I regret to announce, that the elderly dog mentioned in the above post has gone to his final reward. Poor old Giz had many health issues, arthritis being one of them. He was taking a medication for the pain, but finally it just was too much, and he was released from pain.
He lived with us for 12 years and 2 days. He came to us on Christmas Day, and left us on the 27th of Dec. Tigger now rules alone.
BTW, he, Tigger, did NOT learn his lesson on the trip to the vet...he did it again on the way to the boarding kennel. On the trip home, we opened the carrier, and let him see out the window and there was no problem.

I do have a cat in need of a home...a friend of mine got an eviction threat if she did not get rid of the cat that night-so I have him until we find a new home- (My husband will absolutely not let us have another pet! I am currently keeping him under the 'radar')
His name is 'Kitty Kat' or Theodore 'Theo' -but he never comes to those names-go figure
He is 4 yrs old-lots of flab under his belly- :)
short hair- white paws (looks like he walked through the Minnesota snow - (oh yeah, what snow?)-grey tiger coat
His front paws are declawed -hence an indoor cat
He has been 'fixed'
he basically just lays around - he seams to not care about the other pets in the house but the dog doesnt seam to like him.
Please let me know if you or anyone would like to take him home-

I have been searching all week for my digital camera battery charger! Got lost in all the presents! can't find it. But will get a picture of him up here and for you. Hey, he is sitting on me right now and he won't let me type...hahhaha. uuuh, he's sticking his head under my fingers trying to get me to pet him :)
my cat does that too! at night when we go to bed she jumps up and weasles her way in-between us, gordy just hates it! calles her a fat pussy.
i dunno if i should say where the cat is right now. she just told me about it on the phone. unfortunately she doesn't have her camera battery charged :(

Damn... that would sound ghetto as hell if they all traded spots... you'd have Mike, Carol, Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marsha, Jan and Cindy Duke, and then you'd have Bo, Luke, Uncle Jesse, and Daisy Brady. That just aint right.
Made a decision, since we lost Gizmo. We added another cat to the family. She is a beautiful girl...brown tabby, long haired, (we are now up to our a$$e$ in cat hair) and green eyed. Sweet tempered,but isn't going to take any crap.
The evil creature pictured in my avatar, however, is not about to allow her into his territory. He is hissing, spitting and growling like a Bengal tiger was turned loose in his house!
I'm keeping them separated, and letting them get used to the scent of one another, and giving them staring time while crated. That's when the fireworks take place, and there have been a couple of face to face encounters when I was caught off guard. The only blood shed was mine though.
Any idea how long this is going to take before the war is over?

Hi, Lady Lou. I've been where you are a few times, know what you mean about the only blood shed being yours! It varies according to the cats involved, but seems to me the worst of it was over in a week or two. Be sure to give both cats plenty of love and attention--in equal amounts so you don't set up any lifelong sibling rivalries. 'Mom always liked me best!' ;)
Although to be strictly honest I must tell you that my two cats, who have lived together for 10 years, still go at it teeth and claws every once in a while. :)

Wierdest thing- My husband outa the blue said- we can keep the cat! the one I was looking for a home for the past 2 months.
And I feel your HAIR PAIN!!!! I was shoveling the walk out side and I kid you not I saw dog/cat hair in almost every shovel heap! its all over the house! I thought they shed closer to Spring! anyone have an idea why-we brush the animals- I just don't get it :(
