Too funny Allison - especially being you were sober. :-)
Me2 - Depends on what you mean by close. We're 27 miles from Grand Casino, 20 miles from Banning Junction, and about 15 or 20 miles from Black Bear.
Going to go drop my car off for some repairs and whatever tonight. The darned thing has been soooo good for so long. I have a suspicion that this might get a bit pricey. Tune up probably, oil change, something goofy with the a/c fan, my keyless entry has quit working, and though the poor baby has over 130,000 miles on it, I expect to keep it awhile yet so it will get whatever repairs it needs.
uh, i ain't ever seen no purple camouflage, frosti. but it looks very cool nonetheless. that the scout?
joe.
and since i'm here yapping, ever notice how you don't notice things until they're pointed out to you? take for instance tornado sirens, no one ever took notice of the things until we were looking for them during jake's hunt. now i know there's one on 94 just east of snelling, one on 94 just south of downtown minneapolis, one just off of the 35e/694 cluster%^$*^commons in vadnais heights, and the list goes on.
well, i voted today, and the election judges were talking about the increasing number of planes flying in and out of the downtown airport. so i sat and talked with them for a bit, trying to figure out why when the general direction of the runway is to the southeast, the approach pattern is an arc fron the northeast. (which i can only justify as an simulator pilot if the crosswind runway at msp is in use, in which case the planes should be coming in to holman from the other end anyway. rob if you're reading feel free to correct me on this). anyhow, maybe its because its cool enough that the windows can be open and i'm just hearing them, but i'll be damned if i'm not hearing a jet come in every 15 minutes or so, flying in right overhead.
Allison - Of course you can bring your singles club! Better make sure Jake makes it if there's some introductions to be made.
So far it seems those that think they can make it are Allison, me2, ares, maybe Ian, Artemis and Marley, some of the singles club and Inks and I of course.
Allison - If I get you a map - unless you kept the last one - can you email directions to folks?
We have grills, a large picnic table, and firewood.
Bring lawn chairs! We don't have enough for everyone.
If anyone wants to camp out, that's cooler. I just ask you bring your own towels if you want to shower. This fun weekend won't be so much fun if we end up doing tons of laundry.
I'll have to redo the map I have. It has the old street name and address. Pine County renamed streets and renumbered homes there last year. Every map I have has the old stuff on it.
Give me a day or two. There's plenty of time yet anyways.
The car isn't in bad shape - but the transmission is going out and we're not going to replace it. We'll drive it till it doesn't want to go anymore. Maybe we'll make it through one more hunt together.
Today was a strange one. I got the willies when I was out today and realized how much air traffic there was. A year ago the skies were eerily quiet.
I'm posting a link here to a beautiful flash movie related to this anniversary. It takes a litte while to load on a dial up connection, but I think it's worth it.
Damn... was that really your ride? Ive seen that thing before...
Not with that paint on it. At least, not before last weekend. But yeah J, you'll probably see it, since I'm over on the east side and that thing's hard to miss.
yeah.. I meant that I saw it real recently... I dun remember when... but I remember going "What the hell is that?" and pointing it out to whoever I was with.
Alexandria is one of the hardest stops on the Minnesota Junior Bowler's Tour, but we always go anyway. There were about 55 boys and 16 girls. After 5 games Kollin was in 6th place and Kris was probably 20th. After 9 games Kris was in 4th place and Kollin faded to 16th. The top 10 advance to match play, head-to-head competition. Out of 9 opponents, Kris beat 7 and tied 1. His one loss was because of a nasty split in the 10th frame. A 10th game is bowled for position round, and he ended up at +216, a 221.6 average. He was dominant throughout match play. The second place finisher was +45, a 204.5 average. This was his first win in a major tournament. Of the 9 opponents, 4 were previous champions.

rule number one: if she ain't happy, you ain't happy. and if she ain't happy long enough you're gonna be unhappy with half of your stuff.
"Mystery Machine" Travel Bug ... coming to a park near you.
there it was!
Good evening!

All parts crossed that it doesn't bankrupt me!
:: wonders what ian's gonna come up with for a travel bug for me ::
ter, feel free to send me directions too. i dont' have anything going on on the 5th that i'm aware of.
Did you say it was ok to bring people from my single's club as well? There's a woman from my club who I think should meet Jake.
Speaking of strangely painted vehicles, check out mine!

Purple? There's no purple. Maybe some red primer showing through. But purple's a good idea! During football season, anyway. And yes, that's The Scout.
Here's a close-up of the pattern.
Allison - Of course you can bring your singles club! Better make sure Jake makes it if there's some introductions to be made.

I could possibly make it. If it's a Saturday, I'd get off work about 4 or 5. However long it takes to get from MOA to there then pretty much.
I guess I could send out directions. I don't think I saved the map though.
I'll dig my map out and send it to you, Allison. I just know you have everyone's email address - and I don't.
TMK - It takes us 1 3/4 hours from the cities to our door up there. It's pretty much a straight shot up 35.
I'll have to redo the map I have. It has the old street name and address. Pine County renamed streets and renumbered homes there last year. Every map I have has the old stuff on it.
Give me a day or two. There's plenty of time yet anyways.
Where does the time go?
Best head for the sheets here.
Goodnight, SCDs and MCL!!

That would be me. :)

Goodmorning boys
good morning, milady.
Feel like I've been MIA lately. Busy around my house and in my life. Funny how the real world keeps pestering atcha.
I still haven't found time to redo that map and directions - but have no fear - there will be one.
The acorns have started falling off the oaks here. Such a fun time of the year. If the wind picks up, they can sound almost like rain.
mornin' sam.
afternoon Hank
THX, saying I was trying to kill you is a little harsh, dontcha think?? :)
Ok, so you tried to hurt me real bad.
Is that better?
CAUTION
parental bragging ahead:
