The other day I was thinking to myself "If it stays like this I can paint the fence in a few weeks".
jt, yesterday i was thinking to myself, "i wonder how much snow there is up in duluth. i might be tempted to make the drive and do some skiing." :)
kt, i've got a snow shovel and a post hole digger in the trunk of my tempo year-round. i've also still got the garden spade in my trunk. (one of these days i'll make it to merriam and find the thing myself :)
so, if the ground looks like this, and i have to drive my hoopty, yeah i'll have a shovel or 2.
For Sale: Refrigerator, stopped working last month, you haul, contents included
that quote reminds me of a commercial i saw on tv last nite. guy opens fridge, takes carton of milk. drinks. spits all over kitchen. wife says "by the way, the refrigerator stopped working last week"
kt, before the 4th day of this last hunt, i lived exclusively in the computers and minds of my fellow hunters, and i liked it. then scribe hauled my butt out one nite, and i've gotten this sort of celebrity status. of course now that i've come out of hiding, i have to go to everything there is :) in other words, i'm not the guy to ask.
OK, Will all who check in today please let me know about the dog potential? You see, I'd like to bring Hannah, but not if it means others can't bring their furry friends. Hannah is not dangerous, but due to the fact that she IS a wolf, I work hard to avoid any situation that could cause anxiety.:)...And she gets plenty of free running time.
I've not seen too many other pets at these events but a wolf may be scary to some people. And I checked out the park on Sunday afternoon, about the same time we would be there, and there were several other people in the park, some of them walking dogs, so it's not like our group would be the only one to think about.
Sometimes I wonder if somehow days get to be longer than 24 hours if you turn your back at the wrong time. Today sure felt like two long ones.
As far as dogs go at these events...I think as long as leash laws are followed, there shouldn't be any problems. There are often little kids in attendance so any animal should be kid friendly and watched when kids are around.
The dog that was at the re-hash belongs to "Crafty" and is a husky/australian shepherd mix, but looked wolfish and was pretty friendly.
I've met Hannah, and would think there would be no problems, she's very friendly and well behaved. I'd trust her more than some dogs I know! KT-If there are any potential problems (other dogs in area or whatever) maybe she could go in the van?
Sounds like there should be some decent weather Sunday, maybe some scattered showers(possible thunderstorm) in the AM, but clearing up and in the 50's after noon!
Anyone have any ideas on what they're bringing for food?
Artemis, the area around the fire-pit is paved, as well as the pathways. If you really want mud, I'm sure we can find some nearby, so you won't be disappointed :) ...And to ease minds, I don't let Hannah run free in public places, she is VERY good around people, once she understands the situation. She spent the first 6 years of her life at my store,as my people greeter. She isn't too scary. And will do any number of things to recieve a hot dog.
Hey! Ian, I look like the fat Julia! Excepting my forehead isn't shiny.I'll give autographs at the bonfire. Of course I kind of consider myself as the female John Candy....But I have a wolf, so you can't tease me...at least not in person. Anyone with access to some wood should bring some. If you think it's too big, I have a saw.And an axe. And a shovel with teeth.
I feel like a weenie today, cause I cannot keep up with the msnbc chatroom.Does anyone have ideas for the pot-luck? NO, I'm NOT bringing cheesecake. Or anything alfredo. Who likes hot (spicy) garlicy stuff?
OH! So it's like my "pinchy"van! ...A 1985 astro cargo, spray-painted...But it loves to go down the road, and there's not much an anxious wolf can do in the way of damage, and I can use it to haul stuff I need for bonfires...
well, mine needs some rust sanded down off of it and a bit of repainting in a spot that tends to rust on tempos, that and its got this behavior problem when its cold and the engine is warm. if i have to keep it through next winter, i'll have it looked into, but with my luck its an injector that needs to be replaced and i just don't wanna do that, when for the next 6 months i'll be driving my mustang.
i'd love to trade the thing in on another ford with an svt badge (2000 svt contour specifically), or something big enough to tow the car trailer we've got, but i really do have better things at the moment to spend that money on.
Well, folks, time to shower in sheetrock dust, and towel off with sheetrock dust, and brush my teeth with sheetrock dust. Guess what we're doing at my house? I wonder if people like sheetrock dust pizza?
Hi everyone-I know I am kinda late on the conversations, but...
And Porky's too! That would be a cool late night Medallion Hunter place to eat.
I think that sounds COOL for a future event-
About Krispy Kreme
Hmmmm...It looks like doughnut?....smells like a doughnut?...looks like a doughnut shop?...hmmm BUT....the Becker Art Supply in Burnsville looked like an art supply shop but sure didn't smell like an art supply shop and sure did not sell 'art supplies'
KT - I dont mind you bringing your dog at all. And looks like you, me, and Ares have a lot in common with sheetrock. You will know us when you see us on Sunday by how dusty-white we are :)
I was curious to know if she is all wolf or a dog/wolf mix.
Where did you get her? I've often thought of owning a true wolf, and I know that they require special handling. Is it true that they cannot be housebroken? Do you keep her outside? Is she spayed?
Muskwa, You DO NOT want a wolf!!!!! I will NEVER do it again!!!! I got her from a breeder thinking I knew what I was in for. Are you coming to the bonfire?
I want this snow gone. The other day I was thinking to myself "If it stays like this I can paint the fence in a few weeks".
Yeah right!

Ares, maybe you can help me... do you go to these bonfires regularly?...Do people bring their dogs?...How many dogs? How big are their dogs?

Wasn't the wolf at the rehash bash?
Was it? If so I don't think it was running free. I guess it's the running free part that worries me more than just having a wolf there.
there was a dog there. i vaguely recall someone mentioning it was part wolf. beyond that, i don't remember.
Yeah, you were pretty drunk that day, Ares.
:-)
oh yeah. real drunk. i think it was that bottle of whatever it was we used to mark the location of our frozen puck. :)
Outta here til tommorow.
Good Evening!

ian is that really necessary???? :)
Ares, I actually HAVE pictures like that of myself. The 25 year old me, and the 40 year old me. It's like a reverse slim-fast commercial.
its not the pics themselves, kt. its that they're so last week. :)
Ares, Hannah likes red licorice, too. I will be bringing her on sunday, she is a great addition to bonfires.Oh, what's a "hoopty"?
that would be my piece of sh*t car. a '92 ford tempo. somehow, i don't think bringing that'll be necessary though.

Is Hannah a wolf or a cross-bred?
Hannah is a Timber/Arctic/Red cross.
Well, folks, time to shower in sheetrock dust, and towel off with sheetrock dust, and brush my teeth with sheetrock dust. Guess what we're doing at my house? I wonder if people like sheetrock dust pizza?
love it, kt. i was doing some of that at my brother's place a week ago. lol!
Timber = timber wolf?
What are Arctic and Red?

Muskwa....Arctic Wolf (or Tundra Wolf) And Red Wolf. Hannah the wolf is a wolf. Why do you ask?
