. Pavillions aplenty - Baker street runs into Cherokee Ave

5. Cloudy and foul = Mississippi River Opp/attract ped and bike side walk and E. and W. Water street join here

6. cherokees use to HUNT for their food and stay on the attack until it was found (just like us we hunt for med until it is found)

7. Merry Go Round?? Haven't been out there today to see what else this fits but they all seem to work out

well i too have been at newell this AM. Came back home for a warmup. Newell sure seems to fit. I also did a little checking over at swede hollow (no - but, interesting park) and Mounds (the hunter clues seem to fit well there). Maybe i'll go for a spin and then back over to newell. Fresh eyes. See ya there!

Okay, I checked out Newell too, but there are some things that don't fit. What about the towers? I see towers, but not in the direction of Boreas...

Sat, 01/29/2000 - 2:23 PM Permalink
leelabell

I really don't want it to be at Newell. However, I think the towers fit. I believe the towers to the west are "the towers". I think the medallion is located either in the north or west of the park (king boreas direction).

Sat, 01/29/2000 - 2:25 PM Permalink
leelabell

oops, north or east of the park

Sat, 01/29/2000 - 2:40 PM Permalink

palace rec center is right opposite the freeway from linwood... the ONLY other place from the above mentioned 4 that i might check out... otherwise i believe all the rest r out of the running

Why is the capital still on your list? I can't seem to make all the clues fit there.

I have another half baked theory. I was thinking battle creek park. Hence the word "attack" and opposites attract it is between lower and upper afton roads. IT has a few pavillions,a couple grills and to the north there is a couple towers in view.I know it's a long shot....

Hello all!!! I just came back from my hunt of the day!!! I went to: 1. Highland Park---hardly anyone was in the "park" on Montreal...but there were tons of people in the race track...and in the tennis courts! The only thing I can't figure out is how today's clue relates to Highland Park 2. Linwood Park--no one is there!!!! 3. Newell park...this was the most packed park!!! People were digging everywhere! I think the medallion may be between the tennis courts and the state fair ride (turning machine) off in the distance. Any other ideas? 4. Como Park was incredibly packed...but for the events I think...it's too busy there to hide the Medallion there...and 5. Phalen Park (finally found it!) is not even touched! No one is there looking!!! Plus there are no towers over there!

Any more ideas?!
