nah, vj. you guys, like me, have yet to find your gems. seriously, anyone who knows me fairly well knows that i am a huge believer in fate. these chicks just weren't in the cards for you is all. after my girl came back to the twin cities, i knew full well that things wouldn't work for us the minute she told me she had herself a new boyfriend. and i didn't give up on her as long as we still had some semblance of communication going on between us. when that stopped, well, we know what happened after that. a couple of phone calls, an email, one in response and that was it.
Ares - You obviously haven't seen my key ring. We both have keys for all the vehicles we own, house keys (here and up north), my Mom's apartment keys, our respective work keys (building, suite, personnel file cabinet) and a couple I can't identify any longer.
The problem was that he had his whole ring and my whole ring. I was left with no keys. Nada. Zip.
Fate has a whole lot to do with who we end up with...but I believe that when it's right, you'll know it without any hesitation. If it's not right, it won't work out.
Not that relationships don't take a whole bunch of work - give and take - compromise - partnering - and a few million good arguments - making up after the arguments - and that work never ends. A relationship is not something that gets to a point and then the work stops. It's a life long committment to making things work.
I believe in fate. I met my fiancee by asking one simple question. "Where in South Dakota are you from?" She happened to come to the chat room where I was and stay there because of the pretty colors. We started talking and got to be good friends. We became good friends and went on to deeper feelings and emotions. We were getting out of relationships about the same time. Even with the age difference, we were at points in our lives where things worked out well. And now I have a beautiful, wonderful woman I'm so happy with. I don't want it to seem that I'm rubbing it in your faces. I just want you guys to be patient. Good things will come in due time.
hell yeah ninja.. Ive decided to stop looking.... im tired of always being the one to try and meet people.... screw it... if someones out there, let them find me..... im just gonna get out alot more now, so the ladies will notice my ass more, if they wanna talk to me...fine, let em, and hopefully shit will work out. Im not gonna be out to impress anyone from now on.. thats how shit gets messed up...
Sounds like a good plan VJ, sometimes when we stop looking, the right thing will find us. Thats what happened to me when I met Marley, after several failed relationships I had decided "screw it, I'm just gonna stop looking for it and have fun" and a couple of monthes later I met Marley, and 9 yrs later here we are. Hang in there, we're not all bad ;)
same here. i managed to crash about midnite after im'ing with my sisters boyfriend for a couple of hours after she went to bed. and was awakened several times overnite thanks to the thunder and lightning.
on the good news side of things, someone emailed me about my car thats for sale on carsoup.com. i just have to call her back this afternoon. prospective sale here i come!
I gave up looking a couple of years ago and decided I was just going to run a singles club and have fun, and now, hmmm, well I'm still pretty hopelessly single. So much for that theory.
actually, jt, if i were going to get a phd in anything it'd probably be math. if for no other reason than its the foundation for everything. of course at the u this would mean learning german, italian, or russian, because you actually have to demonstrate a technical reading proficiency in 2 of either those or french. now the french i've got, that's just a bit beyond though.
It's Finally Friday at the end of the work day. By bedtime we'll be north in the woods. Doesn't get much better than that.
I slept through the storms last night. I got up with Inks this morning at 5am to watch the lightening though. Quite the light show.
Allison - At least you're having fun with your singles group. If you got hitched with someone, what would happen to the singles group? You do a nice job with organizing that group.
Huh? What storm? Was there a storm? ...One that lasted nearly 14 hours, disrupted power, fried PCs, closed schools, and caused a drunk woman to cruise down Nicollet Av, and flip her car over onto my son's parked car, resulting in "minimal damage"????? THAT STORM? ok, yes, DUH, but that's been this child's life today.... Hope your's was cooler...........
We're north, the car is unpacked, I've sent email to the family so they know we arrived safely and thought I'd check in here quick before going out to stargaze.
There shouldn't be any lightening or thunder to wake us tonight or tomorrow.
LAST UPDATE: 07 SEPTEMBER 2002, 16:16 UTC (12:16 pm EDT 07 September):
The arrival of the coronal mass ejection from 05 September has been detected passing the ACE spacecraft at 16:18 UTC. The shock front appears to be moderately large and should begin driving intensified levels of auroral substorming within 15 minutes after impacting the Earth. Impact with the Earth should occur within the next 45 minutes. A mid-latitude auroral activity warning is being issued for this event - effective immediately.
Let's hope the storming continues until dark skies here.
The storming continues even now...though it appears to be waning.
Shortly after dark we saw the aurora glow in the northern sky with a few rays reaching about 75 degrees but not much movement. Pretty dull disply actually. That went on for about 2 hours.
Perseverance pays off sometimes. The latest display - lasting about 45 minutes or so was much more active. Multiple rays were shooting up to the zenith, crossing over each other and making for a beautiful fun aurora storm. Wish you could all have experienced it.
Now as this subsides, I should get to bed...but I am so pumped it'll take me awhile to settle in and be able to sleep.
Well Terry, I suspect if I did get seriously involved with someone, and that person was interested in being an equally active member of the group, I suppose the group would die off. The last few weeks as I've been moving and having computer troubles, and not planning any events, the club has gone from 6 events a week for much of the summer to maybe 1 or 2. But then again, I don't know if I'd really be happy with someone who just wanted to spend a lot of time at home alone.
Allison - It might depend on what one was doing home alone?!? :-)
Are you moved yet? Did it go okay? I hate moving. So darned much work to packing, sorting, ditching stuff and then moving stuff that you later think you should have ditched.

