So What'cha Want -- became the ringtone on my phone for my then 12 year old's friend that called incessantly....cool to see a video for it! Said daughter now has a phone for her use, so I don't get to hear it too often, unless Emily misplaces her phone, and Rachel calls ME to see whassup.

KID ROCK LYRICS

"Lowlife (Living The Highlife)"

I got my Cat Scratch Fever eight-track

My best friend's in a gun rack

I'm a lowlife

I owe everybody money

I think racist jokes are funny

I'm a lowlife

I got a dirty mind, a gutter mouth

I'm makin' time, I'm goin' out

With your wife

Cuz I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

I got kids I never seen

And their momma's seventeen

I'm a lowlife

I take strippers out to breakfast

You can add that to my checklist

I'm a lowlife

Ahh the landlord called the rent is due

I spent it all on a Kiss tattoo

I Rock n Roll all night

Cuz I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

Livin' the highlife

I'm watchin' porno on the TV

Wonderin' why she'd ever leave me

I'm a lowlife

The object of my affection

Asked the police for protection

I'm a lowlife

The romance is gone, I'm doin' fine

Me and your mom had a real good time

Just last night

Cuz I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

I make black music for the white man

Keep cocaine upon my nightstand

I'm a lowlife

Ain't never hung out in the Catskills

But I've been to jail in Nashville

I'm a lowlife

I've got a dirty mind, a gutter mouth

I'm makin' time, I'm goin' out

With your wife

I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

I'm a lowlife

Livin' the highlife

Behold the way our fine feathered friend,

His virtue doth parade

Thou knowest not, my dim-witted friend

The picture thou hast made

Thy vacant brow, and thy tousled hair

Conceal thy good intent

Thou noble upright truthful sincere,

And slightly dopey gent

Your'e my funny valentine,

Sweet comic valentine,

You make me smile with my heart.

Your looks are laughable, unphotographical,

Yet, you're my favorite work of art.

Is your figure less than Greek?

Is your mouth a little weak?

When you open it to speak, are you smart?

But, don't change a hair for me.

Not if you care for me.

Stay little valentine, stay!

Each day is valentines day

Is your figure less than Greek?

Is your mouth a little weak?

When you open it to speak, are you smart?

But, don't change a hair for me.

Not if you care for me.

Stay little valentine, stay!

Each day is valentines day

OK Fine - No real song lyrics, just a prayer...

Our lager,

Which art in barrels,

Hallowed be thy drink.

Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk),

At home as it is in the pub.

Give us this day our foamy head,

And forgive us our spillages,

As we forgive those who spill against us.

And lead us not to incarceration,

But deliver us from hangovers.

For thine is The beer, The bitter, The lager.

Forever and ever,

Barmen.

Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high

There's a land that I heard of

Once in a lullaby

Somewhere over the rainbow

Skies are blue

And the dreams that you dare to dream

Really do come true

Some day I'll wish upon a star

And wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where troubles melt like lemondrops

Away above the chimney tops

That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow

Bluebirds fly

Birds fly over the rainbow

Why then, oh why can't I?

Some day I'll wish upon a star

And wake up where the clouds are far behind me

Where troubles melt like lemondrops

Away above the chimney tops

That's where you'll find me

Somewhere over the rainbow

Bluebirds fly

Birds fly over the rainbow

Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly

Beyond the rainbow

Why, oh why can't I?

Sometimes I try to do things and they just don't turn out the way I want it to and I get real frustrated and it's like I take my time and I try real hard and no matter what I do and no matter what I try it never works out. It's like I concentrate on it real hard but it never works out. It's like I need some time to figure these things out, but there's always someone there going, hey Mike, you know we've been noticing you've been having a lot of problems lately. You know, like, maybe you should talk about it and you'll feel a lot better and I go: No it's okay, I'm having some problems, I'll figure it out myself, just leave me alone, I'll figure it out and they go, why don't you talk about it, you'll feel a lot better and I go, no I don't want to, just leave me alone, I'll figure it out myself and they keep on bugging me and it builds up inside, builds up inside.

So you're gonna be institutionalized. You'll come out brainwashed with bloodshot eyes.

You won't have any say. They'll brainwash you until you see their way.

I'm not crazy - institutionalized

You're the one that's crazy - institutionalized

You're driving me crazy - institutionalized

They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution

To give me the needed professional help to protect me from the enemy, myself.

I was sitting in my room and I was like staring at the walls thinking about everything. But then again I was thinking about nothing. And then my mom came in and I didn't even know she was there and she called my name and I didn't hear her, and then she started screaming: MIKE! MIKE! And I go: What, what's the matter? And she goes: What's the matter with you? I said: Nothing Mom. She goes: Don't tell me nothing, you're on drugs! I go: No mom I'm not on drugs I'm okay, I was just thinking you know why don't you get me a Pepsi? And she goes: No you're on drugs! You're crazy! Normal people don't be acting that way! I go: Mom, I'm alright, I'm just thinking, you know? So why don't you, like, give me a Pepsi and she goes no, you're crazy! All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me. Just one Pepsi!

