tc and i picked up new "ultra portable" lappy's last month. 13" machines. i also custom ordered an 18" hp for "portable desktop" use in the office. i got the quad core version, and was pleasantly surprised to see it look like an 8-core thanks to hyperthreading. all in all, i think i have on the order of 32 cpu cores in the house right now.
FWIW I checked into an HP, but the model I was most interested in (the 17" HP Envy) had way too many bad reviews about overheating. Too bad really, but it would have been an extra 300 bucks anyway.
Talk about taking the kid to the best game of the season. Well the best 3 minutes anyway. Super loud and way fun. So many people left. Morons Same thing happened when me2 and I went to our last game and we came back and won from 14 pts down. I guess I don't get the leaving early thing for anything.

Enjoy getting my second tattoo today on 11/11 ; because 10/10 I was still in the hospital and my artist said no way was she gonna mess around with a fresh surgery.
awww CM you beat me too it!! I was just going to post that too! I LOVE the first snow fall, people think I'm weird because I love snow. I love the way it looks all pristine. covers up all the mucky brown. I figure if we have to have cold weather the best thing is to have a snow to make it all better.
realizing that I have many friends to be thankful for and that will show me that I'm loved even when I'm having a horrible emotional week. Thank you all!

This afternoon, we were out digging out the snow ridge left from the plows. A guy in a 4x4 and plow was going by, stopped, backed up, motioned us out of the way and cleared almost all of it. 5 minutes later and we were done.
Now that will give us some left over energy for when our alley gets plowed. If the alley doesn't get plowed, we aren't going anywhere. We have a call in for him, but I'm guessing he is out doing the best he can.
Similar thing happened to me this morning, Terry. I woke up to my two sets of front stairs shoveled. The young man next door will do that when we get a lot of snow. Then later this afternoon I was out shoveling out my Jeep and the same young man and his brother came out and finished the job for me. They are grown up now and were visiting the folks, but the same boys who shoveled for us years ago. They wouldn't take any money.
Not that I can go anywhere anyway either though. No alley shoveled her yet either. And when it does finally show up, I'll have to dig through all of that.
We're still waiting for the plow to come by here and plow us in.. I hope they come soon, I really don't want to wake up early to take care of it before work...
The plowing company flaked on our apartment complex or something because they only came through 2 times on Saturday to make a pass through the middle of each lot which was enough to block in all the cars with 3 feet of snow. Management had to get a new company to come out they finally made it out at 5pm tonight to start opening the lots!! IT was CRAZY everyone was out trying to help each other shovel out cars and get them pushed out to the streets. I'm just happy my lot was done around 8pm tonight finally because walking 6+ blocks from the street parking sucks in negative temps!
not so much enjoy - the fact that it takes me 10 minutes to walk down 12 stairs today. I feel like a freight train hit me.
