what I don't understand Ares, is what benedryll has to do with mosquitos ??? :)

Good Morning!

Breezing through here quickly today. It's my Friday!

I've heard that Maalox applied to skeeter bites keeps them from welting up and itching. Sounds much better than benadryl hangovers.

For those interested, there's been a M-class and an X-class solar flare in the past 24 hours or so. Those events could trigger auroral activity this weekend.

easy, artemis. it keeps the bites from itching. something to do with those antihistamines.

vj, for you the emphasis will be slightly different: a benadrylhangover, not an alcoholhangover :)

terry, maalox? weird.

i suppose i should also note that by "benadryl hangover" i'm referring to the general inability to obtain full consciousness the morning after a couple of benadryl, not an alcohol-induced headache.

eh... damn.. i dun think I drank enough last night.. I was wrong, no hangover... although I have good remedies incase ya'll ever do have one...

the question isn't "did i have a hangover" its "do i remember drinking". if you remember whatcha did, you didn't have enough.

easy, artemis. it keeps the bites from itching. something to do with those antihistamines.

maalox

interesting, I've never heard of using either -'course I don't do medication (or bug spray) so that could be why. The only thing I know for squito bites is the pink stuff (calamine lotion) my mom used to put on them when I was a kid.

Cool Terry! Thanks for the activity info- will keep my eyes to the sky this weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone! MCL

it usually takes a lot to get me to take anything. one skeeter bite isn't gonna do it. but several, as i acquired last weekend, that'll get me to take the benadryl like it was candy. ok. not quitethat bad, as i still have to be able to function during the day.

Hello from north!

Just breezing through quickly to let you all know if you interested....

Watch the skies tonight after dark. If you can get to skies without light pollution, so much the better. This is the best chance in months of auroral activity. All the indicators are up and all we need now is dark. Fingers are crossed the auroral storm continues till then.

All the indicators are up

Ter - Do you have a laboratory up there?

I now will always picture you -

driving to the lake
then driving down a hidden drive to your cabin (The 'Tercab')-
you walk to your computer room,
then over to the 'north' wall
and press a button that looks like a 'medallion'
but it opens a special secret door
to a secret room with windows that overlook the lake and sky
that holds...
telescopes, star charts, calculators & ...indicators. :)

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 8:21 AM Permalink
me2

As you go over the star-figures & graphs at the 'Tercab' with your sidekick, Inks-- 'Look, Inks! Auroral activity! We must warn the others!

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 8:37 AM Permalink
Terry

Exactly!!!

Actually I have the lab on the computer. Special software purchased for aurora warnings and such. Graphs and satellite reports and the whole deal.

We did see about 15 minutes of a very weak display last night. Nothing to get really excited about.

afternoon ralph, sam. Pounding the ginseng for the first clue? Will the clues be posted on this, or another thread? Can I still fish, and hunt? Do I need a shovel with teeth?

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 10:48 AM Permalink
me2

probly use a garden hoe :)

ooops-thats right-no digging!!!

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 10:49 AM Permalink

...just some lite news for anyone... I was reading an article from a Wa state paper about some guys who were returning from a fishing trip, and while boating through the Puget sound, an orphan Orca swam up and started rubbing itself on their boat.He did this for nearly an hour. Well then!

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 10:52 AM Permalink
ares

that'd be almost as cool, kt, as swimming with the dolphins would be.

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 10:53 AM Permalink
KT

Can I carry a shovel for mere happiness, then?

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 10:53 AM Permalink
me2

I think that is a good idea-so we know who is who in the park-a jogger passer byer OR a true hunter :)

except I think of 2 things...American Gothic - except us holding shovels

AND

"owe oh..." from Wizard of Oz -the gaurds carrying shovels walking into the castle in a row -that will be us in a park, in a trance, carrying shovels in a row humming the AW Hotel Coolerfornia tune!

oompa loompa doopady doo.

sorry. wrong movie, wrong song.

in a dark winter's snowfall
cold frost in my hair
warm smell of hot coffee
rising up through the air.

up ahead in the distance
 i saw a shimmering light
i dropped my shovel and put down my guide
so i could track through the white.

there she sat on the snow mound
with her laptop and cell
and i was thinking to myself,
"this could be heaven or this could be hell"

then she brought up the website
and she showed me the way.
there were voices there in every post
thought i heard them sa-a-ay:

ya know, we should actually try to record that sometime. anyone play any instruments that could do the melody? artemis i already know you can sort of play the guitar.

Sat, 07/20/2002 - 7:44 PM Permalink
Artemis The Huntress

Almost correct Ares, Marley plays guitar- I kinda play bass guitar and the banjo :)

Hi KT! That would be cooler! I wonder if it was the same Orca they rescued and are bringing back to its pod in Alaska.

The Clues are being posted in The Medallionaters thread
