2002 Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt

Submitted by Casey Trauer on

Yes, the medallion has been found, but there's still lots to talk about. Feel the need for more than virtual discussion? Then join the Re-Hash Bash, Sunday, Jan. 27, at noon at Merriam Park in St. Paul.

anything special to bring or wear if I come on Saturday?

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:10 PM Permalink
green

Nope, Lisa's! Warm clothes, maybe a shovel to carry - we're Hunters you know - and your big, happy smile!

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:17 PM Permalink
green

We just walk in the parade, support MomPress, support The Hunt. Maybe hand out - HAND OUT, NOT throw... - little advertising gizmos for PP... Smile, wave, be happy.

That kind'a stuff.

Some folks might find it lame, but the parade is really one of my highpoints. I'm proud to be a Cooler Head. I think that us being in the parade brings more folks here, helps lurkers not be so afraid to post, stuff like that.

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:19 PM Permalink
green

Lisa's, if you're kind'a scared or frightened, or shy... How about if you walk with me? I'll, or me and The Brown, will keep you company - I don't know if he's gonna want to be in the parade.

But, I'll walk with you. Then you'll know someone and can be in the parade! :D

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:27 PM Permalink
green

I'm pretty sure Dal's gonna bee there, too. So that's two o'us you'll know! :D We three can walk together.

I just remembered this: Where was twincities.com or pioneerplanet.com on Sunday? Don't they ALWAYS give away stuff?.

BTW, I still have my beanie with propeller from 1998 !

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:40 PM Permalink
green

Nope, Ian. Only time I ever remember them coming was in 1998, at Chair-O-Key, when Lem and John J came to scope us out...

Don't think they've ever been to anything else. Well, Pre-Dig Gig last year with the t-shirts, but that was it. Or was that even a PP person? Maybee it wasn't.

Ter will know.

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:49 PM Permalink
King Boreas aka Ian

One year there were little magnet letters and key rings.

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:50 PM Permalink
green

That was at the parade last year... The magnetic letters. Key rings was 1998, Chair-o-Key, and I think the first year we were in the parade... What year was that? I don't think we've been in the parade every year... Or have we?

Ittiz hell getting old! :D

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 5:57 PM Permalink
Terry

Good Evening! I didn't expect 1000 posts to slog through when I got home tonight.

Hey, for next year's hunt we can have special Cooler Crew promotional nights. Things like:

Terry Valentine earmuff night

NO NO WAY WAY!!!!

We have not been in the parade every year...but I still have the blue fleece Pioneer Press head band thighy around here from one year. 1998 we were not in the parade. I remember Cheryl and Reid going down to the parade in general and carried snowflakes - but didn't go with the Pioneer Press.

I will withhold my judgement on the new site until it's really up and operating...but if it's as hard as it seems to view posts, I probably will give up the slogging. I could hardly keep up this year and with that set-up, it'll be worse. That's too bad as it does make it nicer to get to know folks in a forum that continues as this one does.

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 6:21 PM Permalink
King Boreas aka Ian

It seems like it takes a lot longer to load, too.

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 6:26 PM Permalink
green

Well be harder, Ter, but if you put on "date" for tracking and nobuddy changes the subject, then it keeps going pretty much like here...

But it does take more time as you've got to click more and go more places...

It will be harder, but I'm thinking it will be doable...

I don't know... I don't think I'm going to like it as much as here - tho there is one aspect I'm going to love!!! The trash will be kept down! :D - but I think we'll be able to deal with it...

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 6:31 PM Permalink
green

Much, much longer, Ian... But that could be (maybee?) because ittiz a beta site? You think?

Mon, 01/28/2002 - 6:31 PM Permalink
Terry

It's because of all the dang clicking!

And yes...it sets cookies so when you go back you don't have to login, but both Inks and I have a login set from this one computer...and I should be able to login from another computer anytime I want.

If you do thread, then click on the folder you want, all the messages are there. When you click on one, then the remainder are after that. You can only 'read' one at a time tho.

Gotta get some photos linked in there. Did you see my King?
