I'm going to try to scout it out for 15mins or so.....then sneak out tonight like 930ish...(need to not drink at this pizza party at my house tonight).....
hope to hook up with CM at 9ish ...but I will have my both my little ones.....so hunting is hard.....
Â
Â
Remember the Pine Tree, that's where I'm looking. Heck if it's in that park, I could be out searching tonight for a while, could meet up there @ 9 if anyone wants to. Can't tomorrow though.
9am I should be able to do...but I'm worried about "watching both kids" and reading 5 clues at the same time.......I'm sure I can figure it out....
egram me your cell no.....and I'll tell you in the a.m. if I can't do it....
Does the river trail go down through IGH yet? Are they building a pier there in the future?
I guess that river trail has been there for awhile it's just been recently that it hooked up with SSP's 1/2 of the trail. I'll check on that new riverfront park that lady was talking about and let cha know. Thanks
Shoot, it'd be my kinda luck to find it, I don't have a stinkin button! Guess that means I'm keeping the star....
I can try to get there like 10pm...9pm is hard!!!!
I don't know about park times....???....i'm not a goodboy when it comes to park times anymore....
Fly to any gas station around there and pick a button up B4 turning it in. It's really not that big of a deal. Not like the St. Paul or Roseville hunts. You don't need to register or anythingÂ
I can try to get there like 10pm...9pm is hard!!!!
RU talking with KC or me?

I don't have a button either...but I'm sure I could pocket it for an hour......
:) and if I find it at night...heck who'd know....
I can try to get there like 10pm...9pm is hard!!!!
KC
CM---you know its the right park!! DON'T overthink it....
Â
9pm, 10pm, if there's a Medallion Hunt involved, I doubt the local authorities are gonna bother enforcing the hours...
Like I've ever been caught.....i just worry about the parks where I have to park inside of gates!!!!
Â
For some reason that damn bee sting is starting to swell up and hurt a bit. It's been over 3 hours and it pretty much went away 5 minutes after the sting but is now reminding me to watch out a little better next time. As an FYI, the bees were hanging out around the dirt bike trails down the tar path a little ways.
heh, doesn't seem like that problem exists at that park, heck ya park on the roadside....
Hey, is there a speed limit sign near that parking area? Just thought of that with clue 9 and 10...
Yeah, there's a 35mph speed limit sign right where you park on the road. Well maybe 50' down from the actual entrance walkway anyway but still next to park land.

H. CITY OF INVER GROVE HEIGHTS; Consider Authorizing Purchase of Fishing Pier for Lions Park
Well I now feel more like 100% after reading that statement anyway

How come this thread is in the Geocaching folder? Just wondering. I don't usually come in here because I don't geocach. Maybe there are others who don't either and are missing this.
I've always wondered why these local hunts weren't in a different thread also.
Maybe have a folder of 'Medallion Hunts' with separate sub-threads for each mock hunt and local hunt. That way there would be a place to go where you could view the most recent or upcoming hunt listed as the top thread. It would also serve as a dumping ground for old hunts kinda like theÂ
The Ghosts Of Treasure Hunts Past
thread. The oldest hunt could be at the bottom of the thread list.

Yeah until someone goes Joe hunting...
100% right park...just a matter of where....
Â
Pine Tree of course... That or else I'm gonna check and see if they stuck it in your geocache there.
There are a set of 4 pine trees by themselves in a row about 350' from the entrance along the trail. I checked under them and even across from them because it felt like one of 'those' spots that could work.

its not in my geocache...and the jeep is not there either....somebody grabbed it yesterday.....

How come this thread is in the Geocaching folder?
Because I can start new threads in this folder. Talk to J T about setting up a folder of 'Medallion Hunts' and have someone host it.

ok..here's the deal...
I don't know how the TUNNEL part works....
its not the tunnel part under hwy 52...that area is another park per the sign....
so I'm thinkin' either a "tunnel slide" or tunnel of trees on the trail (CM's noodle)
climbing wall fits...
pier is a "dead ringer"
speed limit sign...fits
more....to come ...but I'm thinking the same thing...the tree ...are at the turn is a great area to look....or right near the road....but I'd assume that they don't want it that easy....
Â
so the tree area at the turn is on the same page for me as well.....but where is the ????
....back to this boring family party.......
CM, can you post all the clues in one post? I want to go out to check it out, but haven't been documenting the clues.

Were there still people looking when you were out there Kitch?
I saw about 3 groups that came and went less then 10mins each.....
one guy at a gps ...I told him about geocaching and he then blew me off when I asked him about the hunt....but I'm not stupid ...he was looking......(he left in 5 mins)....
I wasn't there more then 20 mins myself...i just scouted to figure where I wanted to look tonight....
the picnic shelter is less then 2 yrs old...i know it wasn't there when I placed the cache!!!!!
The park isn't even included on their Parks & Rec web site yet. It is added at the bottom of their new printed brochure though.
just got back....no clue where to look ...its the right park...but not a lot of hiding spots.....
at least not like marydale where everywhere you turn is another good spot...
Will do, and I'll give Ian access to it.
Made you host too.
I was out there from 6-8. Saw Kitch's note in his geocache. Also looked at the pine trees just east of the speed limit sign on 52, off the trail and close to the tunnel. They didn't look touched so I figured it was worth a shot.
Other than that, I ran into TMK about 7ish and we hunted around for a while. Most of the clues fit easily, but darned if I know where a 4" star is. Can't search tomorrow, so alls I can hope now is the thing doesn't get found tomorrow (which is unlikely considering the last batch of clues is out then).
now that you guys moved this thread...i can't find it as fast.....
Â
worked with TMK and CM this am...no luck...but I spent most of my time at the playgrounds with the kids.....
but its down somewhere right by the pinetrees....you'd think we wrote the clues or something....heh....still no luck....
I was thinking about goin' out tonight....but then at the IGH parade I remembered the Vulctoberfest...as they are advertising it there.....
the only ??? I have about that is is that CLUB finished?? the window's still have boards on it...I'm really confused...
Is this what reminded you of Vulctoberfest?

Clue #11
Look for a boulder taller than your shoulder
it lays claim to the park's name
Clue #12
If it has been a bore and you are starting to snore
There is a place to explore when you hear a loud roar
Clue #13
Once you are here and parked on the street
The excursion is nearly complete
Do not cheat and use your feet
So you can compete with this feat
Clue #14
Now you think you have it figured out it's time to search about
You will come to a bend to the west end
Huh?? It's at the old Exchange Building/Castle Hotel? I agree with Kitch. As far as I can see, it's not open yet!Â
#15 Final Clue
Stay on track and don't look back
Four of these will move in the breeze
I'm heading back out there now
wife is still outta town till tonight....maybe I can go out an look on Sunday...the hunt does end until monday at 9am...and with no more clues...we got a good chance at this one....
Well I just got back from checking out the far north end of the park (which isn't Lions park after you cross under 52 anyway) all the way to the south end where we've been looking. Found your cache Kitch. PU - Smells like my pits after a day of treasure hunting. Well, maybe that was me. I'm all sunburnt and worn out. I've searched every tree around that area thoroughly. It's gotta be between the bend and the park just off the trail somewhere. I just hope it's found. This would be a double flop for IGH if it isn't. I'm sure Al the clue writer doesn't want that again. I'll be first in line to volunteer for next years hunt. So far this is still pretty good. The only thing that could ruin it would be if it wasn't found or it was found in some non-relevant spot where the clues don't really pertain.
You heading out tomorrow KC? Anybody else? It's there for the taking. Lotsa people giving up. Not the CC I say!
