I'm guessing Cherokee is too close. It's a park (one of MANY) where the dome can be seen far in the distance from somewhere in the park, but the medallion is in another part of the park where the capitol is not visible.
I was wondering the same thing about Highland, Terry. It seems logical that they would put it somewhere that you would almost immediately assume you could NOT see the Capitol from. I was thinking that it might be possible from the bridge area.
I know that clue #1 has really never meant more than the general boundaries of the hunt. But seeing as there is no snow, it is a shorter clue #1 then usual and it is written in a different style...does anyone think maybe there is more to it this year to really throw us off?
The rules do say Ramsey County. Nothing has said St. Paul, so it could be in the Maplewood part of Battle Creek if one can truly see the capitol from there.
Valley Rec Center has a great view of the Capitol, being right behind it, but I was just kidding about that as a possibility. There's really no place to hide it there.
I remember watching fireworks from Harriet Island and looking towards downtown, but I can't recall seeing the Capitol from there. Maybe I'm wrong though. This clue may require some scouting.
everyone that was at the pp is up at cherokee right now.
Mom - Wouldn't it be something if it was actually at Mounds?
MLK is a good possibility too...the view from there is clear as clear can be.
not too many-mabe 20

It's still pretty early. There will be more people every night...
Glad to see you found your way here, Annie.
well, off to bed, still gotta get up for work in the morning! MCL & SCD'S!
Bet you can see it from parts of Como (sorry about that). Also Mounds, Swede, Dayton's Bluff, many small parks. Lots.
Lots is a good word. It's a good clue. Many possibilities.
Night LL
Goodnight LL! SCDs and MCL!
Good to put some names with faces at the PP tonight
Can the Capitol be seen from any part of Highland?
Public land that isn't the Capital Grounds or parks and isn't roads would be every sidewalk and boulevard in the city.
Just got back from mounds it all fits for now. im glad i went down to pp i'v never done that befor it's nice to put faces to the names.
Hello!
Sorry for being late to the pp! (Ares you almost hit me)
Anybody that asked for bumper stickers! I will be there tomorrow and they be free for you few folks!sorry again!
Well we can see now why they ruled out the capital grounds in the rules!
I was thinking that too...that it could be a view from somewhere - but certainly not everywhere out there.
East side, were you in the camoflauge?
Terry, I think it's likely you could see it from somewhere at Highland, but if not, almost certainly from 'nearby'.

yah who were you
So many possibilities! Good for a second clue. Keep folks all over the place.
I could see the dome in shoreview today at snail lake!
I was next to you in line, when Scribe came up and introduced herself
I would say its a good clue!
Keeps over 50 parks still in the running!
Regman - I never guess Highland. Odd that I should even think of it.
cool nice to meet you
Valley Rec Center! hehe
You might be vindicated this year, Allison!
You too
it could be cherokee or mounds. i think its mounds some where near the lower parking lot.

matthewdk you cant see pp from bc
Battle Creek is in both Maplewood and St. Paul.
It's a regional park.
We have not gotten a city or county clue yet. It could be in Duluth...except for the dome clue.
