Power Street is located in the industrial area of the West Side Flats near the Mississippi River (close to the intersection of Plato Blvd and Starkey St/Lilydale Rd area).
Austin Street is located in a different part of the city, typically associated with residential areas in the northwest part of St. Paul (near the Como Park area).
'Shag' has me thinking of shagging balls or pucks, and seeing 'game' in the next line sort of reinforces it. Line three immediately evoked graffiti for me. Almost like saying you don't need to 'vandal' to get your handle (name) on a building. All together, I wondered if this one points to a sports building/area. Anyone else feeling that?
Like previous years, I can always spin the clues to fit any park. Lol. If it's in Battle Creek, I would want to see a clear reference to 3M. But Knight=McKnight and all of the clues that seem to align with that genre is certainly intriguing! :)
Hi Jone, You know I really do think that is the basics for clue 4. However one addition I would like to make No need to vandal to get a good handle (My handle is Snowflake) So I was thinking of other handles like the "Cooler Crew" and their Commemorative rhyme (Not really a rhyme) "You dig?" Referring to exactly what you are saying (Bring basic hunt gear, not tools. Bring your warm clothes, gloves, flashlight/headlamp and not haul all of the tools. Maybe it is in plain sight if you get lucky???)
Snowflake - my head is about to explode too. I wonder if the 4th clue is as simple as.........Bring basic hunt gear, not tools. Bring your warm clothes, gloves, flashlight/headlamp and not haul all of the tools. Maybe it is in plain sight if you get lucky??? Also.........clue 1 got me thinking about the "No need for sulkin...back to the Vulcan" I think historically King Boreas was the ruler of the downtown area and the Vulcan ruled over by the fairgrounds (where the Vulcan Snow Park is located). I know it can't be on the Fairgrounds, but that is just down the street from Como and that is why I was thinking about Como. Plus all the historical significance of that park; that and Rice Park being the first parks in Minnesota and all of the WC events over the years. Just noodling..........carry on. Jone
Clue# 2
I also am getting a headache now. My brain is going to explode soon... Not really. Sublime a commemorative rhyme (Raise up a commemorative rhyme). What are the most common phrases used during the WC? Well on the button it says "the coolest celebration on earth" The clue writer says "the deed is done" The Cooler Crew says "you dig?" The patch say's "celebrating 140 years of winter magic 2026" on the website. So which one do you want to raise up? A third of it's history a writer of mystery 1/3rd of 140 puts us in the year 1980 but if we look at the history of the hunt beginning in 1952 1/3rd of that puts us in 2002. We never know who the writers are until they pass away. I found it interesting in 2002 Jim Ragsdale was the clue writer through 2011. He only did parks in St. Paul. 2002 Merriam Park, 2003 Como Park, 2004 Phalen, 2005 Crosby, 2006 Battle Creek, 2007 Hidden Falls, 2008 Mounds, 2009 Swede Hollow, 2010 Lilydale, and finally his last was 2011 Battle Creek.
Sublime= Of such excellence, grandeur or beauty as to inspire awe or admiration
= *Undergo change from a solid to a gas without becoming a liquid (I find this the most interesting definition)
= Elevate to a high degree of moral or spiritual purity or excellence
Commemorative= Acting as a memorial or mark of event or person
An object or stamp or coin made to mark an event or honor a person
Cheers= Expressing good wishes before drinking
= Expressing good wishes on parting or ending a conversation
Spun= turn or cause to turn or whirl around quickly
= to draw out
Sorcery= The use of magic, especially black magic

Nice noodles, Snowflake. ❤️ Are you also getting some sort of a Stranger Things vibe? IDK... I keep thinking America's 250, SPWC 140, and the end of Stranger Things (I don't want to give away the ending for anyone, but I am getting "Hidden Falls" vibes at this point).

Clue# 1
I feel absolutely crazy for the next week or so. Constantly extrapolating on everything in the hunt and in real life.... The swag is more than likely in St. Paul. Since we are celebrating 140 years of the Winter Carnival. The main idea of the Winter Carnival is the battle between forces King Boreas (Winter/Cold) vs Vulcanus Rex (Spring/Hot). I am sure you are all aware by now that 7 score equals 140 which matches the 140 anniversary. The mythic lore is the story of the winter carnival as written by Frank Madden in 1937. In the lore Boreas proclaims: “Historic Saint Paul and her seven hills! An ideal place. I will make Saint Paul the capitol of all my domains! It will henceforth be emblazoned throughout the world as the winter playground of the Realm of Boreas.” Which states Saint Paul and her seven hills. *(St. Paul) I also like to define words. We always think we know the meaning of a word until we don't.
Swag= A curtain or piece of fabric fastened to hang in a drooping curve.
= Money or goods taken by a thief
= Bold self assurance
= A Travelers or Miners bundle of belongings
= Things you are given for free from a party or event
Notorious= Famous or well known for something negative in quality or deed
Mythic= Relating to or resembling myth; exaggerated or idealized
Lore= A body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth
Sulk= To be uncommunicative and bad tempered on account of annoyance or resentment
Score= Archaic term was commonly used during the middle ages to measure time. Score= 20 years

B2 and Arcade looks to be Spoon Lake. Maybe. I was also pondering the south part of Phalen by the Dragon poetry garden. Arcade would make sense for that as well. David B. Allison

Maybe No need “to be” vandal to get a good handle - county road B2? And the game is an arcade game. Arcade st.
The clues are starting to read like role playing video games or dungeons and dragons type games. Talk of fulfilling your quest, sages, sorcery, mythic lore, and getting a good handle. Clue 3 has me thinking of old magazines filled with beautiful women(dolls) smoking cigarettes(sticks/twigs) and flashy alcohol ads. I've also thought of Ken doll and the model Twiggy. Twigs, dolls, demonic and sage even got me down a poppet/voodoo doll path. Paul Simon has a song "rythym of the saints." The medallion has been found in twigs and in a doll. ... so clearly I'm all over the place. I feel like the word shag had to be significant. Why not say pack your bag for riches to snag? Shag a fly ball in baseball game? My ideas are usually way off but I like to share since I thoroughly enjoy reading all of yours.Cheers and happy hunting!
