Thanks all.
so sorry to hear about Lucy 3m:(
So sorry to hear 3M. It is good she didn't linger suffering.
So sorry to hear, Mike. Sympathies to you and yours.

So sorry that you lost her 3M. Glad you got to enjoy her for such a good, long time while she was here, and that she didn't have to suffer for a long time. She has crossed the rainbow bridge....
ESD, Baker and Associates in Wayzata are hiring graphic designers. I'm not sure where the listings are posted (maybe AIGA?); I talked to someone who works there and he said they are recruiting for a few different positions.
So sad to hear, 3M. Glad she didn't suffer long, though. I'm sure she's now in kitty heaven, where there's always a mouse to chase and a fresh saucer of milk.
sorry MMM :(
Just this side of Heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.....
When an animal dies, one who has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends where they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content except for one thing: each misses someone who was very special to them, someone they had to leave behind.
They all run and play together, but a day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The eyes are bright and intent; the eager little body quivers all over! Suddenly that lucky one breaks away from the group and flies over the green grass, little legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in a joyous reunion, never be parted again. Happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress that beloved head and once more you look into the trusting eyes of your pet-so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

aww Mikey I'm sorry :( I have 3 cats, and I'm very attatched to them. I get attatched to every pet that I've had. But to know that she didn't suffer is definately a good thing. *hugz* she's in a better place :) she's got all the milk she can drink, tuna fish she can eat, and all the hands in the world to scratch her belly :)
Damn Mike.... Sorry to hear :(
Hey folks, Lance is updating memberships so if you gave and haven't seen your status change, make sure you let him know.
3m- dude! I feel for you. The funny thing about our critters is that they're so loyal to us they never tell us when they're gonna go. They become an integral part of our lives. My advice to you is to go and get a really good album and let the music help you heal.
I'm sorry you have to go through this.

Hey anyone know how I can find out what the pop mail address is so I can set Outlook Express as my email?
can use gmail....
I can send you an invite.....everybody is doing it...
lol sounds like a say no to drugs commercial.. "come on.. .everyone's doing it!!" lol damn peer pressure..
ok.. sure I'll give it a try :) Otherwise I was just going to get my comcast email set up w/it.
evensonwbl@comcast.net
invite sent
ask OTiS
I like using the gmail system better then outlook...
I used to be a big outlook user ......but I like that I can google search my own emails...
On the E-mail Server Names screen make sure you select POP3 from the drop-down list. Type in mail.comcast.net as your Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: and smtp.comcast.net as your Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.

Thanks OTiS for the info :) and kitch for the g-mail invite :D U guys rock! It's soooooo nice to have HSI.. lol I had dial up for so long.. I swear I'll NEVER go back unless I absolutely have to.
I'd sell plasma if I get that broke....no way am I going back to dial up...
well I had a heck of a time trying to set up my HSI because I kept getting these weird errors, talked to one dude at Comcast, who was nice and all but didn't know what he was doing.. or so it seemed, transferred me to the help desk, and I was on hold for like an hour and a half, so I hung up and called back, got another dude who fixed the issues in like 10 minutes :)
so I was kinda worried that I wasn't gonna get it working. lol
I use Outlook Express to "suck down" my gmail emails. It keeps all the outgoing and incoming (yes, both sent and received) stored online so I can always go there and search, but don't need to use the browser unless necessary.

I used OE a looong time ago, but someone set it up for me so I had no idea how to set up the pop mail and stuff. It's a lot easier than going to the website, and logging in all the time.
I use the gmail notifier...tells me when you have new mail...
or on firefox...I just keep a tab open...
Thanks for all the support you guys! : )
I really liked the thing about the Rainbow Bridge! I sent that to my wife.
I don't use Outlook, but I read lately they're yanking the ability to download from sites such as Hotmail & Gmail.

I wanna know how to do that.

At one time, Hotmail had the info on the site, how to set up Outlook Express.About a year ago, when I got my new computer, I couldn't find the info, so I just set it up the way my old one was, and it worked. You don't view the ads, if you don't visit the site, HEH.

Very sorry to hear about your Lucy MMM.
I lost my 2 cats last year. Although they could never be replaced, I went out and got a kitten. It really took the edge off grieving watching her antics.Â
swoopin' in and stealin' this joe :)
Well, gmail is free and Yahoo charges less than Hotmail if you want to access your mail via a pop 3 client.
Gmail is still worth it if you don't use Outlook.
Post your e-mail addy here, and I or someone else will send you an invite.
Sorry to hear about your kitty, 3M. My dog is getting up there and I don't know what I'm gonna do when she goes. When the sadness passes, I hope you're comforted by the memories. :)
Thanks for the nice thoughts everyone!
ROCKS - i have a hundred or more invites if anyone wants them - email me @ mailto:randahl@gmail.com

I just got some bad news today... well the last few days we've had some poor air quality around here and what not... well my mom is a Chronic Asthmatic, so that sort of stuff really bothers her. So she calls me at like 3 in the morning crying and upset because she can't breathe. So I rush down there and rush her down to Regions. I wound up having to call in sick today because Mark and I sat in the ER with her all morning. Didn't get back until about an hour ago.Â
She was so upset and scared that it wasn't helping her breathing any, or her blood pressure, or her heart even. So they were monitoring all of that stuff as well. Finally I got her calmed down enough so they could start giving her breathing treatments and stairoids to get her breathing into check. The doctor pulled me outside of the ER room and told me that she has Emphozima. She's only 46 years old!! She smoked but not THAT heavy!! They said if she doesn't quit now she'll have to be on oxygen for the rest of her life, and possibly have a trechyatomy done.
All of this before she's even 50 yrs old!!!!! Both of my grandparents were chronic asthematic, had emphozima, and died at young ages. They were both 66. My mom is following down the same path, and I'm afriad she's going to die a lot sooner than 66. So needless to say.. it has NOT been a good day.. sorry guys.. didn't mean to throw all of this stuff atcha... just needed to get stuff off of my mind. Thanks.
Be strong MM and be there for her. This will obviously take a huge toll on her as well. I feel for you guys.
It's just scary because I went thru this with both of my grandparents... and I could never imagine what my mom went thru, but now, here I am, in the exact same position she was once in.. and it scares the crap out of me! It's so hard to be strong... when all I want to do is lock myself up in my room and just have a good cry... :(
