I actually watched a fair amount of the Oscars. I was burning some discs on the computer, so I'd watch for a while, then run upstairs and switch discs, etc., then go back and watch some more.
Now c'mon, Bud, style and high profile? My taste is all in my mouth, and I think people who try for a high profile are insecure.
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I've never seen anything interesting or stylish about hair that looks like an explosion in a mattress factory, or that looks like you just got out of the shower.
I've actually met/worked with Cameron Diaz and she was very nice, down to earth. Personally I think not caring about what other people think builds self-esteem, not diminishs it.
Watched "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" the other day. I think Dal and Snow Poker were talking about it at Fern's the night of the Mock Hunt Pre-Dig. It was hilarious! It sorta reminded me of Pink Floyd The Wall towards the end, just not as psycadelic. The Music was good, and an interesting story.
I wasn't talking about what other people think. I was talking about self-image.
I dunno, maybe spending a day without combing your hair reflects a bad self-image, but spending money to make your hair LOOK like you didn't comb it reflects a good self-image.

It reflects a good sense of humor, but not everyone can appreciate that. I think Ares got it.
someone was talking about Grosse Point earlier on here and I thought I'd chime in and say that this was one of my favs of all time. And yes both of the soundtrack albums absolutely rock.
don't be fooled by the action theme of the movie, it's more than just that. there's actually a chick-flick theme to it as well. other than that, i'll give it 4 stars out of 5.
next week: episode 2 (hopefully from a midnite showing thursday morning maybe even earlier if my buddy can get me in to the theater's employee sneak preview).
ok now you're gonna make me put the ep 1 dvd in the 'puter and find it.
yeah i saw ep 2 last saturday. ironically, after ep 1, it was much better than i expected it to be. with the exception of one little line from anakin "i've thought about you every day since we parted" (wtf??? the kid was like 9 at the end of ep1) it was quite good. i'm very much looking forward to episode 3
I will go a month or two after it opens. I could careless for the bigger crowds.
I'm with you Wolvie. However, my "better half" does not share your view, so we will most likely see it in the first week.
i figure it took me till memorial day weekend last time around to see it. it'll prolly take me that long this time around too.
If there are any foriegn film fans, check out "Lagaan"! Its a musical set in India, the story is good, and the music is awesome!
Is is subtitled?
last i checked, english was one of the official languages of india, frosti :)
Well, you never know. I'm pretty sure English isn't the only official language of India. ;-)
Anyone actually watch the Oscars?
4 1/2 hours? Dear God!
I didn't watch it. Too much self-back patting and who really cares anyway? The movies I like rarely win an oscar anyway.
Yes it was sub-titled, I'm going to watch it again cuz I missed alot by distraction.
All I saw of the Oscars is what was on the news.

I figured Carmen Diaz prolly forgot about her hair appointment.
Oops, Cameron

I don't think she cares what her hair looks like
Obviously.
That tells me her opinion of herself.
Hi Bud! Cool new avatar!

now I gotta wait 'til Christmas?
never having read the books, i got to the end of it and said "huh?"

um, is that hair gel?
yeah
great, cuz i could use some.
i guess she took the movie into reality.

I'm not even supposed to be here today!
Villification, Bud. :)
Now get out of her, you bunch of easily led automatons!
I thoght I would share this cool site to download movies at.
 www.bearshare.com
They have movies that are still in the theaters.
someone was talking about Grosse Point earlier on here and I thought I'd chime in and say that this was one of my favs of all time. And yes both of the soundtrack albums absolutely rock.
It's a growth industry.
I love Ben Stiller but, Zoolander is the worst movie I can ever remember watching.
Simply horrible.
I heard it was bad but I thought "It's Ben Stiller, it can't be that bad".
It's worse than that bad.
Simply horrible.
Reindeer Games sucked, too.
Yeah, I saw that one too. Pretty stupid.
Did it shake your faith in Ben Stiller, THX?
Naw, I still like him. Zoolander just sucked is all. :-)
Another complaint about Zoolander was trying to accept Owen Wilson as a model with that mangled nose of his. I just ain't buying it.
review o' the week: spiderman
kirsten dunst: hot!

Rented "The Others" this past weekend. I actually enjoyed it and I can't stand Nicole Kidman.
I didn't care one way or the other for "The Others". The Mrs. liked it though.
question: in the original star wars movie, what's the cell block number that chewie is being transferred from in the rescue operation on leia?
Cell Block 1138?
lucas really liked that number didn't he?
Yeah, rumor is that his phone number in college was 849-1138
Not only does he use the number in just about every one of his movies, many other directors do as well as a sort of "Inside joke" amongst each other.
Did you see it in AOTC? I haven't seen Episode II yet but I saw 1138 on a droid in Episode I.
ok now you're gonna make me put the ep 1 dvd in the 'puter and find it.

I wonder if the deciding factor in THX's dream house is an address of 1138?

Never even crossed my mind, until now.