::rubs eyes::
Man, am I the only one that got no sleep last night?
Was that a heck of a storm or what?
same here. i managed to crash about midnite after im'ing with my sisters boyfriend for a couple of hours after she went to bed. and was awakened several times overnite thanks to the thunder and lightning.

JOE!
dammit. i got the joe and didn't even claim it.
You're crazy
hey, if you're gonna edit my posts for me, at least make me a host so i can do it myself. sheesh. :)
hahaha-better to be edited by others sometimes than to edit yourself? hmmmm maybe the other way around ;)
"screw it, I'm just gonna stop looking for it and have fun"
I said, "screw it, I'm just gonna stop looking and take care of myself"
then 2 weeks later...BOOM BABY!
yup. someone went in and made me say joe after the fact.
ok-way to much information there Ares---NO COMMENT!
milady, may i present you with the king of foot-mouth insertion, me.
I gave up looking a couple of years ago and decided I was just going to run a singles club and have fun, and now, hmmm, well I'm still pretty hopelessly single. So much for that theory.
Somehow there is something in Ares post that I just can't PULL OUT
hahahahahahha
Hi AW
of course not. my foot from my mouth. its lodged in there so far it'll never come back out.
well...let see...if its in there that far it must come out at ...some point - come to think of it...it may turn yourself inside out
except that its still attached to my leg at the other end.
Maybe you'll become a human mobius strip.
möbius strip or klein bottle?
A mobius strip would be cooler. You'd never know where you begin or end.
as if i know that the way it is?
Isn't it a song by Orbital?
lemme guess. those came from mathematica? now where's the pic of a klein bottle?
i like the m&m filled one
LOL!
I know. I laughed when I saw that, I thought it was perfect.
scary but true, one of my professors at the u actually wrote his phd thesis on klein bottles.
It takes a special person to enjoy Math that much.
:-)
coming soon to a park near you:

I love what you guys 'twisted' everything into with those posts above. hahahah I love the m&m's!!! It's funny sometimes how things just fit.
ok Ian, its evening...where are the details?
i let the lightning wake me up this morning, terry.
we twist everything around these parts, j. you oughtta know that by now. :)
ooooh Ian, cool. I love it :)

minimal damage, huh? do tell.
KT - That sounds like a story to tell.
