Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend are during May...and our oldest kid is coming home and then leaving for the Peace Corps so the first three days of the month aren't too good...but otherwise - anything goes!

I would put in more but with the prize you got from kiltyj's hunt and the prize I'm putting up for mine I'm already in for $1,200(each DJ show goes for $600)So i have to find you'rs just to make some money. I hope that once the dust settles Jake will be allowed in this hunt. I know it is irrelevant what I have to say, but if I ever find one of these mock medallions, I wan't to know it was because I was the best. That being said, this is Marleys hunt, and if Jake is banned, that takes aways my top 2 competitors (no dis-respect intended to anyone else), and I think reduces the integrity of the hunt. Plus it gives Jake the really cool opportunity to find it anyway and screw it all up, which I would do if I were in his shoes. Because anyone that knows anything about Jake knows he does it for the braggin' rights, not the 'prize'.

Marley I know there are a lot more people, but no one as commited as Jake (at least that I know of). I wan't to beat Jake in a mock hunt, because like it or not Jake IS the best at mock hunting right now. He has a ridiculous record in mock hunts, and results don't lie.

As for fearing people, I fear ThoseMeddlingKids. He is dedicated enough to these hunts, but has just enough sanity to have an edge over most of us.

What's the deal with Jake?

I haven't been following the mock hunt.

He had a metal detector out at Battle Creek, and AW's coin was attached to a metalic pocket watch. However he didn't find the medallion with the metal detector, but the fact that he had it out in the morning upset people, I guess.

As per Cooler Crew resolution 4469, we demanded that Jake disarm himself and get rid of his WMDs (whatchamacallit of metal detection). Inspection teams out in the field did not have good reports on his disarmament. A lone CC scientist had hidden a secret in an undisclosed location. Intelligence was leading to its hidden base, but inspection crews were not able to find this base before Jake was able to.

I didn't partake in the hunt so I can't comment other than, sounds like the same old Jake to me.

Dont count out me n Shaggs, either.... we've been hot on the trail, these past couple hunts... infact.. we were in the right park back on the 2nd + 3rd clues, for this last one. Just wait... our time is comin too, we aint no jokes.

If he does NOT than the only way he can get the clues is if SOMEONE HERE gives it to him. If he does have access than I would not be surprised for him to go out and look.

not only that, but guest access has to be denied to this thread as well in that case.

Maybe he didn't realize what it meant to not allow Jake access under any circumstance.

If I didn't do it that way, he could just log in as Mr. News.

I think we can work something out so that anyone not on the list who wants to hunt can email us and be added.

Yeah, he did understand when AW and I mentioned about the thread. He knows that his acts aren't always on the up-and-up and accepts that. Sometimes I think he actually revels in it.

The last time I talked to him, he seemed to be inclined to just voluntarily not participate in mock hunts for a while, though of course that could change in time. But realistically, why should he? Look at all the time and effort he puts into it. He doesn't really need the money. He'll probably just blow it gambling or something anyway. And he doesn't really have anything left to prove. He'd be better off personally retiring "undefeated" for a while and doing other things with his time, and at least for now, I believe that's what he's thinking too.

I think it's a bit like heroin. He gets a rush every so often and needs it that much more next time it comes around. I think that's one reason why geocaching is getting so popular. It's like your always on the 11th clue. You can get within 50'-100' of the cache but still need to find it. I'm gonna try and get Jake into that. That might calm him down a bit.

AH...FYI---my 6 1/2 yr old was actually bumbed when I told her where the coin was hidden at Battle Creek. She actually checked that end of the log too - at that point she had checked one end while I checked the other.

When we first got to BC, we parked at the school -we walked down the steps and mud path and I said "we are looking for a school" she pointed at the school..."we are looking for a trail" she pointed to the trail. "we are looking for water" she pointed at the water "we are looking for a bridge" she says "theres the bridge" all excited! now we are looking in every log we can find...(so technically we should have had it on the 16th in the afternoon)---she was an awesome searcher- That was the very first area we checked in the park together so she probly just wasnt looking as thouroughly-until she got more into it!

I think she is interested in the next hunt- we will see. I was hoping she would find this one cause my oldest got to find the Linwood treasure (I found it then rehid it and lead her to the spot it was at -so she thinks she found it) :)

That sucks ass, man... I went to that school too..... me and my junior high homies used to ditch classes in those woods, when we didnt feel like goin to Target, or whatever...

The thing about banning Jake is that it requires everyone else to ban him as well and follow the procedures needed to keep him out of it. Personally I just don't feel that strong about it and if I have to worry about getting in trouble if something I do leads him to discover something about where to look, then it's probably easier to just not do the hunt.

Think like a ninja, act like a ninja, be swift and creepy.... ninjas do anything they damn well please, to get the info they want, or to free their homies from jail's or what have you.... even if it involves shady tactics.... so thats damn cool.

That is kinda how I feel AW-I don't wanna feel like I would slip up too or Jake would call me and say 'come on, just tell me where your gonna be' --that is why I was making it clear to Jake that if he did go out and scoop up that coin after I spent that much time in the hunt and just cause he wanted to get back at Marley and no one wins the prize than I wanted Jake to know that I would be upset. That his action at 'getting back' at Marley actually hurt me and my chances and I consider that 'getting' me too.

He has told me TODAY, that he is not gonna partake in the hunt. I believe him.

I have had the same thoughts Allison, but oh well. If it were any other hunt, I would say 'screw it' but it is the Marley King hunt. I need to find it mon.
