Mr News would never survive in here since everyone is pretty well identified with their little number and all.
I just had a fairly radical thought as to where it might be. Debating about whether I want to go check it out now or not. Hmmm, well it is a nice night for a drive and maybe I could get some ice cream or something while I'm out.
A St. Paul Public School - a charter school is downtown - across from Kellogg. We drove through there tonight and suddenly I realized what the satellite was - it's Saturn!!
The circle in the square and the square in the circle are the fountains down there.
Kellogg doesn't feel good at all. It would need to be hidden in the bushes or vines. Everything else would be too easy for someone to trip upon it even if it looked like trash. If you are planning on checking out Kellogg in the night beware of all the guys sleeping on the benches in the darker areas. They're harmless, but I did scare the crap out of a few by looking underneath them.
What do you think about clue 3 saying 'to see more than one' means to look for flashy red neon other than the '1' downtown?
saturn's the satellite, huh? well i suppose that technically around the sun it would be.
i've been convinced from the moment i read that clue, cm, that being half the clue is seeing more than 1 neon sign. i believe the other half is figuring out the play on words that is that "more than one" is implying itself that the one is one of the 2 neon lights you'll see. quite possibly, another is the radisson sign.
That sounds logical ares. I thought the same. At this point in the game I tend to break apart the clues even more than usual. You can actually see both Radisson hotel signs from Kellogg.
So let's see, I saw lots of water, two flashy red neon signs (not sure I would say they were in sky blue though). Saw steps and rocks and benches with lots of trails. Made a connection with history and crime. Saw a place where you could be up above, and then definitely have to take steps down below. I didn't see a satellite, nor bright lights on the side. Didn't get a chance to look for flowers. But I think maybe I just needed more time and more light, possibly.
Thanks AW. That saves me a couple of trips tonight.
MK - Some of my (our) thoughts are probably way off huh? I made up a hunt for the family at Easter time with clues for around the house and it was hilarious seeing that some teams would hit it on the head while others sat there and spun their wheels. Unfortunately for them they didn't have a forum like this to discuss their thoughts with others. They were competing with other teams right there. Some would even find the answer for the following clue but couldn't grab it for fear of another team seeing where they were looking. It was definitely fun for me though. And they all appreciated it as I'm sure we all appreciate you guys putting this on as well. Good job so far! Thanks
Saturn Magnet School is in what used to be the YWCA. There are several neon signs in the sky downtown. The Kings and Queens used to be dethroned at Kellogg Park at the end of the torchlight parade in the ice castles that were built there each year.
Never thought of that. Good idea MK, to have them help me now that they know what's going on. I actually made up two hunts. One for the kids and another harder one for the adults. The kids actually ended up helping out some of the 'less inclined' adults with their clues. It was pretty funny. The only down side was that part of the 'treasure' was one of those fake $1,000,000.00 bills with the Statue Of Liberty on it. The kid who won thought it was real and was way bummed out when it wasn't. Ooops!
AW -Can you see the Mickeys sign from a park? Maybe the Capitol Mall?
What's the difference between steps and stairs? I might assume the number of them. If so, how many then constitutes stairs? Or would it be the grade in which they rise? Or isn't there a difference but more a preference?
goodnight everyone---Swede Hollow is looking nice :)
water red neon hasnt been there before rocks benches someone saw a person walking a dog the cross could be the satellite land of sky blue waters Hamms marker poorer area of the times not rich NO PARKING STAIRS There is a blinking red light too
How is a cross a satellite? And there is a parking lot there. I'm not saying that isn't it, but I'm not convinced. But then again, I'm not convinced of anything right now.
We're heading out to Kellogg. Say hi if you see us.
Goodluck out there-its a fun park :)
look for satellites :)

hahahhaa-ice cream sounds really really gooooooood. :)
enjoy
Guess I'll be back in a while.
That is not far from you AW-
What? everyone snoozin'? or out cruisin' the parks?
Takin' the sandwich 609 myself! :)

Off 2 Swede for da halibut
I LOVE IT TV!
this clue says DAY
so maybe daytime is better to look at Kellogg
saturn's the satellite, huh? well i suppose that technically around the sun it would be.

Baker is looking real good!
Where's Baker? Like an idiot, I left my treasure hunters guide at home.
I see you MK. R U liking this?
Back so soon AW? Did your hunch help?
Page St - east of Smith St. (Cherokee Elementary) Cherokee/Riverview/West Side
Oh, the South side of the river by Cherokee Park? Thanks
There are NO satellites in Kellogg
there are NO rocks in Kellogg
Nor at the construction across the street. There is one BIG rock that's too big to sit on though at the east end of the park that has plaques on it.
I'm not convinced I was wrong, but I'm not positive either. It's hard to see in the dark. And I don't think it's the park Me2 was thinking of.
Baker? No stairs?
hhhmmm maybe...how dark was it?
there she sat on the snow mound
with her laptop and cell
and i was thinking to myself
this could be heavenor this could be hell
then she brought up the web site
and she showed me the way
there were voices there in every post
i thought i heard them say...
Baker=stairs
Does Swede have a parking lot?

Baker has a small stairway and Swede has a small parking lot.
Hello cluemaster and all I see you too!
Yes I (we) like this side of the hunt its cool!
Thanks AW. That saves me a couple of trips tonight.

Got interrupted here.

Woods could be logs. Ke-(llogg) could be considered logs?
Oh! And the Saturn School is the School of Tomorrow. (pondering the future)
Thanks CM !
Training those kids in to help with your digging!hmmmm
good idea!
Joe!
So what about a flashy red neon sign being a "Mickeys" sign?
The ammonia thing could be what was used in the ink at the old PP building seen from the Kellogg Park.
Never thought of that. Good idea MK, to have them help me now that they know what's going on. I actually made up two hunts. One for the kids and another harder one for the adults. The kids actually ended up helping out some of the 'less inclined' adults with their clues. It was pretty funny.

But awwwwww!!

Goodnight everyone!
Scd's Mcl!
i consider them to be the same thing, cm. check that. i'd be more inclined (no pun intended) to say that stairs are a collection of individual steps.
LOL - Thanks for clearing that up. ;-)
C-ya'll 2 morrow
SCD's as well
Isn't there a rock over on the Ramsey County offices site? I wish I would have paid attention to that.
?not sure
The time the medallion was found at Kellogg, it was found in a White Castle box. There's the house for the Kings and Queens.
Common sense can save your health. Don't eat white castle.
goodnight everyone---Swede Hollow is looking nice :)
