yeah, piti. unless jethro's known about pf for a lot longer than thx and i have, he's only been here since february. and i don't recall him ever using a cross for an avatar.
I had a friend named Cathy. She made a choice. Here is her story.
Cathy wanted a child. She was married and her life was going well. She was not a religious person. She became pregnant and was very happy.
During her pregnancy she had tests which indicated her baby was not developing normally. Her baby had encephaly (sp?) I believe it is called. The baby basically did not have a completely formed brain at the brain stem.
She was encouraged by her doctor, friends and family to have an abortion. There was no chance the baby would ever survive and have a normal life.
She chose to carry the pregnancy to term, knowing that the baby at best would live a few days.
When the baby was born, she did not have a normal head, and the back of her head was pretty much not there. The baby was sad to look at for most, barely looking human.
Cathy stayed at the hospital despite being encouraged by nurses to go home and rest. She held her baby and took pictures of her. She named her baby. She sung to her baby, nurtured her, kissed her and loved her.
The baby lived for a few days and then finally died. But the baby died with the experience of being loved, the child got to experience being held by her mother. Her mother got to love her child and say goodbye.
Afterwards, Cathy carried a modest picture of her baby. Cathy's close friend was shocked that Cathy carried and showed the picture of her baby to others. Her friend did not know how to respond other than to ridicule Cathy to others.
I think Cathy is so brave for having the courage to go thru her experience with the goal of loving her child. The love of a mother for her child has no bounds!
Years later, Cathy is still ok, and knows she made the right decision, despite the lack of support from those she should have been able to count on.
Heidi's mom was a teacher and her dad was in the military. He had a brilliant genius mind. Something happened to him in Russia and he had schizophrenia and spent the rest of his life in hospitals.
Heidi's mom got divorced because her dad was violent and they didn't understand his illness at the time.
Heidi's mom remarried a black man. Her and her sister were frequently sexually abused as a very young teen by this man, her step-father.
Heidi became pregnant, her mom kicked him out and divorced him.
Heidi decided to keep her baby, working through her pain from having been raped and knowing how her baby got made.
She was one of those nice girls who had to face her high school peers as a pregnant teen and not able to explain she had no boyfriend. Even more shocking was the afterfact of having a baby not her race and all the rumors she had to face.
She raised a healthy boy who is smart, good, loving and caring. He made a success of his life.
Was it hard being a single mom to a bi-racial child conceived thru rape? Yes, but not too bad. Life never promises you it will be easy.
He had questions about his father, which she did not answer until he was an adult.
She is very glad she made the choice of life in her extremely difficult circumstance. She thanks God daily that she had the strength to keep focused on life and thanks God she made the right decision.
She held her baby and took pictures of her. She named her baby. She sung to her baby, nurtured her, kissed her and loved her.
I cry when I think about the depth of love this mother showed this child.
The baby lived for a few days and then finally died. But the baby died with the experience of being loved, the child got to experience being held by her mother. Her mother got to love her child and say goodbye.
Paula gives as an example a woman who had a child who suffered and refused an abortion... Well, this seems to me to be the height of selfishness to have a baby, who is probably in pain, and is destined to die, and not to get an abortion...
He himself acknowledged it in one of his message...
Now I remember. I think it was simply a picture of Christ though, not a cross. I was the one that asked him to use it.
between your face of your pagan little semi-god and his cross, this place is full of pagans... sorry xians who try to disguise who they are!
What is your problem? Why do you care in the least? You don't even know what my picture is or what it represents. You're ignorant. You're so full of hate that you jump to your hateful conclusions.
Even if it was what you think it represents, I have every right to use whatever the hell I wish as an avatar. I don't know why it bothers you in the least.
As to why put this pagan symbol, who knows? Or maybe it shows your agenda and his: to impose xian beliefs on the bodies of women! Well I am not xian and I rather despise the creed! Moreover, we don't live in a theocracy!!!
Except for insults and portrait of pagan semi-gods, I haven't seen any argument that makes sense from you ... speaking of moron, you seem to define yourself quite well...
"The flood of sad stories from women as old as 52 and as young as 11 has left me forever non-judgmental toward those faced with unwanted pregnancies. I continue to be impressed anew with women's patience and fortitude in overcoming odds and barriers that in their private worlds must loom up like the Rock of Gibraltar. My tolerance for antiabortionists—especially those thoughtless magpies led by male bullies and terrorists—has become zilch. Without the choice of abortion, women can not be free."
" We must not confuse potentiality with actuality. An embryo is a potential human being. It can, granted the woman’s choice, develop into an infant. But what it actually is during the first trimester is a mass of relatively undifferentiated cells that exist as a part of a woman’s body. If we consider what it is rather than what it might become, we must acknowledge that the embryo under three months is something far more primitive than a frog or a fish. To compare it to an infant is ludicrous.      If we are to accept the equation of the potential with the actual and call the embryo an “unborn child,” we could, with equal logic, call any adult an “undead corpse” and bury him alive or vivisect him for the instruction of medical students."
No, but I am all in favor of doctor-assisted suicide as legalized in Holland...As well as no use of extraordinary means to support life if the patient doesn't want them!!!
If men were the ones having abortions, I'd still be against them.
Mebbe ;)
Anyway y'gotta admit, with apparent-Ayatollahs like Jethy disgracing themselves around here --and in Christianity's name, too-- it's understandable if Piti and a few others might take a dim view of all these shenanigans.