They give you a white shirt with long sleeves! Tied around your back, you're treated like thieves!

Drug you up because they're lazy! It's too much work to help a crazy!

I'm not crazy - institutionalized

You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized

You're driving me crazy - institutionalized

They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution

To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself.

I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up a chair and they sat down, they go: Mike, we need to talk to you. And I said: Okay what's the matter? They go: Me and your mom we've been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of problems, and you haven't been acting like yourself and we're afraid that you're gonna hurt somebody and we're afraid that you're gonna hurt yourself. So we decided that it would be in your best interest if we put you somewhere where you could get the help that you need. And I said: Wait, what are we talking about, we decided!? My best interest?! How could you know, how could you say what MY best interest is? What are you trying to say, I'm crazy? Well, I went to your schools, I went to your churches, I went to your institutional learning facilities! So how can you say that I'm crazy?

They say they're gonna fix my brain. Alleviate my suffering and my pain.

But by the time they fix my head. Mentally I'll be dead.

I'm not crazy - institutionalized

You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized

You're driving me crazy - institutionalized

They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution

To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself

It doesn't matter, the insurance money's about to run out anyway (laughs)

John Lennon's Woman

Woman I can hardly express

My mixed emotions at my thoughtlessness

After all Im forever in your debt

And woman I will try to express

My inner feelings and thankfulness

For showing me the meaning of success

Ooh, well, well

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Ooh, well, well

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Woman I know you understand

The little child inside of the man

Please remember my life is in your hands

And woman hold me close to your heart

However distant dont keep us apart

After all it is written in the stars

Ooh, well, well

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Ooh, well, well

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Well

Woman please let me explain

I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain

So let me tell you again and again and again

I love you, yeah, yeah

Now and forever

I love you, yeah, yeah

Now and forever

I love you, yeah, yeah

Now and forever

I love you, yeah, yeah

John Lennon's Imagine

Imagine there's no Heaven

It's easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today

Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will live as one

That "I Want You" segment about the draft looks eerily similar in style to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - is the whole thing like that?

I'd like to see "The Wall" again - this time in DVD instead of someone's copy-of-a-copy VHS.

Nobody Home- by Pink Floyd

I've got a little black book with my poems in.

Got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in.

When I'm a good dog, they sometimes throw me a bone in.

I got elastic bands keepin my shoes on.

Got those swollen hand blues.

Got thirteen channels of shit on the T.V. to choose from.

I've got electric light, And I've got second sight.

And amazing powers of observation.

And that is how I know

When I try to get through

On the telephone to you

There'll be nobody home.

I've got the obligatory Hendrix perm.

And the inevitable pinhole burns

All down the front of my favorite satin shirt.

I've got nicotine stains on my fingers.

I've got a silver spoon on a chain.

I've got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains.

I've got wild staring eyes.

And I've got a strong urge to fly.

But I got nowhere to fly to.

Ooooh, Babe when I pick up the phone

There's still nobody home.

I've got a pair of Gohills boots

and I got fading roots....

No need to be sorry, me2. I just meant that I personally stay away from most music now because of songs like that. I certainly don't begrudge anyone else enjoying music.

I used to listen to country western a lot. Even took line dancing lessons once. Used to dance at Sheiks. I know, I'm a geek.

Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western.

I happen to like all different types of music

this just happens to be a country singer

A song can be a heavy metal thrasher or country or blues or christian or no words at all... its the passion and meaning inside the song that draws me.....

"if you love someone you say it. you say it right then. outloud. or the moment just passes you by."

I can't let this one go by without saying something. It's just a beautiful, yet terribly heart wrenching song. I don't know how I would function on a daily basis if I lost my best friend and love of my life and I could only be so lucky that someone would love and think of me like that after I die. :frown: and even more lucky if they loved me like that while I was still alive - ALL AROUND IT SUCKS BIGTIME! :crying:

hug for you eags. (and you too cm, if you watch it)

I remember watching the making of that video somewhere...probably CMT, the woman in the video thought about the saddest things she could to look so sad.

Oh My God! WoW! :crying: :crying:

Well that just goes to show you how powerful music can be.

I dislike country music with a passion and I came in here with a totally different mindset only to be tossed into a sobbing frenzy at the drop of a hat. Damn Eags. I'm sorry it still hits you hard like this. I can only hope that these types of feelings diminish over time cause they suck. I know they won't ever totally go away but hope that someday I can watch something like that without becoming paralyzed.

I'm sorry CM. Yeah, it gets better with time. Its been a long time since I've felt the paralysis you describe, but that is an apt description for the "early" months. I dislike CW music too, but this had me crying pretty hard. Doesn't help that I'm pretty sick with a cold right now and feeling sorry for myself to begin with. But yeah, I too know these kinds of reactions don't ever totally go away, but oh yeah, it does get better. Hugs to you CM.
