Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
My Dalliance
Nadho, you owe Me2. I think you should have to set her up for the 7000.
Wouldn't you rather hold out for a better joe? I think you should wait until 10,000. The way you guys post in here that will be in about an hour or so.
Hi Phillip. We're all certifiable, being in here 2 days before the first clue, that's for sure. You'll be glad to know that no one in here knows which park yet.
probably, md. also, the meters of the first clues are for the most part identical from 93 to the present. not just the length of the lines, but the actual rhythm of them.
come on, md. if you think thats bad some of us were in here when the board opened on the 19th of december. a few of us were still even chatting on the '01 board before this one came along.
No, I am not the cluewriter, nor will i ever be, for that would take the fun out of the hunt. Anyway, i was thinking, is the medallion hidden now. It must be, for the medallion is always under snow and has little or no tracks by it. Or do they really not hide it until saturday?
Back from looking at the posts. Great discussion, sorry I missed it. I'm not on much in the evening, just during the day when work permits me too. Now next week, that will be a different story.
Ares, having a web site and keeping it current would be like taking on an extra job and not being paid for it. Kinda like the medallion hunt without the actual $10,000. Well, I guess, it's a lot of fun to participate and chatting with all you fine people.
Clues are grouped, 1-3 location within city/warnings, 4-6 what park has to offer/direction e,w,n,s of citie's, by 5-6th history . Should be near or in park. Rest of clues lead you to direct location of the plastic within park-naming streets, trees in numbers or rocks, they really don't go down to paces anymore, just general location.
What I've enjoyed is the opportunity to meet some great people and learn more about Ramsey County. If it wasn't for the hunt, I wouldn't know anything about Ramsey County except the fact that St. Paul is part of it. History is so interesting. How come I didn't think that way though in school. Hummm.
MD... I have been sitting in this room for the past few days or so... and I am sure glad I have not passed up that post about what park it was in for sure. :-) Just be nice to get it under way and let the excitment loose.
I love trying to play "catch up" with you guys- just went to look at AW's ideas and info- printed it-now gotta go get my husband from work-will read up while waiting for him at work. I will talk with you all later tonight.
Does anyone else think that this is the year that they hide the med. in a park that it has never been in before? I am starting to get a sneaking suspicion that they may. Then again, I have a sneaking suspicion about the capitol mall and Harriet Island.
So what I'm wondering is if we should get some sort of game going for Saturday? In the past we've played hunt trivia games but I think we've exhausted that possibility, especially since Jake knows just about everything. I was thinking of maybe making up some virtual hunt with clues. People could be on teams and with each clue narrow down where they think the treasure is. Id have to work out the details, but something like that.
They do shoot the fireworks after the Torchlight parade from Harriet Island, but it's not Day 7, it's Day 14, and the hunt should be definitely be done by then.
That sounds good Allison. However, wouldn't preparation for that be really time consuming? Also, would we have to find the exact location or just the park? I like the thought though.
Yup! The torchlight parade will be the last event of the Winter Carnival - except for the rehash bash. The medallion needs to be found by the Wednesday night prior to the Torchlight Parade.
Lots of noodling going on here today...and we are still clueless!
It may take some time. I have until Saturday night. It would depend on how I structure the game too. Maybe it wouldn't be a hunt exactly, but rather a contest to see who can solve the most clues. I'm tossing a few different ideas around right now.

Whoaaa, Ares! Your English teacher would be so proud.
Part quantum physicist, part songwriter, part bloodthirsty war god, part poet! What else ya got?
Do any of you think that hidden falls is out of the question and do you think any other parks would be x'd out.
no she wouldn't md. she hated me. i hated her. we had a nice little respect going for each other.
keep it up frosti! I've got a P B & contraseptive jelly sandwich with your name on it! :)
Me2, Allison had a post earlier in the day listing the likely, possible, and unlikely parks, and why. According to his analysis, Hidden was likely.
thanks MD, I will try to find it.
Back again, have to leave again shortly. To much going on!
It's 6652.
Hidden Falls - Rushing water, Kids, Parking.
Unless Crosby?
So are we assuming that the clue writer is new from 93-present?
I think, based on the information we have (practically none), it's a good assumption.
Then we should really only focus on the years 93- present and work with those clues to see if there are common patterns.
Mike, are you the clue writer, trying to throw us? :)
Hey, gang. Been to busy with work today to even check in. Looks like some talk on possible parks. You can tell it's getting closer.
Ares, I forgot to mention that I checked out your website. Kinda neat. You didn't have a photo of you though.
Hi TD. You might want to check out posts 6652 and 6666 for some really good insight from today.
Thanks, MD. I'll go and check them out now.
Also, 6639 and 6657 for Allison's and Ares' Cooler theme songs.
Speaking of Hotel Coolerfornia, I'm checkin'out.
see 6708 for breakdown of last clue of past 10 hunts

you're not the first to notice that, td! actually if you look you can probably see a reflection in one or more of the charlie brown pics.

Of course I'm just guessing. Luck is always good!

I don't think the Capitol Mall. The last thing they need is the Gov. Beating people up claiming that it is his land and the medallion should be his
If he comes near me I'll slam my shovel over his empty bald head!!
Harriet Island might be good, but don't they shoot the fireworks from there after the torchlight parade? That would be day 7, prime time for the hunt?

Maureen I am great looking foward to a good hunt this year. Hopeing anothe white bear laker (such as myself) can find it this year
That sounds good Allison. However, wouldn't preparation for that be really time consuming? Also, would we have to find the exact location or just the park? I like the thought though.
Good call, it is the 2nd of Feb isn't it.
Good Evening!
