Wasn't today just simply glorious? I sure wish I could have been spending more time outdoors enjoying it and less of the day inside working.

Seen the meteor shower last night/morning. Cool stuff. I couldn't count to 5 without seeing one or two streak by. The paper guy thought I was nuts standing out in my shorts and a jacket staring at the sky. I told myself that I would only go in if i waited for 15 seconds and nothing happened. Well, long story longer, I needed to grab my camcorder because they just kept coming. Of course only a few of the real bright ones even showed up at all on the tape. But it was cool nonetheless.

Not sure if you heard the story or not but one of my employees is the Grandma involved in the case of the 6 year old that was 'abducted' by her mother and kept in her house for over two years with the shades drawn and no outside or school. A few of us kind of knew about it but only heard the one side where the guy was this sexually and physically abusive father and husband so we didn't really think it was all that bad to keep the kid. But I don't think I'd tell the kid that her father was dead. I mean I would keep my kid from any kind of abuse even if it meant going against the ruling of a court, but I would be honest. It's a pretty sad situation for the kid who's now placed in protective services. Not sure if mom or dad will get to raise her now.

P.S. - Knowing the story first hand, I definitely have seen how the media can take any person and portray them out to be monsters.

ok-I recall a conversation last night but I don't remember what it was actually about...Ares said something about not being able to use his left hand and that he has tried to and it doesn't work as well.
What was it about again Ares?

I think it was something about being proud that he could switch hands and pick up a stroke. Or that it feels like someone else if you use your left hand. Something like that. I'm not quite sure what it was.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one in the world that this has happened to.

I will say I'm much happier since being removed from that job. And all those close to me can tell the difference. Guess I should've left years earlier. To hell w/ loyalty to a company becasue they have none for most.

My wife gets her review on Monday and we'll see what they do. She has been out on med leave due to her pregnancy. Last time this happened they told her they couldn't rate her do they gave her a puny raise.
