No problem, Myself.
hahaha... that was lame.... oh well... atleast we're closer to #600 now.
Is there a dying park? one that the city wants to close?
COMO
Oh wait, that's just the park some want to close to having the medallion hidden there.
HAYS, JOHN - St. Paul's first murder victim. John Hays was born about 1802 in Waterford, Ireland, who was serving as a Sergeant in Company E, 5th Regiment at Fort Snelling in 1830. He was reputedly somewhat of a martinet in discipline, precise and exact in his dress, bearing, and actions, yet further described as an honest, courteous, and clever gentleman. He never married, and at the time of his discharge in 1839, he had saved a considerable sum of money.
Just prior to his discharge, he and a close friend and comrade-at-arms, Edward Phelan, staked the first neighboring claims in what is now downtown St. Paul. Phelan, who left the service earlier, looked over both claims until Hays was available, and erected a cabin (with Hays' money) which they would both occupy. Within 5 months of Hays' discharge, it was obvious that the two old friends were truly an "odd couple", disagreeing, often loudly and violently, on virtually everything.
About the middle of September, 1839, Hays mysteriously disappeared. He was missed for several days, and Phelan gave evasive answers to questions by neighbors. When word of the disappearence reached Fort Snelling, where Hays was very popular, Major Taliaferro, the Indian Agent, inquired of his contacts among the Native American community if they had seen Hays. On September 27th, Wabsheedah called at the Fort to report that his sons had found the body of Hays in the river at Carver's Cave. Phelan was arrested for the murder, tried, and served six months in the territorial prison at Prairie du Chien, when a dying Indian confessed to the crime, and Phelan was released.
I've been blowing this off...but now...after I reread it agian...he washed up to Carver's cave...hmmm...maybe the indian threw him off the bluff?
I'm gonna cave in and check out an obvious park today that was mentioned way back in clue 1. I didn't want to but it's worth a try. Maybe some others are there. I felt that she was trying to send us on the wrong track but it might have been on target all the time.
but im drunk,Â
hahaha at 8:15 am?!
hey its noon somewhere.
oh great ...i just grossed myself out...
A GENETICIST SOX = anagram of "ceasing to exist"
I would, but I'm at work... Besides, where I want to look would take too long, I can't find a specific area that looks best. Maybe after another clue.
going out in a little bit....I'll be around...
Yeah, I'll be out there too.
look at that beautiful collie!
Gettin close to clue time :)
hey hey I was 1st in line :)
Yeah, it's been trouble for me the past few days
if it's where I think it is, there will need to be a little more narrowing down before anybody finds it. Even if we are all in that park. I was at a much easier park last night but it wouldn't last long as it's heavily used and someone could actually stumble across it. Hopefully this clue will separate the two more.
yeah, I think PF has been experiencing technical difficulties
god this sounds just like the line for clue 12. sheesh.
I should have somebody wait at the park and I can phone in the clue.
what park are we waiting at though?
hi gang!!!
feels like old time waiting in line...I've been out since noon...now I have to work 4pm to 8pm...then I'll go out again........
so here's the deal...
I been driving all around
I got off the mound.
I then got out my racket
and drove to sackett.
I really felt like a turd.
and went accross town to orchard.
I needed to take a pee
So I left for cherokee.
ok I'm bored...I went to Front and Minnehaha as well.
Help its not working!!!!! Me2's ghost is haunting the PF!!!
hi Kitch
E-gram is cutting off too. Don't type anything too long because you'll loose it.
::throws a snowball and hits ares in the back of the head:: Comon and move it up there, I don't have all day. And don't forget that today it's a dollar instead of a quarter ;-)
Oh and Kitch - I think you were there bud
What's up Atr-E-miss and KC0?
Whew! Hi guys!
Â

Â
Clue #8
A howler's brew sits full for you
To reap a ghoulish harvest,
But please construe
And share with Me2 - the great hunt babe!
After all that.....
I really am sad about "Sackett"
just so you know..the park got its name from officer sackett. shot in 1970 by an sniper...
but the park is "ceasing to exist" the ball fields are fading away...and the tennis court has knee high weeds.
Kitch...nice rhyming, maybe you should do the next hunt
How are you Artemis
I told you it's Mounds! ;-)
the only thing I can think of is summit beer....
maybe we should just all go to a bar tonight instead.
Hey CM, not much goin on here, just trying to see if my spot fits.
kcogn...i've never been to "witch's brew" have you???
Hangin in there, ESD, I'm in job hunt mode. I sent in a resume today for a job I reallywant, keepin my fingers crossed.
It feels good to do some noodlin!
Â
Kitch... I think you are on to something! :)Â what bar?
Yeah I've been there. I think you mean "Witch's Hat"? The virtual cache at the old water tower overlooking minneapolis.
I can't go until 8pm...so what ever bar works for you all and I'll be there.
Yeah I've been there. I think you mean "Witch's Hat"? The virtual cache at the old water tower overlooking minneapolis
oh..that sucks...
I'm gonna swing by and check out a spot on my way home... it's a strech, but it's worth checkin.
We cant make it down to hunt this weekend, but if its still going maybe Mon or tues. Marley thinks its a rec center, specificaly St Clair rec center but also  possibly Irvine, leaning more towards the former after this last clue. I like IM, but not completely sold.
Obb's Sports Bar & Grill ???-
is the closest near mounds that I would feel safe at.
