Recent Clues:

Clue #1 Congrats to the finder, to all a reminder
To hunt hard from first to last clues
Medallion I is history. Now a new mystery
Begins -- strap on your hunting shoes

To some its demented, for all unprecedented
But hunters’ thirst must be quenched
Tell sister and brother we’ve hidden another
In a park where a body can be benched

Our 2nd prize? Don’t laugh -- 10-thou cut in half
So get out there even if it’s snowy
And as a special bonus -- some might say an onus --
A meal with our own Clueless Joey

Good hunting to you, let this be the first clue
Think of a woodsy retreat
It won’t be so hard if you channel the bard
You’ll get warm and smell pretty sweet
Clue #2 If you\'re thinking big you\'re sure to dig
Near flora with growing pain
Winter or summer is never a bummer
A menagerie of fun wild or tame
Clue #3 Success on the third clue will never do
We had to stash a second
Round you go if you seek to know
Where swatters of orbs are beckoned
Clue #4: A walk in the park can be a lark
If cell phones are left at home
Heed the siren of your desirin\'
And do not revolt against this poem
Clue #5 Over hill and dale hit the trail
With a handy locating device
Fulfill your wishes like loaves and fishes
And put your victory on ice
Clue #6 A famous singer and a diamond dinger
Might put you oh so close to the spot
With the whites of your eyes you should look for the prize
Within this convenient plot
Clue #7 Don\'t turn up your noses at the city of roses
The home of the park that you seek
It\'s just north of town so come on down
Our hunt is not for the meek
Clue #8 Don\'t go mental just head for Central
Lexington Avenue will show you the way
Your spirits won\'t sag when you see the big flag
Into the trees you want to stray

That giant shopping cart was freezing. I couldnt feel my fingers or toes for an hour after i got off of that thing. Lots of fun though, wouldnt trade it for anything.

Okay I know no one else is with me on Linwood but

the siren could be talking about the weather siren on top of Monroe school which is visible from Linwood. Maybe I'm trying to make it fit so I don't have to travel far to hunt this year.

I just hope we get something good in tonight's clue.

A torpedo or trolley would be good.

A definate street name would be wonderful.

Brassmonkey!

(I will never refer to you as "BM" ever again!)

I'm staying home tonight as well- I didn't fit into the appropriate format last night....

I think you RULE!

Many years I've read your thoughts, felt your passion for the hunt.

So be happy my friend, be safe, and above all-

HAVE BRILLIANT INTUITION!

I'm with you Zeph...living in the burbs is hard when your trying to hunt in St. Paul. I haven't tracked my exact miles but I'm sure I've put on quite a few.

There is a definate advantage to living in the center of the city. Como, Newell, Marydale are all close by.

Everything within the city limits is less than 10 miles I'm guessing.

OK has anyone noticed that the 1st and 3rd clues are redundant?

Tell sister and brother weÂ’ve hidden another

Success on the third clue will never do

We had to stash a second

Did the CW really need to tell us in two different clues that this is the second puck to be hidden? something there (probably not) like I said I'm over cooking the noodles tonigth the reason for the first maybe....Tell sister = Warner (Warn Her)

I am in the boonies as well, which may be a good thing... I might've ended up forcing myself into labor with some hard digging! :worried:

see if you had planned it better you could have been like 38 weeks preg's and put yourself into labor easily...and what better treasure than a baby

I was out hunting in 1965 when I was very pregnant. Was in Como pacing off to the medallion on January 30. That baby turns 42 on February 13. :worried:

But it was fun. I felt so cocoonish all bundled up in hubbies outdoor gear because mine didn't fit any longer. :goofy:

What event is going on at the PP tonight, anybody know?
Sat, 01/27/2007 - 7:21 PM Permalink
l and a mommy

"A menagerie was mostly connected with an aristocratic or royal court and it was thus sited within a garden or park of a palace"

An Earl (St.) is part of the aristocrasy correct?

don't know whats going on at the PP tonight but earlier around 7 ish the exit lane was at a stand still with cars lines up almost back to St. Clair ave on 35E North so something must have been going on earlier tonight.

It's funny, Coco and I have talked about Hunter as a baby name, for when we have kids. We have a different boy name that we'll like use first, so Hunter may be a ways off for us.

I envision the next generation of medallion crazed people all being named Hunter. :ooh:

Still toing and froing here. Not getting much accomplished though.

To me, these clues say Como. This last clue says to heed the siren of your desirin'. Some think that it means a civil defense siren, but do we really desire a civil defense siren? Besides, if we heeded it we'd be going down to our basements, not out looking in a park. The sirens that were desired were the sirens from mythology. We're supposed to heed them, obey them. The sirens call us in, and if Como is the park that is calling us in, then we need to go with our thinking. We shouldn't revolt against the idea of it being in Como.

I like that thinking Kids.

I think that frog siren is calling us!

I see folks starting to gather for the clue. Only about an hour to go.

I debated about getting layered up again early in case the clue is a good one...but decided to wait it out. If it's just another Como clue with nothing more definitive, I'll get a decent night's sleep and head out in the daylight.

that pretty much sums it up Ter! Toooo cold to chance a bad clue, might as well be warm and well rested!
Sat, 01/27/2007 - 8:27 PM Permalink

Warm and rested sounds good.

But then again, if the clue gives us a more concise idea of where we should be digging, I'll rethink warm and rested.
