Older men don't have the stamina of younger men, but then again, they often have the experience to make stamina irrelevent. ;-)

He's saying that older men may not have the stamina to dig for a little puck for long periods of time out in the chilling cold of a winter's night. They do have the experience though of knowing how to pace their digging, where to and not to dig, what to look for, and how to maximize their digging efforts.

Older men are better diggers. But younger men can go out digging more than once per night.

<snerk>

of course that whole theory goes out the window when someone finds the treasure during the day.

Blasted day hunters! It's not natural.

guilty as charged. of course some of those quickies have been known to turn into long digging sessions.

I've never had a lunchtime quickie. I've always taken the whole day off for my digging sessions.

ATTENTION EVERYONE, I HAVE A JOE!

i woulda taken the whole day off that day, 'cept i had some critical stuff to do at work before i could dig.

Well, the way I figure it, with the number of people digging, my chances are 1/1000 at best.

Therefore the opportunity cost just isn't worth it.

And how did we get into innuendo without Me2?

I did slog and it was her question that I was answering in regards to you being past your prime, but the innuendo didn't actually start until Frosti chimed in (or was it TMK?) in response to Jethro's response to my response to Me2.

Hello!

Seems like ages since I've been able to get here and do more than slog. It's been a busy week or so.

For anyone interested, there is a good shot at aurora viewing this weekend...probably Saturday night. There was a decent flare from the sun earlier today that should impact the earth's atmosphere within a couple days.

Has anyone been able to observe the planet alignment? It's been neat to see when we've been lucky enough not to have cloudy skies.

Thu, 05/16/2002 - 8:00 PM Permalink
ares

i can't honestly say that i've tried, terry. i've either not had the time to be out when the viewing ought to be good, or the viewing's been bad.

Ooh! We should be up north this weekend, and its supposed to be nice, we'll keep our eyes on the skies!

It's Finally Friday!!!! This day could not get here quickly enough!

The forecast looks good, Artemis. Happy sky watching! There's plenty to see. Check out some websites to see how the planets are aligned and visible and where to watch. It's cooler to think we can see so many planets here in one place in the night sky. The moon isn't so bright yet so it shouldn't drown out too much of the view.

Better keep on keeping on. Might as well get going and get this work day behind me.

Have a way cooler day everyone!

it really is impressive to think that you can see the planets closer to the sun than you, as well as those farther from the sun than you all at the same time. much as i understand how the positioning works it simply defies logic at first.

I just finished packing my belongings, and I'm getting ready to head out the door. New building, here I come! (provided I remember to get off the bus at a different stop on Monday morning)

Have a good one Frosti. Don't forget, no jeans on Monday either! :-)

Happy Finally Friday everyone!

no jeans???? i pity you guys. i'd go searching for gainful employment elsewhere if such a decree came down here. as for playing hooky today. well, sort of. company sanctioned pic-a-nic this afternoon for a couple of the departments (who are normally at each others' throats. as was proved on the volleyball court)

Hello to EVERYONE!!!! ...been slogging. So, is VIAGRA the preferred drug of the new millenium??? Will Viagra make the world better? ( Please divert children elsewhere for this post....) Will female orgasm (s) !! make this planet a better place? I'd like to know, as I will commit to such a task.

I recently saw a news story that said the new drug of choice for kids is a mixture of extasy and viagra "Sextacy". I think this is sad, and I'm afraid for those kids. If they take this now, when they're young and in their sexual prime, what are they gonna take when they get older and actually need it? Not to mention that it can kill them.

It's really sad that folks - kids included - can't seem to get enough high out of the good things in life without enhancements.

We have been really busy here all day. Finally getting a chance to check in.

It appears there's been a CME impact so if your skies are clear and dark tonight, there's a good chance of seeing northern lights.

It's been mostly clear here all day. Right now it's mostly cloudy. I hope this clears out by dark.

Better keep on keeping on. Dinner is next on the list of things to get done.

Its Cooold up north! We saw a hazy white arc of northern lights, but not a lot of movement. We'll check it out again tomorrow night.

Mcl ya'll!

Artemis - You're right! It was cold. There was frost on Saturday morning on the roofs and such.

We also saw a faint aurora glow last night, but that was about it. Not a great display, but there's always next time.
