The cooler crew is an online community that is made up of folks with a commonality that involves digging in parks in the dead of the winter and because we have this obsession in common, we find other parts of us that have commonality too. - TerryV
Who goes to a picnic in January?
The Re-Hash Bash is always open to all Diggers, Hunters, Clue-Writers and Lurkers. Discuss the Medallion Hunt, and have a good time with those of like obsession. It's a great time! The Re-Hash Bash is a family affair. Spouses and kids (even toddlers) are more than welcome! Come early, stay late and eat, then eat some more. It's a potluck deal. It really is a fun time. It helps bring closure to the hunt for the year.
- Bring a dish to share: dessert, salad, hot dish, whatever you like.
- Bring your own drinks, plates, cups and utensils.
- There is usually a fire to "keep yourself warm". logs are needed !
- Check the weather forecast on the link below, but come prepared for "changing" weather.
- You may wish to bring a lawn chair.
Is it the 6th annual? Pre-dig gig too? Oy, am I misinformed !
Joe- everybody's gotta be #1 sometime :)
It's the 5th annual pre-dig gig and the 6th annual rehash bash. (We didn't have a pre-dig gig in 1998. That idea sprang from the remains of the rehash bash after the Chair-o-key hunt.)
I haven't a clue yet what we'll be bringing to the picnic, but I'm sure looking forward to the traditional Sloppy Joe Medallions, Ian!
Thanks for the buttons, ares.
I'll be making a double batch, because the geocachers like 'em too !
It's the 5th annual pre-dig gig and the 6th annual rehash bash.
Thanks Ter, I'm not misinformed then! :)
I don't know what we'll bring yet either (I don't want to think about it being over yet).
For Ian it's a no-brainer...those sloppy joe medallions are a tradition.
True, they are, and sooo good!
I asked ares about this, so that it's here when things get active. It seems like a lot of people always disappear before this is brought up.
Good thinkin/planning ahead!
I'm hungry now. Can we have the Rehash Bash before the Pre-Dig Gig?
What about a re-pre-dig gig? Or a pre-re-hash bash?
Nice Joe kids. Thanks for the shot. Whew! That was a strong one!
Well I guess you could say we're having a re-pre-dig-gig at my place on Sunday for anyone who wants to hang out in the hot tub. Although I'll need to know who, if anyone, is coming so I can give them directions.
how many people fit in that hot tub of yours?
Don't you have it now? are you using it?
I suppose your sitting in it right this second!
;P
Thanks for the buttons, ares.
I didn't get a button :(
yes you did. just not here.
I will bring 'RE-HASHbrowns'
I've had the hot tub since last Saturday (though it took two days to warm up). I have it all this weekend up through Monday at 4:30. It fits 8 people though so far we've only had 6 people even try to get in at once, but they all seemed to fit in fine.
Man Ares! Thats where we shoulda been last night instead!
Doin it like the rabbit does it ;)
oh, ah, going over clues while sitting in the hottub.
well, i do hear rabbits are multi-talented :)
:: he says as he wonders why his mouth tastes like blood and his severed finger is sitting on his desk ::
I don't know how many ways we can noodle "It's in St. Paul", but it would be much more enjoyable in a hot tub.
I'd be happy to see "St. Paul" in the clue. It narrows your search down quite a bit. I not all that familiar with the parks of Ramsey County.
Great site mmh!
I agree MedHunter! I want St Paul
next yr can be Ramsey County-
after I get my GPS and learn more about that area.
after I get my GPS and learn more about that area.
If I halfway know you, and I think I do, when you get a GPS, you'll learn a whole lot moreabout that area.
Yes I to am hoping for the St. Paul clue this year!
Allthough I have been taking pics of RAMSEY county parks the last few days! Wow if it ever leaves St. Paul again we are in for some fun!
There will be a couple very easy caches at the Re-Hash Bash. One is a CD/Cassette exchange and the other is a Board Game exchange. Feel free to do either. Bring a CD or game to trade.
cool Ian!
One is a CD/Cassette exchange
Are burned CD's OK. Or even mp3 CD's? I can fit 10 albums on one mp3 CD. Requests?
got any Blues ?
I can burn whatever you want my friend. Requests?
I hope everyone can make it.
Come one, come all, even you lurkers. We'd love to meet as many of you in person as possible.
I've seen a hundred usernames in here that I've yet to meet at the paper or on the hunt.
Exactly where do you meet at Como? Where it was found? Or a pavillion? I suppose people could be lost in como looking for the group!
I think someone mentioned the pavilion in the west picnic grounds.
You can't miss us. We're the nutty people having a picnic in February.
If we're in the pavillion, there is electricity available.
Perhaps we should do the eating up in the pavillion area and then those that want to warm up and enjoy some more time together can go down to the fire ring afterwards.
sounds good to me terry! A fire will sure feel nice! I am itching to go camping now that the hunt is over!
Yup! The hunt is over...now where's Spring?!?!?
The electricity is not on at the pavilion.
I guess we will just have to eat smore's!
Ian! Thats a great picture of THX! It was great spotting you in the woods! Thanks for the gifts!
I strike to move the Rehash to Harriet... its where they moved the puck from in the first place.
I'm with ya Ninja......we dug the sh*t outta that park!
SCRIBE, I'm gettin' walkee-talkies next year so I can find you guy's!
LL, we were trying to find you! Those woods were so crazy I couldn't have even told you where we ended up! We need GPS!
I think I had a better chance at finding the medallion than I did finding you guy's! at least the medallion stayed in one place! we were probably walking in circles and kept ending up missing each other!
We all had a better chance of finding a dead body in there! 2003, The Blair Witch Hunt!
I had such a great time this year getting to know new people and renew old friendships. I am really going to miss all of you at the Rehash (post pictures so I can see them while I am gone). I think John is going to stop in so take good care of him. :)
LL, the walkie talkies are a great idea!
budly-
A nice request of mine would be a PHOTO CD of all the nice pix you have taken this year!!
I will pay you whateva!!
Randy
Me too!
I'd reimburse you for your efforts.
