Derick - Suggestion for your Apple Cider idea. You need one of those back pack things that can carry liquid. I have seen them full of coffee downtown when the marathon is on. I have also seen them at the state fairgrounds. They look just like a backpack and have a holder for cups too. I don't know where you can get one, but something to look into so that you are even more mobile.
As for the East/West thing. I am not very good with clues or with whats in all the parks, but correct me if I am wrong. Isn't Highland Park in two pieces. Could it be that one side of the park is on the Eastside of a street and the other side of the park is on the Westside of a street? I don't know the streets around Highland, but I think it has a picnic shelter on one side of the street and the disc golf course on the other. There is a little bridge you can go on that crosses the street. Am I thinking of the correct park?
J: It's called a camelback hydration system. I have something like that from the Army. The only problem is it would only be enough for me. I may or may not use it, but I wouldn't use it to give apple cider in the field. That is a good idea though!
Here's an idea: why dont they just incorporate no golf courses into the rules and then they wouldnt have to waste a clue telling us that its not on a golf course! or am I asking to much?
You Ninjas were mentioning parks that are split in half by stuff, well, last night, when me and my homies were lookin, we checked Linwood, and its cut sorta in half by 35E
Correct me if I'm wrong - Isn't Mississippi River Blvd ALSO East River Road? As in (East) River road and (West) 7th Street. Both meet at HF> I've said this before but people keep referencing the East as the East side of the river when it's actually on the North side of the river there where the river bends anyway. Oh well, just an idea...
AW - Not to ? your insights, but are you positive about your reason for the East/West? I love that idea better than all of them if it totally fits and it's not off by a block or 2.
hey, Ninja, im not fighting i was simply asking what you all thought of Palace and Linwood, and then I got no answer, so im talkin to the only person talking back at me, even though he musta gotten outta the wrong side of bed today.
wearing white what? Being its cold out whatever I wear will be immediatly covered by a jacket / parka/ blanket/ all of the above. Unless your talking about outer wear, in which case I dont believe I could have ordered my flame thrower in white.
well, I already posted that Linwood was cut off ( east and west) by 35E. I dont know what else might fit there, besides havin a playground. but its really close to Palace and Palace had a buncha stuff that fit in, a horseshoe pit, a rainbow, hockey rink, baseball fields, etc....so I dont know. What do you people think ANYONE??
I dont know about Linwood, I havent been there yet, but its worth checking out, as long as its a park and its in Saint Paul. I dont like Palace though, you know how every year, you get "that feeling" that your in the right park? well, Palace doesnt give me that. I like Phalen, naturally, because i live so close, im like right across the street. But Highland might be good also.
Barbie, no I'm not looking right now. I'm at work today but will probably be looking after work.
Clue Master, I am 98% sure about the east-west thing, as least according to the map I used and my personal experience as to where that line is.
Violent J- I don't think Linwood extends beyond 35E, so I don't think the east west would mean that. As for Palace, I don't know enough about it, but the only things I've seen linking it to the clues so far seem to be stretches.
Hey, Ninjas, I was thinkin Como last night too, but my associate Shaggy 2 Dope, informed me that Como is where all the "winter carnival festivities" take place, and they were all bitchy the last time it was hidden there, cause everything got destroyed.
Just got caught up on all the action since last night. I like Hidden falls but for some reason I'm still stuck on Crosby. In any case, I think the East/West clue refers to the banks of the river and ye ol' treasure will be found along one side of the river, east or west?
But I mean hey, if you wanna search out there go ahead, its cool, cause if its not there, everyone that actually is in the right park is closer and will have to deal with less people.
I answered my own question by doing a little research. FYI - Not only is Highland park split North/South by Montreal. It also is split East/West by Edgecumbe. Bank = Edge of something? Maybe there is a connection. Thoughts?
I agree with your friend about Como. They have the snow slide, the snow sculptures and the ice maze there. Plus it was there just 4 years ago.
As for the hunt being tougher this year, I don't think they meant the clues would be trickier. After all, I doubt the clue writer became suddenly smarter (unless there's a new one?) I think the plan was to just be more vague and use a small park that most people have never even heard of.
Could Be...Highland Has the Two Blue water Towers (Circular Thinking) and I believe clue #2 says there is golf course/statue but do not go there (do not annoy) and steer clear of rivate ground (Police station, Stadium, swimming pool, water towers, Arena and it's parking lot)

deb: you gonna tell us where?
close
Whats up yall, im back up in here. That "Crap Face" dude hasnt been here yet today has he?

So whato do you people think about Palace and Linwood?
I am thinking Harriet Island. This is just my first instinct.
Re Highland...it is split North and South by Montreal.
You Ninjas were mentioning parks that are split in half by stuff, well, last night, when me and my homies were lookin, we checked Linwood, and its cut sorta in half by 35E
TCBOO, I suspect the reason may be that not everyone reads the rules in detail. On the other hand, just about everyone reads the clues.
Allison your not out looking today or did you already

I was driving around Phalen today and didn't see many people yet
Ok then, dont anyone answer my questions all at once!
Hey hey hey! Im here! just got back from work. How is everyone (except Violent J) and what are the topics of the day?
AW - Not to ? your insights, but are you positive about your reason for the East/West? I love that idea better than all of them if it totally fits and it's not off by a block or 2.
3 years ago cooler crew members started wearing white to identify themselves so we could say high while digging.
So is anyone gonna holla at me about Linwood and Palace or do i just naturally assume that you dont like clowns. (I alreday know one of you dont)
yeah, I'll "holla" at you AHHHH!!!! ITS A CLOWN!!! lol!
Anyone else?
c'mon, do we have to put up with this fighting between you two again?...

Yes, ok, look, "Violent J" lets make a truce (for now anyways, lol)....now what about Palace and Linwood?

what about McDonough? It is sandwiched between west arlington and east arlington?
still like the depressed means a hill
depressed = DEEP-REST = COMA = COMO???
McDonough? wheres that? I know a McMurray, but I dont think I know McDonough
A hill is sort of the opposite of depressed. A valley is more like a depression.
As for depressed = Como, my opinion is that anything that requires more than one step is not likely to be right, and that requires 3 steps.
well they said that it will be tougher this year.

McDonough @ 1544 Timberlake St. Paul. between Jackson and Rice. It is the dividing point of east and west Arlington
Last night someone brought up West Minnehaha- hs anyone been by there?
But I mean hey, if you wanna search out there go ahead, its cool, cause if its not there, everyone that actually is in the right park is closer and will have to deal with less people.
PalinaJOE!
St. Paul is only located on one side of the river...
All -

Anyone notice that steer also could be trees. Stay on yours toe, maybe its not buried this year.

Has anyone been to Battle Creek rec-center?
but they say those things every year!!
circular could be the trunk of the tree????????
