2008 White Bear Lake Manitou Days Hunt

Submitted by ares on
Clue 1:

We bid you hello and exercise quid pro quo
We give hints and you employ creativity
Start thinking far for we raised the bar
And seek a place of increasing activity

Clue 2:

Bring a ball: it can be big or small
Walkers flounder and flounce
If you want to win, just jump right in!
You're bound to enjoy the bounce.

A placid body of H20 lies calmly below
The plants that burgeon to life.
Feed your hunger and feel a little younger
A party may relive your strife.

Clue 3:

The medal will be found near the underground
An Oriental structure to behold
Shining afar, those two northern stars
Guide you past the old gold

Clue 4:

You'll find that our den, while not "N"
Has quite an earthy array
Homes in a row, spot them as you go
Thinking nonhuman will win you the pay

Where the wind blows, nobody knows
A phrase "there, here" is not preferred
It's simply not true, but it's a solid clue
As a northeast breeze is all but assured

Clue 5:

A king and queen describe the scene
Both serving those on the run
He's since gone but she lives on
Now what's done is done

Clue 6:

What will be our fate in the year 2108
Consult your crystal ball, what do you see?
Do you view flying cars and migration to Mars?
Likely not, 100 years isn't that far away

Tim ~ You're one funny guy!

I enjoyed my time in the park last night. It was nice seeing everyone and a much needed break from reality. I don't know if I'll make it back out there or not. Good Luck to everyone!

I put in 2-1/2 hrs today going all the way around the lake weeds. Pretty thick in there. I like the big underground sewer hole just north of the gazebo thing. Lots of weeds.

I found a softball. not much else.

"While not "N"...It's "M"...just look at the sign.

The lake around Wedgewood? I was there this afternoon and only saw a woman on a scooter poking around.

Old Gold is a dark yellow, which varies from light olive or olive brown to deep or strong yellow. The widely-accepted color "Old Gold" is on the darker rather than the lighter side of this range.

The first recorded use of old gold as a color name in English was in the early 1800s (exact year uncertain). [1]

The only gold I saw out there was on the playground equipment. One of the roof things was gold.

Is the apartments next to the park for old people? Seems like I saw a lot of old people walking around and thinking that might be the "old" gold?

its assisted living, there are gold "M"'s on the park signs

And seek a place of increasing activity

whats this mean?

A party may relive your strife

any ideas on this?

I'm also thinking "raised the bar" and "past the old gold" might be Golds Gym? Isn't there one near the corner of century and Wildwood?
Wed, 06/25/2008 - 5:55 AM Permalink
mrmnmikey

Oh thats right! I saw the M but didn't realize they were gold. Thanks!

Wonder what time the clue came out. I called and got it at 9:50

Is that why those women always find it? They calling early?
Wed, 06/25/2008 - 7:03 AM Permalink

I got it at like 9:43, but someone else called me and I forgot to post it. It came out at like 7 the other day, but that probably won't happen again.

Saw the White Bear Lake reigning champs out there. They went 3 wide through the grass and weeds. I talked to one of them for a bit. Let her know we were trying to stop them this year. She laughed.

She said someone complained last year to the city and wanted them banned from hunting.

could the placid H20 below be the well house?? To me the top of the playground looks more like an oriental structure..

the last couple clues have given the park some of the earlier ones must narrow the search area..

hoping to get out there this evening

10 minutes, 6 questions. i didn't get to ask any.

They'll let me know in 6 to 8 weeks.

Hey, I hate to be a grammar nazi - but:

even if your feeling wedged

Isn't grammatically correct. Mikey, did you type that right, or is it "you're" feeling wedged?

makes a difference.

I don't know. I called 651-653-2510 to get the clue. The spelling is my own. I have no idea how they spelled it. Printed copies are only available at Caldwell Bankers and I don't have them. It's probly my typo.
