I was thinking about how she must of felt being late.
THAT would never leave my memory. always late.
sooooo, how irony usually works is that if you think about it at the time and just let it pass... than something will happen and you look back at that moment you could have changed. I was on the phone with Ecolab this morning about paperwork I need to get in. One of the sheets I was thinking of passing up was the continuation of Life Insurance for the next 2 months. (It's only good til the first week in April because of when I was layed off...I would have to send in a check seperate and more paperwork to stop it in 2 months). I told her I REALLY don't want to die in the next 2 months!! well maybe if I could die for 2 months and then come back later when the stress is gone.
you tried and didn't just stand there when you knew how to do SOMETHING/ANYHTHING!
I learned how to use the paddles of those new contraptions when someone has a heartattack - after Santa Dave. I cried during the class because of the "only if" or "what if" factor. only if the restaurant had them... :frown:
It's been a crazy weekend. The following day, I went to go support their team because the they had another game, and the opponents wouldn't let them forfeit (insert swear words here) so my team rallied and we showed up and filled their roster, and although we didn't win, we only lost by 2 and really got out there and tried.
Our Captain - is having his number 27 in orange (their color) sewn on both our, and their shirts in honor. I went to my friend the jeweler and got his wife a little angel charm, so he can always be with her. It's been such an amazing thing to see the outpouring of love of complete strangers.
so... the other crazy part of all of this. The CHP teammate of mine who did the CPR (aka guy i'm seeing) was on his way to make the scrimage and not 3 miles from home, gets in an accident on his bike on the freeway.
He's fine (although his ego is a bit bruised) but man, Talk about scary!
ya.. the bike it totalled... good thing it was his work motorcycle and BMW makes a strong bike. He'll be fine. His thumb is sprained so that makes things a little interesting (like he can't hold a pen or a knife or anything else..) it's funny cause he'll forget and do something with his right hand and then be frustrated.
I'm just glad he's ok. I don't need any more drama this week!
enjoy: finding out that the contract my pimp has me on is up at the end of march.
not so enjoy: hearing rumors that finances may not be there to renew the contracts.
the overall enjoy about this of course is that i have 5 weeks to get out of dodge voluntarily before i have to worry about getting out of dodge involuntarily
enjoy: getting a half a dozen resumes sent out this afternoon to as many employers regarding 10 job openings i could fit into.
so the move i've been wanting to make to shorten my commute may turn into a move of necessity but without a shorter commute. ugh.
applying to a handful of places. This job search stuff is time consuming and hard. Now to get some interviews!!!!
I was suprised (shouldn't have been) to see that some low paying jobs required a Bachelors Degree!! why pay $50 grand in school to get a $30 grand job? this is stupid. I'm obviously looking for more pay - just suprised at the credentials businesses are looking for in this economy.
It's actually nothing like what I was waiting for but something innovative and involving technology. Which I love. It'll be a huge undertaking and I'll be the guru of the project but I'll love having my own baby to manage.
I'll be attending a bunch of meetings coming up to figure out details. Might even be a raise involved with it. Unfortunately, I'll still be needing to help out in HR until the new mommy returns from her leave. She had her twins last night!
I am a bit optimistic with the new venture. My company felt it was a perfect fit for me and am happy I'm on board with the idea.
You're next J!! Keep plugging away. Any company would be more than happy to have you as part of their team.
Heck - maybe I'll employ you someday soon myself.
BTW - Call and remind me Lil about our earlier convo.
yay for CM! Me2 - your ticket is just around the corner.. I can feel it.
Enjoy: Surgery went well. He's feeling really good .. ok and high as a kite on pain killers but that's good too - somehow -- right?
Also enjoy: the gift fairy has struck again the last two days
yesterday I got a package from my friend who I get to see in NOLA it was a 'wish you were here for madi gras complete with beads, NOLA chocolates, and gummy bears
Today I got a GC for my tanning from now until July at the local salon cause I'm an awesome person (who has apparently too white of legs to be seen in shorts)
AND -- yesterday. I got 18 board games for $19.92 cents at Barnes and Noble
AND -- my car came back from the shop - total damages? $25!!!! needed some fluid. whooo hooo
enjoy: Mr. Damn Near Perfect. It's been a long time since I've actually enjoyed someones company the way I do his. (even hopped up on painkillers last night, he was intelligent, funny, and well, adorable in a dizzy drunk sorta way... )
enjoy: having daughter #1 get accepted into the college of her choice and being named art honor student of the year at her school within a week of each other.
not so enjoy: said college is $21k a year.
argh.
good thing we're both in school. might help with loans and grants. i prefer the latter.
college of visual arts on summit. we were so excited we took the acceptance letter and the tuition deposit check to the airport post office on saturday night just to get it in. she got a call back the other day from her admissions counselor who told her that she was the first case they'd ever had where they had the deposit back in their hands before they made a congratulatory phone call to the person.
I like your friends red top
hope the date was nice.
There are soooooo many times I ask/say 'what the **** is wrong with people?' and then there are those moments like this.Life is fragile.
hug for you sam for being there - my nose is running for you and his wife now.

The rooms look rather dull - but I would hope you wouldn't spend that much time in your room.
