Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.
l and a mommy
DAL finally showed up 2 hours late??? AHHHH knew I should have stuck around for a while longer but Lisa was getting sleepy...she was asleep before we hit Marshall me thinks :-)
Well no there is no age limit. That's a different club of mine.
Last year the prize was two tickets to a Saints Game. Not sure if that will be the prize again or not, but it will probably be something like that.
The first clue will come out on a Sunday, not sure exactly which one just yet, though I'm shooting for 3 weeks from today.
The clues come out one a day at 7pm each day. I post them here, on my website, and I mail them to members of the Allison Wonderland club.
The item you are looking for is a treasure chest (assuming I get it back in time) about the size of a jewelery box. It will be in a public park in St. Paul, hidden, but not in any place that you would need to destroy something to get to it or go anywhere you shouldn't be going.
There will be a phone number and a message inside the chest. When you find it you're supposed to call the number and give the secret message.
Terry it was great meeting you as well and Lisa already knows she is precious...I think she was showing off today she is never that happy!! She never fussed once!!!
sniffle sniffle yeah she probably brought her hubby with her....do you know what time it was she finally showed? I tried to call her before I left and thought she might be on her way....
Actually it was My Dalliance's husband. In fact he was the one I was talking to when I realized why they write such simplistic clue explanations (hmmm, not sure that came out right). The clues may actually be more complex, but if they put the complex stuff in there, some people might read it and think "This stuff is too hard for me" and quit participating. By putting simple explanations for the clues, even if they are not exactly the correct ones, they make everyone believe that they at least have a chance at figuring out the clues.
Green-- That will go down as my *finds* for the year: 1. Ares exists, and he is an interesting fellow. Prior to this, I thought he was a computer simulation of some kind. 2. The Insane Clown Posse are really clowns! Kudos to you fellows form coming to the PP in full regalia. This hunt need more characters.
And several other neat people, including, but not limited to: 3 sisters. I always got in line at the PP next to them. Nice gals. My Dalliance, Chris Digger, Randy Rust, and the other crew from the Paper. Thanks for introducing yourselves, and keeping me company in line.
Thanks also, to all returing Cooler Folks--this is my fourth year, and I really do look forward to hanging with all of you.
Now, if only we can recruit some more SINGLE ladies...I've got hunting of my own to do, you know.
well like I said to some people earlier...no more worries about a cooler crew person finding the medallion because me, Dal, and Lil Slim are going to be finding it next year :-) bad clues or not we will find it :-)
I sure had fun today. It's always nice to know the faces behing the posts. Thanks for the good time. May the force of the Medallion be with all of you. Good Luck and have fun while digging!
I think because the double words were used in clue 4 in conjunction with the baseball terms, it may have been a secret clue implying that one should look around 2nd base. "Be fair" may have meant stay in fair territory for both fields where it indeed was.
Allison--I thought of that, but really, if that were the clue writer's intent--wouldn't he/she have claimed credit for that in the exaplanation? I think that is a case where we WANT to find a hidden message--just cause we crave it.
Well Dave, I do have a singles club I run for the 25-35 age group (roughly). Still working on getting related groups going for other age groups, but that one at least is going if anyone is interested. We're always looking for new members. It's not really a dating service of any sort though. More of an activity club for single people who are finding it hard to make friends or meet people otherwise. But we have had some people in the club start dating. If you or anyone is interested you can write me or the links to the club are on my profile here.
I half suspect the explanations are written by someone other than the cluewriter. The cluewriter probably tells that person what the clues really mean, but then they edit it and "dumb it down" for the masses. Maybe that's part of why the job of cluewriter seems to be an unpopular one at the paper.
Anyway, I'm going to go rest for a while and then I have an errand to run. Also need to figure out where to hide the treasure for the Mock Hunt. Any requests? hehe.

Lettuce see...
Ares doesn't xsist, The Clowns don't xsist, Brown doesn't xsist. Am I forgetting anybuddy?
We've fallen into a black hole!
Rules for the Mock Hunt?

Those are all the rules I can think of off hand.
Terry it was great meeting you as well and Lisa already knows she is precious...I think she was showing off today she is never that happy!! She never fussed once!!!
Wright Winger didn't show up this year either! I wonder if he was afraid of scorching his pants again.
We're not gonna like it.
Yah. She brought some handsome man... Hubby? SO? They got there really late. Chit-chatted a titch, didn't eat.
We're not going to like what, Ian?
What aren't we gonna like, Ian?
Have you found something about the new boards?

I found Green and Terry--on it's way.
Oh. I'd already thought o'that.
That's why there's dualities.

Dave - I shoulda asked about your other hunt - I have some single friends...and they aren't all as old as me!
WHERE THE HELL ARE THE BULLIETN BOARDS?
I think because the double words were used in clue 4 in conjunction with the baseball terms, it may have been a secret clue implying that one should look around 2nd base. "Be fair" may have meant stay in fair territory for both fields where it indeed was.
Ian - Nothing here yet.
WHERE ARE THE BULLETIN BOARDS??????????????????????????????
Allison--I thought of that, but really, if that were the clue writer's intent--wouldn't he/she have claimed credit for that in the exaplanation? I think that is a case where we WANT to find a hidden message--just cause we crave it.
Ian, answer me. Did you find them? WHERE ARE THEY?
Well Dave, I do have a singles club I run for the 25-35 age group (roughly). I have ALWAYS believed there is more in the clues than just the simple one line explanations given.
There aren't any.
I always told you I didn't noodle that much, noodle too much into the clues.
I half suspect the explanations are written by someone other than the cluewriter. The cluewriter probably tells that person what the clues really mean, but then they edit it and "dumb it down" for the masses. Maybe that's part of why the job of cluewriter seems to be an unpopular one at the paper.
There aren't any bulletin boards.
They didn't try to hurt us... They did what they did to help us, because they care...
I already registered and posted...sorry I'm fro'in a lot
Ian... WHERE!!!
re-read the mail green
Anyway, I'm going to go rest for a while and then I have an errand to run. Also need to figure out where to hide the treasure for the Mock Hunt. Any requests? hehe.
I may be back later.
Not in earmuffs!
I've registerd. No spaces allowed.
Hi everyone, I finally made it home....
Whew! Blood pressure decreasing rapidly.
The Cooler Crew will live on!!!
I LIKE that you can only have one e-mail address! Will keep jerks out!
What is this? I just moved here from Nevada. I thought the winter carnival started yesterday? Why is the hunt over already?
Green- I know what you guys are up to -will you e-mail us?
Me2 Me2!
Roger, Marly!
Does the hunt start early?
Like before the winter carnival?
Hello??
Hi Pooped. Check out the top of this page. The hunt is over until next year.
You've mail, you two!
yep
Yeah. I noticed that. When did the hunt officially start?
so everything's better now?
Yep, always starts the Sunday before the carnival starts. It ended after only 6 of 12 clues. Pretty short this year
