Hey... does anyone know what kind of a van the mystery machine was modeled after??? I am thinking VW... but doesn't really match up with what I have seen...
With the front of a VW bus, the body of a Citroen Camionette, the rear of a Chevrolet van
I cannot find any other verification on this... but it would be cool to know... I have always wanted to do one since I had my '86 astro van(no, I didn't want to do it to that...)
I have friends who painted their van as the Mystery Machine for halloween a few years ago. After that, we used to take it to the drive in during the summer. It rocked!
It's not completely a guy thing. One time at Maplewood Mall I saw a hearse in the parking lot. It had one of those little yellow suction cup signs (like "Baby on Board") that said "Ex-husband in trunk" I laughed my ass off!
Cool pic. I had a black station wagon with peace signs and flowers all over it once. Once a month or so, I'd let the neighborhood kids paint over it any way they wanted. That was FUN! If it wasn't for Rustoleum paint, that car would've fallen apart. hehe
My first car was a 58 chevy. Bought it for $100 from a friend's brother's girlfriend. Had those way cooler 60's flower decals on the hood, sides and trunk and flower seat covers for the front seat. The tires were bald. The floor board had a hole in it - just the right size to ditch beer cans through. The windshield wipers only worked when you stopped at a stop sign because the vacuum thingy was all screwed up.
The first car I can remember owning on my own was a 1976 Black Bonneville A BOAT which seamed pretty close to owning a hearse. I know my friends loved the back seat.
We ditched lots of beer cans through that hole. Everyone anyone was dating was in the service and most likely in Vietnam at the time. Dating only happened if they were home on leave. Mostly it was a car load of girls at a drive-in if we could get someone to buy us some beer. We saw lots of movies those couple of summers.
I don't remember much about any of the movies or which ones we saw though. :-)
Way Cooler!

I'd like to set up a fly ass hearse.
It is alright to ride in a hearse, as long as it isn't your last ride...
Toss some ground effects/neon on there.

Check out this fly ass hearse
Yeah, neon, and flexible blacklights on the upper trim of the windows....black, gotta be black...
Always black..... lots of chrome.... Purple or green neon.
Awesome!
I've always wanted a hearse! Must be a guy thing.

My dad was the one that told me about it....he figured it would be a great car..
Low miles, not "raced", well taken care, yada yada yada....

My Mom also owned a Pacer X at one time.
I'm still in therapy.

I loved that car. Wish I still had it.
My first was a 76 Malibu classic I painted a wolf on the trunk very cool.
I had a '59 DeSoto hardtop. It had those big fins and the push button transmission. My favorite car ever.
My first 3 cars were Torinos. No real reason why.
Although we did paint a huge Popeye on my friends hood of his Chevelle.

Nice. I had a 75.
I did like Starsky & Hutch and two of them were Gran Torinos but they weren't painted red w/ white stripe unfortunately. :-(

I learned to drive in a '50 Packard. Talk about a boat!Â
I learned to drive in a rambler wagon with a stick on the column. The gas pedal was missing so there was only the bar coming up out of the floor.
I learned to drive a stick in a couple of cemeteries -

My 75 Malibu had a stick on the column. Three on the tree! That's how I learned to drive too. Most people have never heard of that. Cool!
I hope that worked out okay, me2, and you stayed on the roads. :-)

Haha TV. You crack me up!!
My first car was a 71 Dodge Charger. Oh boy, was she fast!