I can't tell you the number of times I've gone rounds with Jethro on this subject. Him and I both agree that abortion is wrong. We disagree on just about every aspect of it though.
But I want the process to be legalized and not at the mercy of your corner'Ms fundy coming with his mamzer god and his beliefs and trying to impose his fake faith on the bodies of others!
The people that want it legalized are cowards. They want someone to stroke them and soothe their mind, and tell them there's nothing wrong in taking their own life.
Well unless maybe you underwent a sex-change operation, my Lucasian Premiere aficionado, no it isn't! :-)
...that abortion is wrong.
Okay by your reckoning anyway --i.e. leaving out the 'agreement' aspect, between you and Jethy-- is your usage of the word "wrong" here to be taken in the sense of "murderous", or maybe "not criminally punishable but morally over-the-line anyway" or something else still, perhaps?
And the people who are against its legalization are voyeurs who prefer see other suffer in the name of their adoration of the bastard son of a whore and adulteress!
Maybe not... But it must be said: most of the opposition to abortion comes from xian circles and it is based on their religion... Well we aren't in a theocracy and people are free to believe what they want... And the xian approach to abortion isn't mine!
YAWWN... If you think your blackmail is of any importance to anybody with half a brain... I don't...
Apparently you are so damn stupid that you don't know what blackmail is.
jethro bodine 8/22/02 11:26am
I see it very well tipesh gadol ... And you are trying to practice it!
And you are trying to practice it! What can you possibly mean?
jethro bodine 8/22/02 11:39am
You are a practicing blackmailer AND a certified idiot...
Happy?
I forgot. You are a liberal. Reality doesn't mean anything to you.
When I first came to this board, Jethro was posting with a sign of the cross, aussi grand que moi presque...
Huh? He was?
THX 1138 8/22/02 12:12pm
Yep!
how long have you been with pf, piti? cuz as far as we know, jethro came here in february when the rest of us did.

Piti is confused.
Jethro's never had the cross as an avatar.
I cry when I think about the depth of love this mother showed this child.
Doesn't every child deserve this?

de la bouche de l'idiot lui-même!
Paula I 8/22/02 7:39pm
From the queen of the confused.. as Jethro has acknowledged that he posted with a cross!
Could you keep your false sentimality to yourself? This "she held a baby" bla bla bla has nothing to do with getting an abortion...
Which I am happy to report, today thousand of women will get in spite of the screams of the religiously-addled!
Thanks the fates!
Paula gives as an example a woman who had a child who suffered and refused an abortion... Well, this seems to me to be the height of selfishness to have a baby, who is probably in pain, and is destined to die, and not to get an abortion...
Mawkish sentimentality and completely wrong!

Yes, ripping the child to shreds is much less painful, I'm sure.
::smacks head on desk::
trying to get yourself a new desk at work, thx? :)
And this is how the xian neo-nazis probably encourage abortion!
LOL!

You're an idiot.
Not to mention hateful.
You're totally wrong on my avatar.
If you were a decent person I might explain it to you but now I'd rather you make a fool of yourself.

A worthy sidekick to Jethro!
And here why I will always support abortion

I'm sure they'll soon advocate killing the mentally ill or alzheimer's patients, for they are no longer truly human are they?

What an awful creed your xianity is!!! A creed of death and compulsion, in the name of a pagan semi god!!!
Pitiricus. 8/23/02 9:29am
You're funny, you should have your own comedy show.
Great idea LUV.
An "All in the family" type show. Piti playing the role of the narrow-minded, hateful, ignorant, bigoted Archie Bunker.
If they want to die a quick painless death, they should be allowed!
In the case of you, I'd have to agree.
THX 1138 8/23/02 10:25am
IT's funny with the anti-women who label themselves "pro-life", but they cannot stick to any serious conversation...
Like you!
Jesus forgives you, Piti.
What? Dropped your crucifix Jethro?
IT's funny with the anti-women who label themselves "pro-life", but they cannot stick to any serious conversation...
I was serious. You'd be a great Archie Bunker.
Anyway, it's impossible to have a serious conversation with you. You're just too bitter and hateful.
In your mind I've got three strikes against me right from the get go. I'm a Christian, I'm a male, and I'm anti abortion.
Also: I'm not anti woman. I love women. Most of my favorite people are women.
I am anti abortion. If men were the ones having abortions, I'd still be against them.
What do you call women that are against abortion? Are they anti woman as well?
THX 1138 8/23/02 3:16pm
The equivalen of uncle Tom for blacks... Women who oppose abortion can decide not to have one... And this is the only decision they can make...
Moreover the majority are hypocristes! When they need one, they have one!
