Ian, thanx for the link. It wasn't quite what I'd hoped for, but thanx just the same. I wish a guy could get $ for ideas for websites... To be able to enter key cities, and estimated dates of arrival for a cross country road trip, hit "enter" ONCE, and get a " travelling weather report" would be a cool thing. I found no such thing. I kept having to back out and enter a new city, and state each time...But in case you're interested, leaving Mpls,St. paul on sunday, and heading west to the Pacific NW, You should bring polar fleece, and rain gear:) I'm smelling the pork chops I have in the oven, which means I should set the table. Have a warm evening everybody!

Artemis, I'm still enjoying those books you gave me. It was good to see you again. Hannah was off- key on Sunday, I have NO idea why she limped... Yesterday she was left home alone, and we thought we put the house in order before we left, but I left a carton of Easter eggs on the table waiting to be varnished, and she pulled them down onto the floor. We try and do Ukranian eggs every few years, they are NOT hard-boiled, and pretty much take 6-12 hours to do one egg. ICKY MESS!!! If you've never heard of them, look them up, I'm sure there's something on the web. Oops!

Nothin New with me. Talked to Tonya finally, she was bummed that she missed seeing you and Hannah.

Lookin forward to going up north this weekend, even though theres still snow on the ground up there.

LOL, my sister in law had some problems w/her ukranian eggs this easter, their cat would sneak on the table and bat them out of their basket and onto the floor, breaking them and creating quite a stinky mess!

heheh. I've been perusing Jewish papers, trying to find info on some red calf supposedly born in Jerusalem this past week for a wigged out Revelation-obsessed friend, to no avail... any ideas? any info? I'm ready to call her and tell her to have a few cocktails...:)

Ares, did you have to memorise the New Testament at any point in your life? I am intrigued by the Red Calf thingy. Revelation is a very cool read, indeed... However, I don't let other people's dreams freak me out, or send me flying into some kind of "brimstone" diatribe.

Thu, 04/11/2002 - 7:55 PM Permalink
ares

surely you jest, kt! lol!

the only dreams i let freak me out are my own. some of them just get really weird. especially the ones that actually turn out to be premonitions.

but, as for revelation, well, my domain name is the-four-horsemen.org, and well, my moniker is the greek god of war, which as i recall was one of the four horsemen, depending on which version you get (my preferred list is death, pestilence, famine, and war, though the latter is sometimes just destruction)

Don't call me surely. I just got puked off this site. But I was saying, Ares, we are lucky to have you so dedicated to the recall, and formation of the posts we made seeking that prize. ...And it was very nice to meet you at the bonfire. I tend to not get out much, and really, I'm not THAT strange!

likewise, kt. as you know, i've only actually existed for a couple of months. in fact, i was just chatting with marley who claims to have a pic of me in a diaper (methinks he was mistaking that for a thongdelier :)

as for hanging on to the posts, its not that big of a deal, just time consuming up front. and its the sort of thing where once i get it done, its one of those fire and forget type things. cuz it'll never change.

whoa! check this out guys:

Hiyall!

Checking in just in time to check out! 4:30 comes early and all of that y'know....

Sorry our bunch didn't make it to the bonfire - I'm *sure* we missed a good time :). But I am still not 100%, had a fever for 7 days straight. Emily was home from school the first 3 days this week. She's just beginning to come out of it.

Anyway, saw your post about the "red calf" KT and couldn't resist. This site has some info on the recent calf born as well as a link to an article from 1997. Evidently, this has happened before :).

MOM, That is so funny, as you posted that while I was reading that site article. There is so much anticipation about the "end times" in the Christian preachings... I will NOT live in a chronic anxiety attack frame of mind that the sky is falling. I will, however, live my life to the fullest, each day, and experience new things, and new people, and work hard, and earn "my daily bread" and if I am given the news that I'm gonna die in one minute, hour, or year, I will have no misgivings.

I'm not too bad except for being unemployed now. And even though I don't have a job, I have to get up really early tomorrow so I can be in St. Cloud by 8am.

i kinda figured as much, aw. i am rather enjoying the pre-hunt banter i'm coming across while getting the formatting right. we are all crazy, ya know that?

kt, why would i listen to them? i don't listen to them with both feet on the ground, let alone in the air. and actually, flight school is gonna have to wait. i'm hoping to get into the u's master's degree program in software engineering this fall. just to get another edge up on my sister who will be starting 8 years of optometric school (is that even a proper word???) can't have her with a doctorate and not me now, can we?

