Woodbury Days medallion hunt is over

Submitted by Administrator on

A family of four became this year's winners of the annual Woodbury Days medallion hunt on Tuesday morning, shortly before 10 a.m.

Dean and Sue Ziertman, with their sons Bodie, six, and Ryker, three, found the medallion within a half-hour of their arrival at the Evergreen West park.

"I didn't think to look for it until this morning," explained Dean, adding that he had taken the week off work and was looking for something to do with the kids.

"Everybody knew it was Evergreen; there were a lot of people down there, probably 50 people altogether."

They found the medallion tucked in among the boards making up the border of the park's outdoor ice rink, covered in leaves to disguise it from casual passers-by.

The family won a $250 shopping spree at stores around Woodbury. They would have won $500 had the family purchased and registered a Woodbury Days button.
