The first time I ran across the hunt was while at College in '98. Can't believe I grew up in the Twin Cities and never heard of the hunt till then! That's what you get growin' up on the other side of river I guess. I saw the "rosebud" clue and was convinced the medallion was in Como (due to it's proximity to Roseville?!)
Luckily I found my way in here that year right around the time the "Chair-o-key" clue came out. My head spun. "So THAT'S how the clues work" I thought. Then I met some-o-you in person and I knew then that I'd be doing this the rest of my life. Â . . . Even if I had to participate from Allentown . . .
I moved to Allentown last September to work as an "apprentice" with a well respected company out here. Before that actually I spent a year in Northern California at a theater school. So I haven't been able to get out digging for the past two hunts! It pains me. Last year was especially bad since my only free time was on weekends and the dang medallion was found before the big weekend. I had nothing to contribute. Sucked. This year has been great thought!
12. The last of our clues Will put leaves on your shoes And should lead you straight To the goods Between Como and Horton A place fit for courtin Is a dense stand of tumbled down woods From the old fire place Look north and pace Over hillocks that give cyclists pleasure The last row of humps Face some fallen down stumps 40 paces from the last hill to the treasure Fallen trees mark the spot Look low now you're hot Don't loose your Minnesota nice If you're in the fine fettle You'll discover the medal Next to the timber Under leaves encased in ice
Well, there it is. Pretty well spelled out. The hordes are gonna be scary!
Yeah Green, the theater companies there are great. But it helps to get around a bit to make my resume look better. Also, the school in Cali and this theater here are both into the more non-traditional staging that I'm interested in. So I had to come check it out.
Maureen!!! The night after "take it down a notch" and asking me "how deep" I wanted to "fish" - I figured out Como and blew you OFF as TOTALLY NUTZ!!!!
QM- I hear there's lots of great theater in L.A., I have a few friends there right now. Plus, if you want to get into movies it's definetly the place to be!
Dunno Stallion, I was out there, lots of people and all, but it was hard to tell what had been dug up and what hadn't, probably alot of people looked over the same spots.. I was thinking for the area though it shoulda been found sometime earlier today.
The line at the paper went around the building, past the alley. Many people pushing and shoving, which was kinda sad, really. But what a scene! Looked like reporters calling in a story in the pre computer days, all shouting into a cell phone!
Hello Kris and Marine Wife.
Queen Malley: Well if I ever get around to havin a family, I'll be making the hunt a family tradition :)
Evil, you're likley to be noshed on by the single women here, or raped... Best stay hidden...
Unless you want to make yourself known to me... I PROMISE to be gentle...
ROFLOLPMP!!!!!

End of sob story. (teary eyed 'Stallion)
It'll be good times, KCO!
still need to figure out if this clue will be worth acting on or not....
Dave's on his way home, then he'll post it.
I understand it's really long.
Oh... Stal... I love you. ((((Stal))))
Didn't know - or furgot - you've been here since Chair-0-Key...
GET BOCK HERE!!!
Hehe, the first 5 lines of it are to just chide the bad, destructive hunters :) Only a guess :)
It's a hard addiction to understand, Evil; it helps that my kids got hooked (bad mother, bad mother!)
You're in the right place, Evil. And you can bring the whole fam damnly!!! All welcome!
(Damnit! Another morsel missed!)
Green, you kill me. I love it!

You do lighting and staging, don't you, Stal?
Aren't the companies here "good enuff"???
I remember you MedallionStallion. You're the guy that smokes cigars.
We hooked up for a little pitty party at McGovern's one night.
I'll be Bock with a vengance next year baby!!!
12.
The last of our clues
Will put leaves on your shoes
And should lead you straight
To the goods
Between Como and Horton
A place fit for courtin
Is a dense stand of tumbled down woods
From the old fire place
Look north and pace
Over hillocks that give cyclists pleasure
The last row of humps
Face some fallen down stumps
40 paces from the last hill to the treasure
Fallen trees mark the spot
Look low now you're hot
Don't loose your Minnesota nice
If you're in the fine fettle
You'll discover the medal
Next to the timber
Under leaves encased in ice
Well.
Nuttin' like shootin' your wad all at the end, for crying in a bucket!
Oh, Stal!!! DON'T say like that!!! I don't wanna wait that long!!! :D
What a year. What a figgin' effin' mother of a year.
What'a... Oh, hell.
I'm tell YOU! THIS year will go down in the anuls o'history...
Well, there it is. Pretty well spelled out. The hordes are gonna be scary!

Thanks, Jaesin
A Live Cam is a great idea, Maureen!
Well, unless it's hid really well, I'm done this year :) Next year however, will be mine :)
Stal: my 18 yr old daughter is in Theater; she is looking for going out to LA this fall.
Maureen!!! The night after "take it down a notch" and asking me "how deep" I wanted to "fish" - I figured out Como and blew you OFF as TOTALLY NUTZ!!!!
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT noodlin', girlfriend, GREAT NOODLIN'!!!!
That clue pretty much puts it where I thought everybody was searching last night and today! Why hasn't it been found yet? Doesn't make sense.
is this right by the dog pound/human society? are they referring to the old stone fireplace in the woods?
No, it's North of Mcmurray field. In between Como & Horton.
Zone 3 of the book (Page 18).
Well, one thing, it can't be at como next year right? I don't believer they've ever hidden the medallion in the same park two years in a row
Those woods are really dense there, Stal.

I spent about 2 hours in that exact same area this AM. I'm not going back tonight. If I couldn't see it in the daylight, I'd never see it in the dark.
This is the first year though I was in the right area before the medallion was located :)
Thanks for the clue guys!
so it is not in anything--just ice?
Yep, that's sort of what we were thinking.
Couldn't get anything else form the clues.
Yes, thank you for the clues!
THX, thanks for taking good care of this site! :)
Good night, good luck to all . . . See ya on Sunday!
I've never been to that exact spot in como before, but I believe I put an "X" exactly on the spot on my map here about this time last night.
Thanks again, DD!
Goodnight all.
Now to sleep, and wait for Scribe to come home and tell me a Coolerhead found it.
:-)
Thanks to everyone that made this such a fun hunt.
I'm still batting 1000 - against! LOL!!!
Well, fiends, I've gots to toddle...
GO 'HEADS, GO!!! MAY A COOLER CREW MEMBER GET IT!!! COOLER HEADS *WILL* PREVAIL!!!
Love you all... SCD, MCL... And Cooler Runnings! :D
goodnight all, and good luck!

Wheeee!
Yeah, time for some sleep. I'll say a prayer for the coolerheads out there before I hit the sack. One of us gotta get it!
I am not ashamed to admit, however, I will be happy to get back into a more normal sleep pattern.