Ares, keep setting goals, keep going for those goals. I only asked about the Foo Fighters because of their song Learning to Fly. teehee. ...And then, what music DO you like?

Thu, 04/11/2002 - 9:12 PM Permalink

take your pick. ks95 or mix104. as for flying, i spend way too much time in the virtual cockpit that is ms flight simulator. way too much time. getting pretty good at it too.

...Oh, so you're a radio hound! Nothing wrong with that! I just bought the Kylie Menough (sp) cd, and decided that she is the culmination of all female pop artists ever recorded, but that one tune she does makes me feel happy, as long as I don't listen to KS95 too much...

... the flying deal, I've heard , is too cool! I have friends with pilot's licenses, and love the air. One of these friends has his own plane, but does things in it to make all other men look bad. One time he dropped 24 red roses out of it into this girls yard, in 2 feet of freshly fallen snow, one by one. He tied fishing weights to each stem, so they landed flower end up in the snow. He told me that it took him almost 2 hours to do this. (the shi**y thing is, is that he's married to someone else) But still! to have that option to woo someone...

You should call the local news (TV and paper) and get them to do a thing on that stop sign spot. Then you can go to a ciy council meeting or whatever and get it fixed. Could save many many innocent victims in the future, and tighten up the traffic stop donut fund, which can't hurt.

My guess is that it was one of Ian's usernames.

I'd back Marley up on that. Like I said, I was pulled over in the same spot two weeks before you. It's a bad stop sign. It's in a weird place and cops always hide on St Anthony just waiting for people to go through there.

It would be interesting to know how many tickets they write at that intersection.

That's the cool part about turning the news folks onto it. They'd find that shit out for you, and tell the world.

I am doing something like that.Took some picture's of stop sign and the officer sitting there waiting.I have other witnesses that have been stoped there and was planing on talking to the lady in the house past the bridge. She was observing the whole thing and has probally seen more. With all of that and a little extra I am going to meet with hearing officer on tuesday and if he/she has a bad answer for me then I had planned on calling Jeff at channel 9.Now I suppose I had better take back what I said in a earlier post.I will now stick to "not guilty".

Good Morning!

Marley - Much luck in fighting this thing. It takes someone doing that to make changes. You're not only fighting this for you, but for anyone coming after you. Don't you wish someone had done that before you got ticketed?

We're up north and I have a working computer again! Yipppeeee!!!!

Now to reinstall everything that got wiped out in the reformatting. I think I'll be busy most of the day.

Good Afternoon!

It has been a superbly fantastic day, hasn't it?

In between other things going on here and being outdoors, I've managed to install all the software I had on CD - except for the printer drivers which I forgot in the cities.

I also have been downloading updates for IE and windows. It's now official. I'm spoiled with that cable modem in the cities. Downloads on a dialup are frustratingly slow.

ain't that the truth, terry!

ok i'm tired. spent the whole day in my brother's front yard removing this 14 foot tall "weed" as he like to call it. (yes, me2, i know i told you it was like 8 feet or so, i was wrong) considering we couldn't get our hands on any high explosives, it was all dug out by hand.

Sat, 04/13/2002 - 3:04 PM Permalink
Terry

That is a lot of work.

We did some removing of bushes and trees some years back. We did some digging and loosening and then tied a chain to the trailer hitch of our Eagle wagon, put it into 4WD and pulled 'em out of their holes that way.

Sat, 04/13/2002 - 3:09 PM Permalink
ares

well, none of us has access at the moment to anything with sufficient power to remove the thing. (no guys, really, we're not gonna put a hitch on the back of my mustang). but it was enjoyable; it let me take out some of my frustrations on something that no one really cared about :) call it stress relief.

There sure is satisfaction in finally getting that clump of roots out of the hole, isn't it?

We have a stump here from a fallen tree - oak - that we've dug up around some and now have a salt block sitting on it hoping that will help eat away at it. Oak stumps are really difficult to get out...but where there is a will, there is a way.

In the meantime, the deer have the salt for their diet.

out there, terry, you can use explosives to get rid of the thing. that and its a really impressive sight. :)
