We went to the Imax theatre at the MN Zoo today with my grandparents to see the movie "The Journey of Man" by the Cirque du Soleil. It was incredible!(but over too soon) Seeing the Cirque du Soleil live is a great experience, but seeing them at the Imax in 3D was sweet! I highly recommend seeing it if you get a chance!
Allison - I hope the news is good on the job front. Sounds like decent money and some job security. All parts are crossed for you!
There is an auroral storm in progress. If the indices are still up by dark here, there could be a very good chance of seeing aurora in the cities - especially if you can get to a somewhat darker sky area.
We're heading north tonight so I'm hoping for a show to guide our way up 35.
And could someone turn on a giant fan and blow these clouds out of here by nightfall? Please?!?!?!!!!
Just watched (kind of) VH1's Divas Las Vegas thingie.... I believe VH1 has run out of Divas. Come on... Mary J blige? ... The Dixie chicks??? Some "Mariah-Cher-Jewel" girl named Anastasia????? O.K. Perhaps I'm SOOO old I don't see the "Diva" in these singers, but I truly feel that this was a piece of crap schmooze to get viewers, and I really think I should be bitching to VH1, not you. Goodbye! ....Oh, you are all WAY too cooler for this rant....
I think that in their respective musical genres, Mary J Blige and the Dixie Chicks are great artists and musicians. I don't think they can be called divas though. But people are trying to milk things for what they are worth. Heck, they'd probably try a teen divas show with Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera, etc. I mean we've got Manute Bol fighting Refrigerator Perry on Celebrity Boxing.
just picturing Ares dancing around his basement with a can of coke in hand, arms flaring up doing the 'staying alive' thing, singing 'I'm.. too cooler for her rant, too cooler for her rant oh, too cool it hurts'
you should be picturing a green m&m rolling on the floor laughing :)
artemis: the fireworks show seemed shorter than expected. due to the lack of interest or people availability, kids invited himself and me over to me2's house and we watched them from the high bridge. and in exchange for the chat session that followed, i'm now running on about 4 hours of sleep give or take. haven't done that since that one nite at the pp. i'd almost forgotten how much fun that isn't the next morning.
:: wonders how he's ever gonna make the change over to sleeping during the day come january ::
I watched the fireworks from Harriet Island and I thought they were quite impressive. I'd already read that they were supposed to last around half an hour, so I thought the length of it seemed just fine. The weather was great and there were a ton of people at the park along with a free concert and vendors selling food and other things going on. Other than the difficulty in getting out of there afterwards, I thought it was a great event to start the summer with.
OK, ::stretch:: Goodafternoon everyone :) I did wonder how you guys felt thismorning having to get up so early-I slept in til 9 and took the girls to school 1 1/2 hours late, I really didn't care that they were late-they are never that late except in January :)
And no biggy about you guys coming over... everyone who came obviously wanted to be in my company anyhow :) It was fun for being unprepared. I had a goodtime.
I was NOT thrilled at the truck and car that drove across Alice Park though and if I hadn't had wine to drink I would have written their license plate #'s down and called the police on them for possible destruction and hazardess driving-my kids were walking through that park and so were others that could have been hurt-idiots!
I noticed thismorning all the litter (pop, beer cans, chip bags) left in the park and on the street of Cherokee and down the Smith St Highbridge :(
I was not expecting anyone to drive over a park! Definately did not see that coming. The mind moves a little slower when drinking and I didn't know how to react to it besides to yell at him. Mark was in the park and made sure noone else drove across.
i dunno about you, but i would have loved to be a badge walking down cherokee slapping parking tickets on every car in the middle of the road that i walked by :) quotas? we don't need no stinking quotas.
we watched the fire works from mounds, pretty good view but little roaster was upset cuz we couldn't hear the "booms" from there, it didn't keep his attention so he was quite the little monster through the whole thing. I logged on to see if anyone was meeting up anywhere but nobody said anything. ares, next time let us know where you guy's are gonna be! pouting like a baby :(
actually kids and i landing at me2's place was literally a spur of the moment thing that we decided on late in the afternoon (and as you can see, i wasn't even online to read anything about anything).
Muskwa, It's a picture from the original THX 1138 movie.
Heck, I haven't seen that yet. Is it for rent or sale anywhere?
Good luck on the job aw!

:: wakes up. yawns. kicks one foot out of bed onto the cold carpet. crawls back under the sheets ::
then the damn alarm went off.
mornin' sam.

Yeah, you can usually rent it. I don't suggest buying it though cuz many people I know that have seen the movie can't stand it. My wife despises it.
Mornin' Ralph
Goodmorning
I hope you get the job AW...I think the 3 day weekend thing is great! And will come in handy next January for the hunt.
Where & When is everyone/anyone? meeting for the Memorial Harriet Island shindig?
i've got a collection of cell numbers of people. i'l call when i arrive and find out from whoever's there :)
Good Afternoon!

i agree, kt. that's why i didn't watch the thing.
You agree that you are too cooler for my rant, or what once was a great show, has run out of talent, and scraped the dregs of the songstress barrel?
I think that in their respective musical genres, Mary J Blige and the Dixie Chicks are great artists and musicians. I don't think they can be called divas though. Have a great Memorial Weekend everyone!
the latter, kt.

i'll be pleading the 5th now.

tomarrow is today :) and where are you? at a race without us.
Did anyone go to the fireworks? How was it?
How was everybodys weekend?
Its been a beautiful weekend up north. We got a lot of work done, but never as much as we want to. I wish we didn't have to go home tomorrow :(
me2: yes.
bud: that's my job!

oh. i think not.
I did not invite myself over to her house! She said she could have people over at her house. :P
and then you invited yourself over.

i know it actually lasted a full half hour, it just didn't seem like it is all.
and kids, i'm just playing with ya, you know :)
Ares, respect your elders! ;)

3030!Double Joesy :)
ok. as long as you've got a reason for it.
Aww, and I wanted to see you tell them off. Missed opportunity!

Anyone see the bomb scare in Minneapolis yesterday on the news?
You should have seen some of the people. They're hanging around, trying to get as close as they can, to a supposed BOMB!
Come to find out it was a fake but, why would someone put themselves at risk like that?
